This is a fun story for thanksgiving. So, happy thanksgiving, or happy random Thursday, assuming you're not from America :)

Carter Kanes POV

So, first thanksgiving at Brooklyn House went, well, weirdly. How weirdly? How about Dad and Uncle Amos's maternal cousins who we never knew existed came, and tied my uncle upside down, and later interrogated him. And did I mention they mostly work internationally, as monster fighters?

Should explain the whole day. So, after we saved the world, we decided to do a thanksgiving thing with Uncle Amos as everyone was going home for the week. Which he accepted immediately. I thought Sadie was going to have to force him, but he was surprisingly easy to convince.

He came the day before, and enjoyed breakfast with me, Sadie, and Zia. Zia was staying as she didn't have anyone to go home to. The others left to visit home. As we ate, we heard a noise. It came from inside the house. Uncle Amos got up to deal with it.

And instantly got caught up in a booby trap. Me and Sadie raced in, with Zia at our heels. A brown-haired young woman was sitting in front of where the ropes held him up to. She wore a black zip up top, and leather pants, with the finishing touch of hooks on her belt. She smiled at him, almost playfully.

"BEATRICE! REALLY?!" Uncle Amos shouted a bit too loudly. "Why did you do that?"

"I like it when your confused as to your situation, Little One." The woman named Beatrice said.

"Um, who are you?" Sadie asked.

Uncle Amos groaned inwardly.

"Kids, I have something to tell you: Your father and I have seven cousins on our mother's side, all of which are not close to your dad as they may or may not have kidnapped me once after I got hurt in my leg, which is a story for another day, so he never told you about them, or let them near either of you." Uncle Amos said.

I frowned. Of course that was what was going on.

"I brought the other girls BTW. Except Amanda, she is going to Columbia to spend quality time with her daughter. And we like to joke Ariel and Amanda count as one, due to the fact they were adopted at the same time."

Just then, five other women came out of hiding, and smirked. I took a good look at all of them.

The woman by the weapons rack had super blonde hair, like so blonde it was white, and wore an outfit that had almost invisible scales, and she had brilliant green eyes.

Another woman was by the TV and had long hair I decided was dyed blue. Her eyes were a pretty shade of blue, and she had a stone around her neck, and wore a star sweater and jeans, with blue boots. Either way, she looked like a fighter.

Another woman by the door had long dark hair, and had a black trench coat, a black hat, and in general, looked like a warrior.

The next woman was by the stairs, and she was a brown-haired woman who looked to be of Mexican or Spanish descent. She had a light coat on, with boots similar to those of Sadie, and she had a shotgun on her back, which was the least surprising thing so far.

Finally, an African American woman with dark hair like Uncle Amos stepped out of the balcony across from where Uncle Amos was still tied up.

Actually, she looked the most like Amos. Her smirk was as big as her belly. I realized she was pregnant.

"Ok, girls, let little Amos down."

I snorted. They were calling the Chief Lector, Eye of Set, our Uncle Amos little.

Beatrice untied him quickly. He fell, but the girls caught him, and bound him again before he could get up.

"Hey! Let me go you punks!"

"You haven't called us in months, so consider it payback for worrying us."

Uncle Amos growled, but didn't speak. I raised my hand.

"Um, can we have introductions? I'm getting a headache." I said.

"Ok." Beatrice said. "Blonde is Ariel, our resident water user. Blue haired lady is Coraline, the best with magic. Trenchcoat girl is Diane, a fighter who you don't want to mess with, who also helped out during World War two in the village of Veld, destroying monsters about to feed on the bodies of the dead. Next up is shotgun girl, Esperanza, our best fighter, and then finally, last but certainly not the least is Fiona. A viscous warrior, master of necromancy, and the one you really don't want to make mad. And I am Beatrice, master of traps."

I whistled; this was quite the group.

"When Amos was still living with us, we used to baby and protect him. As your grandpa was quite the psychopath. Good thing he died, to be completely honest."

They then dragged Uncle Amos away, his legs still bound, as was most of his torso.

"Where are you taking him?" Sadie asked.

"Back to the table. We are not planning to untie him anytime soon, but we will let him eat."

I followed along, as they set Amos back up. They untied his hands, but under the condition that he behaved. He grumbled, but didn't say anything. I giggled. The scene was ridiculous: Uncle Amos, Chief Lector of The House of Life, bound and being babied by his cousins.

We got back to eating, Khufu looking like he was the most confused he had ever been in his life. One of the girls, Coraline, smiled, and tried to spoon feed him, but he smacked her hand away.

"Be good Amos. Let her feed you a bit, and maybe we can untie you sooner." Fiona said.

Sadie burst into laughter, as did I. We couldn't help it. Uncle Amos looked like he wanted to murder them. But he silently consented to being spoon fed some food. But he did pout a bit.

Okay, a lot. He just looked so done with them. I could see why he never told us about them. He probably didn't want us to witness this.

Zia looked like she wanted to help, but probably knew better, considering who she was in the presence in.

"Amos, just be glad we didn't kidnap you like last time you decided to not call us for an extended period of time." Fiona said.

They finished feeding him later, and one of the women took him away.

"Now what are you doing?" Sadie asked.

"Checking his health. We will not allow Amos to hide any illnesses and injuries any time soon."

"Why do you baby him like this?" Zia asked.

"We don't want him to be too independent. Means he may call less and less often. Which could result in him trying to do something stupid and reckless."

Ok, semi good reason, but he didn't deserve to be embarrassed in front of his own niece and nephew.

"Fiona, can you get them to back up a bit on the babying? At least don't do everything you guys do when you used to baby him." I spoke up.

"Okay, Pharoh, but I do have one condition: You and Sadie will come to our secret hideout before the Demon Days and allow us to baby you two a bit. Fair deal?"

Sadie and I looked at each other. It was a crazy move, but Uncle Amos didn't deserve this kind of embarrassment. We said yes to the deal. Zia looked stunned, and dragged us away.

"Are you mad? They tied up Amos and spoon fed him like he was a child. Do you really think you can tolerate hat treatment for a few days?"

"Yes. I honestly kind of like the idea. Could say it's a vacation." I said.

"Yeah, and plus, you can watch the place for that, don't you think?" Sadie said.

"OK, but please be careful. Id kind of prefer that you two are ok when you get back."

"We will. Promise."

We went back up to where the adults were. They had dragged Amos back, and Fiona was explaining what was up.

"Seriously? They agreed to that?" Uncle Amos asked.

"Yeah, because we could tell you were a bit embarrassed. And plus, consider it family bonding." I said.

"Ok, fine, as long as it was of your free will to accept." Uncle Amos said.

"Come on, lets watch the parade." Coraline said, turning on the TV.

We sat down to watch it. Uncle Amos looked ok, but he seemed to be annoyed. I decided he was still embarrassed. We cuddled into him. The girls talked a bit. I smiled. Thanksgiving this year was weird, yet amazing.
