If it hadn't been for the contract, Courtney would probably be somewhere else. Maybe trying to relax in her new cheap apartment after everything that she had to go through in just one single season.

Don't get her wrong, Total Drama has been hell since the first time she set foot in Camp Wawanakwa but that damn airplane destroyed her completely. She lost every single thing: her boyfriend, her friend (whose memory made Courtney want to punch a wall), her reputation and her opportunity to win one million dollars.

And as if everything could not be worse, now she has to deal with the premiere of the new damn season.

Going to the premiere for Island and Action was something that she didn't mind in the past, mostly because after the first season she was still naïve about reality shows and how they worked while after the second season she just cared about her (not so new) return with Duncan.

But the premiere for World Tour is certainly something else: not only she has to see the other contestants (especially The Bastard andrThe Boyfriend Kisser), but she also has to deal with the other people's opinion about her miserable relationship.

That's one of the worst things about being famous, according to Courtney, since that was the first thing that made the cheating mess a lot worse. Every single person wanted to say their opinion and no, they weren't very kind while expressing it: in fact, Courtney (even though her therapist told her not to) read everything that was posted online and that was linked with the love triangle. First mistake. A lot of people were actually pleased with Duncan cheating on Courtney because they believed that she deserved it for her behavior with Duncan.

That's the moment when Courtney stopped checking every single thing related to her.

And she was doing good, until Chris emailed her about the premiere. That fucking premiere.

Like Chris explained in the email, every contestant had to arrive at a specific time. Courtney understands the reason only after her arrival on the red carpet filled with paparazzi. And that's because not even two minutes later, Duncan and Gwen make their entrance.

They are holding hands and, to Courtney's surprise, they are smiling while looking very in love. She can only feel disgusted. Obviously they caught her off guard, making her react to that scene as Chris (as the sick person that he is) wanted. It meant only adding drama to the drama. And Courtney knows that her reaction will be the main topic in the Total Drama blogs.

Following the tradition, as they did for every single premiere before, every contestant had to stand on the red carpet while waiting for everyone. And since Courtney was one of the first people to arrive, now she has to wait for the others standing near her ex boyfriend and ex friend.

The most ironic thing is that Gwen (once again) is in the middle of the ex lovers, even if she probably didn't even notice.

On the other hand Courtney thought that she can't proclaim herself as the lucky one of the night. Or maybe of her whole life.

She knows that Duncan and Gwen didn't even glanced at her when they first arrived. Because they moved on, unlike Courtney. And she knows that she mustn't give them the importance they don't deserve, but the wound is still open and it's difficult to close it as if nothing hadn't happened.

Maybe the only thing that she could learn from this shitty night is to finally let the ground go. Be a better person in this whole mess. And finally move on.

Little did she know that Duncan was very subtle, but also very successful, in looking at her during the whole night without making anyone notice him. Because he still cares, but only he knows that.
