The Dwarf was feeling restless, but that was nothing new since learning of the surface dwelling Shadow Person.

They had stumbled across that… Thing… While seeking shelter from a sudden summer storm.

They had been exploring Cindersap Forest, looking for twigs and other supplies the caves couldn't provide when a sudden gale blew in from the sea, whipping up vicious winds accompanied by chilling rain.

The Dwarf liked rain well enough, so long as they weren't caught in it.

The mountains were a long trek from Cindersap, a trek that would surely leave them drenched to the helm should they have attempted it. The day was still young however, so the Dwarf figured it'd be safe to take refuge in the sewers to wait out the storm…

And that was where they ran into the thing.

They fought, viciously, as mortal enemies were to do…

For all of thirty seconds before the Farmer got between them, the Dwarf could forgive the Farmer for meddling, the Farmer did often enough, they were human, they couldn't know better.

But then the fucking Wizard had to stick his big stupid nose in their business and curse them to be civil with their mortal enemy!

But they could adapt, they had been adapting all their lives…

And the key to adapting was finding the limits.

Such as, whether or not 'accidentally' causing a small rockslide to 'hopefully' send the damn shadow creature currently standing by the edge of the Big Pond into said Big Pond where he would maybe drown?

Went against the little jinx the Wizard put them under.

Whelp. Only one way to find out.

The first rock to tumble down solidly smacked into the back of the shadow person's head, and similarly, as the dark creature hissed in pain, drawing a hand to the back of it's head to soothe the wound, They also felt a sting of pain…

It didn't take a genius to figure out the exact schematics of the Wizard's jynx.

Not did it take long for that damn shadow folk to turn and look up at the approaching barrage of rubble heading it's way.

The Dwarf cursed the Wizard under their breath as they watched the shadow folk dive out of the way of the falling stone and dirt, a few smaller rocks managed to strike it still, but most just tumbled on by and into the pond.

The Dwarf's shoulder and hip and side began to burn in time with the shadow creature's as it threw itself to the side, skidding along the rough ground to clear the rubble before any more damage could be done.

When things quieted, the shadow person let out a trembling sigh of relief before it's eyes wandered back towards the slope, settling on the Dwarf above.

The Dwarf narrowed their eyes at the shadow person before they turned away, sure that the message they had sent was crystal clear to the dark beast still laying in the mud of the pond bed.

They made sure not to touch their aching side until they were back within the cave.

They couldn't show weakness.
