Chapter 7
The next morning when Jax and I got to the clubhouse, Pops was yelling at everyone that he could. He was just as shocked as we were that Donna was suing Ope for custody. Pops was really upset. We were having a hard time getting him to calm down so Ope ended up drugging him with a sedative.
While the boys were settling Pops down, I was wiping down the bar when I looked up at the camera monitor and saw none other than Tara Knowles pull into the parking lot. "Oh hell no!" I muttered to myself. I made my way out to the parking lot. "What the hell are you doing here?" I asked her.
"Where's Jax?" She asked me.
"None of your business." I said, crossing my arms.
She mirrored me. "And how is it yours?"
"Because Jax and I are together and I'm not gonna let you hurt him anymore." I told her.
She looked shocked when I told her about Jax and I. It wasn't long before I heard Jax's voice. "What are you doing here Tara?" He asked her, coming up to stand beside me.
"I needed to talk to you." She said.
Jax threw an arm around my shoulders. "We have nothing to talk about." He said.
"You're really gonna pick her over me?" She asked.
Jax looked down at me and I gave him a smirk. "Yeah I am." He said. Tara scoffed. She turned around, got in her car and left. I turned to Jax and crossed my arms. "I had no idea that she nor did I ask her to come." He said.
"I thought she was leaving Charming and going back to Chicago." I said.
Jax threw his hands up in surrender. "That's what she said."
I stormed off, getting in my car and headed home. When I walked in my front door, I grabbed my bottle of tequila out of my freezer and sat on the couch and started drinking. I couldn't believe that Tara had the nerve to show up today. Had she been bluffing when she'd told Jax that she was leaving Charming? I knew what I needed to do.
I pulled my phone out of my back pocket and flipped it open. I scrolled through my contacts until I found the number that I was looking for. "Yeah?" He said when he answered.
"I need a favor. I need you to get me every bit of information that you can on Tara. Anything and everything." I said.
"Get it to you as soon as I can." He said and hung up.
I leaned my head against the back of the couch. I had this feeling that Tara was hiding something. And I was going to find out what it was. Jax and I were together now, there was no way that I was going to let Tara get in his head again.
