(It's been two weeks since that time seeing the fallen angel. It's been pretty quiet, too quiet. I haven't heard from hyoudou at all, and I'm more than a little worried that the fallen angel might have just ended up killing him soon after the incident in which I saved him. I don't regret it even though I know it's going to be troublesome later down the line; it's not like I can't handle it, though it doesn't make it any less of a drag, though.)
Seiji closes his journal and sighs, placing the book back on his desk.
Seiji looks at the time and notices he still has time for light breakfast and a shower; he goes to the bathroom and takes a quick shower and returns to his room, and dresses for school.
He goes downstairs and is greeted by no one. He looks around and sees a note on the table from his mother explaining that she and shigeo went out for breakfast this morning, but she left him something in the oven and topped off the note with xoxo.
Seiji looks in the oven and retrieves what his mom left him. She knew him well a couple of cinnamon raisin bagels with peanut butter that was one of his favorites.
Seiji grabs some juice from the fridge and leaves. As he leaves, he looks at hyoudou's house across the street and wants to knock on the door to see if he's alive.
Seiji resolves himself and knocks on the door, and waits for a moment before finally the door open to reveal a middle-aged woman with dark brown hair that is tied into a ponytail and hazel eyes.
"Good morning. How can I help you?" she asks Seiji
"Good morning, Mrs hyoudou. My name is Seiji Akiyama. I'm an acquaintance of issei, and I just wanted to come by so maybe we could walk to school." Seiji says.
Mrs hyoudou smiles "it's nice to meet you, Seiji -Kun issei is currently oversleeping as he tends to do. Dreaming of something perverted, no doubt you can come in and wait if you like." she offers.
Seiji nods "thank you."
Seiji enters the hyoudou residence and waits in the foyer. After about ten minutes, issei emerged and bid his parents farewell and pulled Seiji along and took him to a secluded location, and looked around before he spoke.
"Dude! You're never going to guess what happened to me!" Issei whisper yelled.
Issei started to tell him how eventful things had been

Issei was lying in his bed thinking about everything 'i almost died...' was the thought constantly floating around his head that he couldn't get out.
Issei didn't sleep much at all the past couple of night.
The following day Monday, the hyoudou got up before his alarm even rang, and he was showered and ready for school in record time.
After having breakfast with his parents, issei started his walk, and he was a bit overly vigilant.
As he continues walking, he didn't even notice he had already reached the school grounds until his friends called out to him.
"Hey, issei! Earth to issei! You with us?" Matsuda asks
Issei shakes his head "yeah, I'm good."
His friends pulled him along and started to talk about things like which adult videos they had been watching lately etc., but issei didn't seem to be fully invested in the conversation. Issei looked at his friends and decided to ask the question that's been on his mind.
"Hey, guys... Do you remember I went on a date Saturday with yuuma-chan?"
Matsuda and motohama look at issei before bursting into hysterical laughter.
"Hahahahahaha!!! That's hilarious, dude. You getting a date, man. The world must be ending or something you know you don't get any girls just like us."
Matsuda's laughter turned to chuckles.
Motohama adjusts his glasses "that was a good joke, though."
"It's not a joke! Look, here's her contact info right here!" he pulls out his phone and shows them the screen.
"All we see are your mom and dad's phone numbers." Matsuda points out.
Issei looks at his phone and doesn't see yuuma's number or anything, 'but this doesn't make sense! I remember her number. I'll call it.'
Issei, based on memory, dials the number and gulps, but he received a dial tone and the automated voice saying the phone is turned off or no longer in service.
Issei shook his head 'no way...'
"I'll see you guys later." iseei says and leaves to go off on his own to think.
Issei arrived outside the old school building and leaned against the building "why do they not remember yuuma-chan, but I remember everything vividly!?" He mutters, frustrated.
He looks up and sees rias looking at him, and for that brief moment, just seeing her seemed to make him almost forget about everything keyword being almost.
Rias looks at him for a few seconds before leaving the window, and issei was once again with just his thoughts.

Rias bit her thumb "well, this Is certainly an exciting development."
"What is?" akeno asks
"Well, hyoudou is still alive. He went on a date with the fallen angel raynare, and he's still alive," she answers.
Akeno looks at rias "you speak like you knew he was going to be in danger."
"I didn't. But I did have suspicions, but because peace between us and the fallen is fragile, I couldn't act without knowing for sure, but it seems it all ended well he's still alive. But this does make things a little complicated I mean, it's not like I wanted hyoudou to die, but it would have made things a lot easier." rias sighs.
"Easier?" koneko questions munching on some chocolate.
"For him to join the peerage, of course, we need some more manpower, and I could sense it. He's got a significant amount of power—a sacred gear." rias says.
"How should I go about doing this now?" rias wonders.
"Why not just explains everything to him and then allow him to make his own choice based on all the information given to him?" Kiba suggests.
Akeno nods in agreement "it's not like he doesn't know about the supernatural now. So there's no downside to it, and the worst he can do is say no. You've got nothing to lose and everything to gain."
Rias had a look of deep thought for a few moments, and finally, rias conceded to their point as she was trying to think of every possible reason why she shouldn't do that, but what they said just made too much sense.
"Okay, I'll talk with him and explain everything and let him make his own choice. But for now, class is getting ready to start. I'll handle that after school. Kiba, be a dear and collect him for me after school."
Kiba nods "of course buchou."
"Okay, everyone, see you after school." rias bids them farewell and leaves.
(timeskip: end of the school day)
Issei was in his classroom and staring off into the distance, distracted, until he heard an unfamiliar voice call out to him.
"Hyoudou-Kun, would you be so kind as to follow me, please? I have someone who would like a word with you." Kiba says with his usual polite smile.
"Oh my god! What is Kiba doing with hyoudou?!" one girl cried out
"Kiba-Kun, don't get too close. His pervertedness might rub off on you!" another girl cries.
Issei looks at Kiba and, being a little skeptical, asks the obvious question, "who?"
"Buchou rias gremory would like a word with you." Kiba answers
"No freaking way!" iseei says.
"I assure you I'm telling the truth." Kiba persists.
Issei sighs, seeing he won't be getting rid of Kiba unless he complies with him. He stands.
"Alright, blondie, lead the way," he says.
"No! Kiba-Kun!" the girls cry out.
"God! Calm yourselves. I'm not going to drain his pimp juice. Come on, blondie, let's get out of here."
Kiba nods and starts walking with issei to the club room.
(occult research club)
Issei arrived in the club room, and the first person he saw was koneko.
"You're koneko toujou, right?" issei asks, surprised
"Koneko toujou first year." she greets simply before going back to her chocolate.
Issei hears water "wheres the sound of running water coming from?" he mutters and looks and sees a room off to the side behind the desk in the room, and he put two and two together.
A giggle emerged from his mouth, a perverted giggle.
Koneko shook her head "pervert..." she mutters.
Akeno emerged with a towel and placed it outside the room for rias.
Akeno notices issei and gives a polite bow. "oh, good afternoon. I'm akeno himejima. It's good to meet you."
"Likewise, I'm issei hyoudou." issei replies 'i can't believe it I'm here with one of the great onee-sama's of kuoh academy!'
Suddenly the water stopped running. "I'm sorry for the wait. I'll be right out." rias calls out.
Issei shakes his head "it's fine I'll just take a seat."
Issei takes a seat on the couch across from koneko
Akeno brings issei a cup of tea, and he takes a sip. This was by far the best tea he'd ever drunk, and he didn't even really drink tea like that.
"Wow, this tea is amazing!" Issei complimented.
Akeno giggles, "ara~ ara~ so you're a flatterer. Well, that's good to know."
After a few more moments, rias finally emerges. "I apologize for the wait. I was short on time this morning, so I didn't shower."
Issei shakes his head "it's okay, but blondie said you wanted to see me, so what's this all about?" he asks.
"Ah, straight to the point, I like that. Okay, then I won't waste any time then. Does the name yuuma Amano mean anything to you?"
Issei's eyes widened "h-how... How do you know that name?"
"It's because her real name isn't yuuma Amano. Yuuma Amano never existed. Let me guess; people have been acting like they don't know what you're talking about when you bring her up?"
Issei nods to rias inquiry "y-yeah, I was beginning to wonder if everything was just a bad dream..."
"I assure you it's not what happened Was no dream she tried to kill you, didn't she?"
Issei nods as his fist clench "y-yes, yes, she did. If it weren't for my friend buying me time to escape, I would have died."
Rias looked intrigued but decided she would ask about this friend later, for now, business first.
Rias slid an envelope forward "her name... Her real name is raynare, and she's well... She's a fallen angel. I know it's a lot to take in and believe, but you saw it with your own eyes. She had black wings like a crow."
Issei nods "yeah, she did. Does this mean I'm still in danger?"
"If I'm going, to be frank, yes. But that doesn't mean you have to be afraid. I want to offer you a chance to be a part of my household. If you are, I can, I will protect you, and I'll train you so you can defend yourself against attacks should they ever happen and none of us are around." she offers
Issei was taken aback "wait, so does this mean that..."
"Yes, me and everyone here is a supernatural being a devil to be exact I'll go into greater details once you've made your choice. Now I want to say you don't have to choose right away, but I wouldn't advise you to take your time and wait too long because they won't regardless of what you decide to do, your life will be forever changed. I'm just trying to offer a better solution/alternative. And if you're a devil, you'll eventually get to the point that you can have anything your heart desires."
Issei nods with a faraway look while the promise of anything he desired was enticing; there were other variables to consider, like his parents and his friends; even if he had a few, he didn't want harm to come to them.
"Is that all you wanted?" issei asks.
Rias nods "yes, your free to go."
Issei stood and started to walk to the door and put his hand on the knob to open it but stopped for a moment.
"Gremory-senpai... I have one question."
"What is it?"
"Is it worth it?"
"It is. If you're strong enough." rias assures.
Issei nods, and with that, he leaves.
"You did the right thing buchou. Now all that's left is to await his response." akeno says.
"Yes, but I hope for his sake as well as my own he decides to join us because if he doesn't, there will be no hope for him or me..." rias says grimly.
(later that night)
Issei stayed in his bed thinking about everything with yuuma well raynare and rias proposal And while the fact that he could have anything he desired if he becomes strong was the most enticing factor, he thought about all the women with bountiful oppai he could have, and a perverted grin stretched across his face.
However, the other variables weren't far from his thoughts, his friends, and his family. If he became involved with this world, they would undoubtedly have targets on their backs then, and he'd never forgive himself if anything happened to them, but he could get strong enough to protect them, so that should be an incentive.
Yet he still found himself hesitating, and he sighed and got out of bed and pulled his computer chair out from his desk and just sat looking out the window at the night sky. He didn't sleep that night as he stayed up the entire night thinking about potentially accepting rias offer.
(the following day after school: occult research club)
Rias waited with anticipation to hear issei's answer though she tried her best not to show it.
Issei appeared in front of the old school building and entered and was outside the club room and waited several seconds as if trying to rethink what he had decided before opening the door.
"Okay, Gremory-senpai, I've come to my decision, and I'm in. What do I have to do?"
Rias smiles and pulls out a small box that reveals chess pieces "now we get you set up with evil pieces."
(flashback end)
"And that's how it went down. She put the chess pieces against my chest, and they sank inside me. As weird as that sounds, but I swear it happened. So yeah, man, I'm a devil now." issei whispers.
Seiji looks at issei, and while issei expected a big blow and a bombardment of questions, the reaction he got was one he didn't expect.
"Yeah, I know," Seiji replies.
"Wait? What?!"
"I said yeah, I know." Seiji reiterated
"Wait. Wait. Wait. How?! How do you know did I miss something? Are you a part of one of the three factions?" issei asks.
"No. It's an ability I have known as insight. It allows me to detect supernatural beings. I've known about them for awhile now." Seiji explains.
Issei looks surprised "if you're not a supernatural being, then what exactly are you?"
"I am human, but well, let's say, my family, I come from a long line of supernatural hunters. It's the hunters' job to preserve and protect humanity. Some supernatural beings integrate pretty well with society, but those who view humans as just meaningless things to kill or eat those are the beings we go after." Seiji explains.
"So how much do you know about the supernatural world?" issei inquiries
"I know a little about a lot of things. Just enough to make me dangerous." Seiji replies.
Seiji starts to walk "come on; we don't want to be late."
Issei snaps from his stupor and follows Seiji "what so if you knew/know about the supernatural that means you knew about yuuma?"
"I did, but I didn't know what type of supernatural being she was. It requires insight to be finely tuned before I can distinguish what race a being belongs to. The most my insight can do now is tell me when one is near." he explains.
"So you knew, and you said nothing?"
"If I had told you, would you have believed me?"
Issei took a moment to think about it "point taken."
The duo kept walking, and eventually, they cross paths with a girl who was looking around like she was lost, and issei walked up to her "excuse us? Are you lost?"
"O-oh um... I just got a little turned around. I'm looking for the church." the nun answers with her veil covering her face.
"Oh well, my pal here, and I could take you there." issei offers.
"Oh, would you? Thank goodness, let get my bag." the girl walks to get her bag and seemingly trip over nothing and lands on the ground in a compromising position. Her panties were exposed.
Issei had a goofy perverted look on his face for a slight moment before shaking his head 'get your head out of the gutter, man, she's a nun!' he scolded himself.
Seiji walks up to the nun "here, let me help you." he offers his hand, which she takes
"Thank you. I appreciate your help." as she said this, a strong gust of wind came and blew the veil out of her face revealing she had a pretty face.
It was seen that the girl's suitcase had burst open after she tripped on it and her delicates were floating around in the wind and issei started to chase after them.
The girl blushes, and Seiji chuckles at the situation "oh, where are my manners? My name is Seiji Akiyama, and the guy chasing your panty drawers is issei hyoudou."
The nun smiles, albeit still with a blush on her cheeks. "I'm Asia. Asia Argento." she introduces herself.
"Nice to meet you, Asia." Seiji smiles.
Issei finally returned breathing heavily "i uh.. I got these for you." he hands her the panties back.
Asia blushes red "thank you, issei-san."
Issei rubbed the back of his head with an easy smile "don't mention it. Now let's get you to the Church."
The duo started walking, and Issei and Asia were having a conversation off to the side as they continued walking. Eventually, they heard a cry, and they ran to the origin of the crying and saw a little boy crying with a scraped-up knee.
"It's okay, calm yourself. A big boy like yourself shouldn't be crying like this." Asia says sweetly as she places her hands over the boy's wound, and it starts healing rapidly until the damage disappeared utterly.
The boy smiles "thank you!" he says and runs off to probably go play again.
"Wow, that was amazing!" issei says.
"Thank you. It's one of the Lord's miracles, a sacred gear called twilight healing. It's what I did at the church. I was previously at heal people, but that's a different story altogether." she says with a bit of sadness.
Seiji and issei look at each other, and Seiji shakes his head. He believed she would talk about it when she was ready. And considering they were near the church, which resided on a hill, there was no time anyway.
Issei looks up and sees the church, but something was going off like alarm bells telling him not to go there, and Seiji had a similar feeling but for a different reason.
"Well, here we are. Would you two like to come up for tea? It's the least I can do since you two helped me." Asia says.
"We would love to Asia, but we'll have to take a rain check on that we've got to get to school. We'll see you later, though, alright?" Seiji says as he pulls issei along as he waves and screams bye to her.
"Dude, what the hell!? Why did we have to go?" issei questions indignantly.
"Because you ever seen the hills have eyes? Yeah, I was getting those types of vibes from that church, and anything holy is like kryptonite to a devil. I also sensed some supernatural beings in that church." Seiji informs.
"What!? How many! We need to go back right now. Asia is about to go in there!" issei yells and attempts to run back, but Seiji puts his hand on his shoulder.
"I sensed four supernatural beings, and as for going back, no, we can't go back one because you're weak during the day. Your heightened abilities only kick in at night now. You're just average, and two, we're not prepared. We would probably get our butts kicked before we even reached the front door, and what help would we be to Asia then? We don't even know if she's in any danger. Besides, if she is in with some bad people in Asia, I think she has enough common sense to run and bail out if she's uncomfortable." Seiji reassures
Issei calmed himself and looked back in Asia's direction, and nods "Okay, okay, you're right. I'm sorry about that, man it's just she makes you want to protect her, you know?"
Seiji nods. "I can't argue with you there, but let's worry about it after school. We've still got time to make it if we push it!"
Seiji starts running, and issei starts running with him, but Seiji starts pulling away fast "hey Seiji! Wait! I can't keep up!!!" Issei yells out.
(later: kuoh Academy)
Seiji ran towards the gates of the Academy and saw Saji greeting people as they arrive at school. Seiji ran past some people "hi Saji! Bye Saji!" he says as he passes him quickly.
"Morning to you as well, Akiyama! And slow down!" saji yelled to him.
Saji turned and saw issei huffing and puffing and fell face-first on the ground "who the hell is he!? The flash, how is he that fast?" He questions wheezing.
"You good?" Saji asks the hyoudou.
"Yeah, I need a moment."
"Just don't take too long class is going to start soon." saji cautions and enters the school grounds.
(later: lunchtime)
Charles, susanna, and Haruka were outside and getting ready to have lunch until someone bumped into Charles, causing him to spill his drink on the ground.
"Oh man, I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking." Seiji bowed and apologized.
"It's okay, don't worry about it. Hey you're the tour guide, right? What was your name again?" Charles asks
"My name is Seiji Akiyama. And you three are Kazuhiko, aimi, and Akane," he answers.
"Yeah, sorry about forgetting." Charles apologizes.
"Don't worry about it. People forget my name often enough. It's become something of a regular occurrence." Seiji shrugs.
"Hey, we're about to have lunch. If you'd like to join us?" Charles offers.
"Sure! Thanks for the invite." Seiji says and goes with them.
Little did the four know the cogs of fate were in motion them meeting before was not just coincidence it wasn't chance but rather fate. This was the beginning of a new team of exceptional individuals. (A/N: refer to chapter three for their first meeting)
(time skip: a few days later)
Seiji had been hanging around with Kazuhiko, Akane, and aimi the past few days, and they were pretty cool once he got to know them. Kazuhiko wasn't the typical princely guy that girls fawn over, but he did carry himself in such a way that he seemed almost regal; aimi was kind of aloof and didn't say much, but he chalked that up to her not knowing him well enough to speak with him freely and Akane well she was he didn't know how to put it into words she was interesting was the furthest he'd go.
They were getting ready to leave the school grounds as Charles had invited Seiji over to their home when suddenly issei came running up, "seiji! Seiji! Please, I need your help! It's urgent!" He says through gasps.
"Woah! Woah! Okay, could you slow down and tell me what's going on?" Seiji asks.
Issei takes a moment to catch his breath and pulls Seiji aside "they took her! They took Asia! The fallen angels!" he whisper yelled.
"What?! Are you serious? Oh man, that's not good."
"Please, I'm begging you, man I need you now more than ever. I can't do this on my own; please help me." issei asks pleadingly
"Okay, do you have a plan?" Seiji asks.
"We go to think church kick their asses and take Asia back. What's there to plan?"
"It's not that simple, and I'm sorry you're a fool if you think it is. We need to have a plan. We can't just go in all crouching tiger hidden dragon." Seiji points out.
"Okay, brainiac, then since you're saying we need a plan, what's the plan?"
"Meet me at this location later tonight. I think I have an idea be ready bring any essentials you might need and meet me here later tonight." Seiji texts issei the location, and issei looked like he was about to cry.
"Thanks so much, man! You're a true pal; you know that? Just thanks so much. I'll be ready!" Issei assured as he ran off.
Seiji walks back to the trio, and Charles looks at him "what was that all about?"
"You wouldn't believe me even if I told you."
"Try us," Charles says
"Okay... Oh man, where do I begin?" Seiji ponders.
"The beginning is always the best place." Haruka snarks
"Oh, hahaha! But okay, sure, so it started like this..." Seiji proceeded to explain everything about what happened with issei and the fallen angel and how she had kidnapped Asia.
"So you saved issei from getting killed by a fallen angel, in turn later you guys met a nun, and that nun has been kidnapped by the fallen angel you saved him from, correct?" Haruka asks.
"Yes, that is correct."
"You need some help?" Charles asks
"If you would, I would greatly appreciate it! Look, meet me at this location later tonight. I've got a plan. I've got to go home and prepare some things." he told them the location and left, and the trio did the Same.
(later that night:)
Seiji was waiting outside the location with a bow and a quiver full of arrows and a knife, he waited in front of the entrance to the sewer, and the first to show up was issei, but he wasn't alone. Seiji saw kuoh's prince Yuuto Kiba and the school's mascot koneko toujou with him.
"I see you brought some extra hands well; the more manpower we have, the higher our chances of success are," Seiji says.
"Let me introduce you three. Kiba, this is Seiji. He's a friend and Seiji this is kind he's a part of the peerage I'm in, and this is koneko she's also a part of the peerage." issei says.
Seiji nods and shakes Kiba's hands "good to meet you."
"Likewise, I wish the circumstances weren't so dire," Kiba says with his usual charming smile.
Seiji looks at koneko and nods koneko nods back, and the four wait for the others.
After a few minutes, Charles, Susanna, and Haruka arrive.
"Alright, everyone is here. I'm not going to beat around the bush. We all know why we're here, so here's my plan. Year's ago, kuoh was struck by a tsunami that devastated kuoh and put half the town below sea level; a construction crew was tasked with removing the rubble, but instead of removing it, the team instead opted to build over the ruins, the church that was there before is still here it's just buried below there's a way to get to the ruins of the old church, and that's through the sewer system. I've got it all mapped out." he showed them.
"This is a pretty good plan, not bad, Akiyama-Kun." Kiba praises.
Charles takes a look and nods in agreement "not bad, not bad at all."
"Well, we're all ready, then let's go." Seiji pulls the maintenance hole cover-up and moves it "one at a time." Charles says.
One by one, they all went down into the sewer and started walking, and when everyone was below, they began to walk Seiji thankfully brought a flashlight and was shining the light, so no one tripped and fell little did they know they were being watched.
Seiji felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up, but why?
They kept walking, and eventually, and soon enough, they were nearly at their destination "we're nearly there once we reach that left; it'll be a straight shot from there." Seiji says.
Soon Seiji sees someone ahead with their arms crossed looking at them "you kids took one hell of a wrong turn to end up here on my turf." the person says from afar.
They were obscured by darkness. The only way they could tell was they could make out the silhouette.
"Hey, look, man, we don't want any trouble, alright? Our friend is in danger, and she needs our help. Just let us pass!" issei yells out.
"You may not want trouble, but you've found it." the voice says menacingly.
Issei, having had enough steps forward and summons the boosted gear, "that's it. I guess I'll have to move you by force!"
Issei stands before the person shrouded in darkness "you don't want this fight." issei says, trying his best to sound harsh.
"Oh, but I assure you I do." the person says.
The person, without warning, grabs issei and slams him against the wall hard, knocking the wind out of him.
Issei groans in pain and tries to stand up but almost immediately falls to the ground again.
"Issei!" Kiba rushes forward to save his comrade; however, after a few seconds, Kiba came flying out from the shadows and landed next to koneko.
Kiba groans "he's strong, really really strong. I think he's even stronger than you, koneko."
Koneko picks Kiba up by his arm and throws his arm over her shoulder, holding him up
Seiji peers into the darkness "look, take my map. I mapped out a few other routes we could take in the event of something unforeseen happening. It all has the same convergence point, and that's the old church." he whispers to Kazuhiko.
"But what about you?!"
"He's just going to chase us. I'll draw his attention and buy you guys time to escape. Asia needs help asap. There's no time for talking, not now." Seiji says as suddenly issei came flying out of the darkness, groaning.
Charles helps issei up and nods, "good luck and don't die."
Koneko nods "go get him."
The others followed after Charles as he started leading them away, and the mysterious attacker attempted to give chase, but Seiji stood blocking his way "you're not getting through me." he says.
"You think you can beat me, kid? Do you want to die today? I mean, I was most likely going to kill you anyway, but you're just making your demise quicker." the attacker says.
Seiji shakes his head. "believe it or not, I don't want to fight you, but if I must, I will defend myself. Is there no way we can just part here and now?"
The attacker laughed "no. No going back now, kid. This is what you wanted. You wanted to play hero well, now is your chance you pray for the rain you gotta be willing to deal with the mud too."
The attacker steps out of the shadows and into the light and what seiji saw was shocking. Was it a humanoid crocodile? It towered over Seiji had more muscle than him, and he appeared to have superhuman strength.
The attacker looks at Seiji "you're not going to try and run away? Aren't you scared?"
"I am. I'm not going to sell it to you. I am scared out of my wits right now, but that doesn't mean I can't fight back!" Seiji declares as he draws his knife.
The attacker tsked, "your funeral, kid!" he charges at Seiji to attack him, and Seiji runs at the attacker. The two combatants are on a collision course. "RAAAAAAA!" both let out a battle cry.
