Chapter 13

Cersei Lannister POV

Thanksgiving is coming up in just a couple weeks. I'm really excited to go back home, I've missed being at Winterfell with all my friends. I'm not even sure about college at all at this point, it really isn't what I expected.

Jaime is on the phone with father outside, I'm working on schoolwork on my laptop in the living room. "We're on for Thanksgiving," Jaime says, walking into the apartment. "I just confirmed."

"Who all will be there?" I ask him.

"Besides father and Tyrion it'll be Shae and a bunch of people from father's firm. I'm sure you can invite Dany if you want to."

"I probably will," I respond. "I can't imagine being stuck there with our idiot of a brother, his girlfriend and a bunch of lawyers."

"You should call her sooner rather than later," Jaime says. "That way she won't have any other plans."

"Yeah, you're right." I step outside and call Dany. She answers after a couple rings.

"Hello?" She asks.

"Hi Dany," I respond. "It's Cersei."

"Hey girl, what's up?"

"Do you want to come to the Lannister Thanksgiving? A lot of people from father's law firm will be there and I know I'll be bored to death."

"Oh, um, I don't think I can."

"Why not?" I ask. "You usually come to Thanksgiving at our place."

"I just, don't think it'll be good for my dad to be around crowds."

"Well can't you come by?" I don't see what her dad has to do with this.

"I can't just leave my dad alone," she responds. "He doesn't really have anywhere to go. I was going to maybe spend an hour or so with Jon's family but I was going to spend the rest of the time with my dad."

I'm kind of irritated, it seems like she hardly wants to see me anymore. I wish she wasn't so obsessed with Jon, maybe then she would want to hang out with me more.

"Whatever," I say. "I should've known you wouldn't stop by."

"Cersei!" She sounds mad at me. "That doesn't mean we can't hang out, you know I want to see you."

"I'll talk to you whenever." I hang up. I go inside and pour myself a drink.

"What did she say?" Jaime asks me.

"She has plans with Jon," I respond. "Of course."

"That makes sense," Jaime says. "They're dating."

"I don't want to hear it, Jaime. She clearly values her relationship with him more than she does her relationship with me."

"Cersei, you know that isn't true. She just has a lot to juggle." He may be right, but it still frustrates me. We sit on the couch and watch TV for the rest of the evening.

Jaime Lannister POV

I'm hanging out with Bronn one night at he and Jorah's apartment. Jorah's not with us, he went to the library to study and finish up a paper. Bronn and I are just chilling in the living room, drinking beers.

"So are you and Cersei going home for Thanksgiving?" He asks me.

"Yeah," I respond. "What are you doing?"

"I'm just going back to see my parents," he says. "I thought you and Cersei didn't love your family."

"We don't, but we do miss our high school friends that still live there. Cersei's best friend lives there."

"Oh, Daenerys, right?" Bronn asks. I'm surprised he remembered her name.

"Yeah," I respond. "I'm surprised you remembered."

"Jorah thought she was really pretty."

"I thought maybe you did."

"No," Bronn responds. "I mean, Daenerys is pretty, but Cersei is more my type?"

"What?" I ask. I didn't expect him to say that.

"Sorry if that's weird for you," he responds. "But I do think Cersei's pretty and I wouldn't turn her down if she wanted to go out with me."

"Oh, I don't think she would."

"Really?"

"Yeah, she likes you enough. She just isn't really focused on dating right now." He pauses and just looks at me.

"You seem really protective of Cersei," he finally says. "What's that about?"

"She's my sister, she's my twin," I respond. "We've always been close."

"Is that all it is?" He asks. "You guys seem awfully close."

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"I guess I'm just wondering about it. After knowing you guys for the past couple months, you seem closer than most siblings I know."

I pause and look at him. Bronn is the closest friend I've had in a while, and I feel like I can trust him. Plus, I need someone to confide in that isn't my sister.

"Don't tell anyone," I finally say quietly. "Please, it would ruin our lives."

"So it's true?" He asks. "There's more between you guys?" I just nod.

"It's okay, man," he continues. "I won't tell anyone. I can't say I fully understand, but I have no room to judge you with some of the things I've done in my life." That makes me feel a lot better, it's just not the reaction that I expected. I hope he means what he's saying and I really can trust him.

Sansa Stark POV

I can't believe Ramsay is still finding a way to hurt and terrorize me. Our relationship ended, and I don't blame him for being angry at Jon even though he deserved to be beaten up. I'm so scared of Ramsay, I'm so scared he'll try to have sex with me again. Maybe Jon's right, maybe I do need to take charge and actually try to do something about this myself.

One day I'm leaving lunch and I see Theon by his locker without Ramsay. That's rare, he's almost always by Ramsay's side. I decide to walk up to him, maybe he can actually help me.

"Theon," I say, walking up to his locker. "Can I ask you for a favor?"

"Really?" He looks really surprised to see me, which makes sense since we never really talk.

"Yeah, can you tell Ramsay to stop bothering me?"

"Why do you want me to do that?" He asks me.

"Well, you're like Ramsay's best friend," I respond. "He would listen to you, wouldn't he?"

"Not really. If I tell him to leave you alone, he'll just laugh at me and it won't make him actually want to do it."

"I don't know what else to do, Theon," I say. "I thought at least you would help me. You and Jon used to be so close."

"Sansa?" He takes a deep breath. "Honestly, it'll be easier on both of us if you just let him do what he wants. It's much harder if you try and defy him, trust me."

"He threatened me, and I don't know what that means. What if he tries to actually hurt me?"

"It'll be much worse if you try to fight him, I know that all too well."

"But—" I start to argue with him.

"I have to go." He walks away, and the bell rings signaling lunch to end.

I can't believe Theon responded to me like that. I really thought he would help me, but he essentially told me to roll over and take whatever Ramsay throws at me. I definitely won't do that. I'll fight off Ramsay, with or without anyone else's help.

Jon Snow Stark POV

Robb is coming to town with Talisa for Thanksgiving this year again, and they're seeing Talisa's family for Christmas. I like them together a lot, Robb seems really happy with her. Dany and I are spending part of Thanksgiving with my family and part of the day with her dad, and we're doing the same for Christmas.

"Do you know what you want for Christmas?" Dany asks me one day when we're hanging out on her couch.

"Honestly, just your company," I respond, squeezing her hand. I do mean it, but I'm also trying to go out of my way to show her how much I care about her.

"You're sweet," she says. "But seriously, I want to get you something."

"Surprise me, you know me well enough by now. What do you want?"

"I just want my dad to continue getting better, that's all I want. But you can surprise me too." There's a pause for a second.

"Oh, by the way," Daenerys continues. "I wanted to ask you about an idea I have."

"Okay," I respond. "What is it?"

"I was thinking we could invite my dad to Thanksgiving at your house, if it's okay with your parents. He said he likes your dad and he hasn't talked to him in a while."

"I'm not sure that's a good idea, Dany. I mean, I would totally be down for it, but I'm not sure my dad would agree to it."

"Don't you think it would be a great way for the families to get to know each other more?" She asks. "It might help your dad be more approving of our relationship. It would mean a lot to me if you at least asked him."

I think about it for a second, maybe she has a point. "Okay," I say. "I'll ask, but I can't promise anything."

"Thank you, Jon." She gives me a hug.

When I get home, my dad is playing outside with Bran and Rickon. "Hey, Jon," he says to me when I get out of the car.

"Can I talk to you for a second?" I ask him.

"Sure," my dad says. "I'll be right back, boys." We go out to the back porch and sit down.

"What is it?" My dad asks me.

"Daenerys wanted me to ask you if we can invite her dad over to have Thanksgiving dinner with us," I say. "He doesn't have really anywhere else to go, and he said he would love to talk to you again."

"Jon…" my dad says after a deep breath.

"It would really mean a lot to her," I say, cutting him off. "Can't you at least try to support us?"

"Fine," he says after thinking for a minute. "If it really means that much to you, then he can come."

"Thank you." We get up and dad goes back outside with the boys. I feel like this is a victory, even if he was reluctant to agree. Maybe this is the first step needed to bridging the gap between my dad and Daenerys.

A/N: I know the plot for this story is getting a little out there, I hope you guys are still enjoying it :). Let me know what you've thought of the last couple chapters.
