A little one shot I made, since I was bored. I hope you like it.
The year was 171 on the Imperial Liberty Calender. The Southern Empire of Japan was being invaded by its Northern neighbour, the Northern Principality of Japan.
Japan had been split into two, ever since the Pacific war. The Great Imperial Order of Japan waged a war of aggression toward its East Asian brethren, massacaring many in their way.
The American Empire, staying true to its principles declared war on Japan along with the Federal Union of Eurasia, led by the Confederation of France, to stop Japan's atrocities.
Kyushu, Kanmon Bridge
The Southern Empire was not prepared for such an invasion, they all had been pushed back to the island of Kyushu. What's left of the Southern Army, was defending Kanmon bridge.
"Hey, did you hear, the Americans are sending in reinforcements from the mainland." Mirai Tadano says.
"Really, I thought they wouldn't even send a garrison here." Sousuke Miyamoto says.
"I'm serious, I had the brass from the tents say that themselves." Mirai tells him.
"Then we really are saved." Sousuke sighs in relief.
"Why do you think the Americans are coming to help us?" Touma Kururugi asks the two, coming from behind.
"Why do you think? The Americans have a huge saviour complex, since we are being invaded by a big bad country, the Americans will come in save the day." Mirai says lightly.
"No, that was when George the Great ruled America. Now they're just doing this to stop the Federal Union from expanding it's borders." Touma corrected.
"Then why did they declare war on us, when we went to war against China?" Sousuke asked.
"You do realise, we did our atrocities publicly." Touma reminded.
"Oh yeah, your right. Emperor's be damn." Sousuke says, remembering the old photos he saw from his teens.
"All hands to battle stations, Northern forces are approaching!" The speaker announced, getting Touma and everyone to their positions.
As the Southern Army, was preparing to defend the Kanmon bridge, Tanks from the Northern army can be seen from the distance. The Tanks started crossing the bridge, the Southern were done preparing for the attack.
The Commander of the Principality Army, is seen on top of a tank turret observing the battlefield. The commander was seen to be of European origin, mostly resembling those of the Slavs of Poland.
He was the great Captain Casimir Kowalski, a War Hero from the Great European Civil war. Considered as a legend among legends of the modern world, Casimir Kowalski, has made great feats throughout his lifetime. Now he has been sent to the Japanese Archipelago, to unify help the Northern Principality unite with its Southern sister, through forceful means.
"Captain, we are now in range." The Tank commander informs.
"Fire." Casimir orders.
The commander nods in return. "Shageki Kaishi."
The gunner complies, and starts firing the main gun at the Southern forces, followed soon by the rest.
The Southern Army duck down to avoid enemy fire. After the first rounds of shots were done, the Southern forces opened fire on the Northern tanks.
Bank at the command tent of the military commanders stationed to defend kanmon bridge, the commanders were in a panic as they just received word of the Principality sending in French Mirage IV bombers.
"This is bad," A Japanese commander says. "How long until the Americans get here?"
"We have yet to receive word of their arrival." Another Commander informs, Worrying the other commanders.
"Any word from Kumamoto?" A commander asks.
"Nothing, they plan on surrendering to the North." The Japanese Genral, Setsuna Kururugi, tells them much to their dismay.
"Outrageous, we can't let the French take over our Japan." A commander shouts.
"His right." Another commander agreed.
The other commanders all agreed with what Major General Hiryuu Kozuki. They all as well even decided to launch a military coup against Kumamoto. General Kururugi, slammed his fist on the table in disagreement.
"Have you gone mad, Kozuki!?" He asks the hot-headed General.
"If it means to stop the French from occupying, Japan, I would gladly do so." Hiryuu tells him, taking out his gun and pointing at Kururugi.
Soon, every commander started pointing their guns at each other. Before someone could pull the trigger and start a bloodbath, a Soldier came in rushing.
"Northern bombers, have been spotted." The Soldier warns the Japanese High command.
The warning was enough for the commanders to get back to their senses and put down their guns.
"How many?" General Kururugi asks.
"Around 15-20 bombers, sir." The soldier reports.
"Fuck." Genral Kozuki exclaimed.
"Prepare anti-air defenses, quickly!" Kururugi orders.
"Yes sir." The soldier leaves to inform the Anti air defence units to prepare for battle.
With that, the tent was silent. The Japanese commanders all but sit down, was this the end? They all thought. Is Japan truly lost? Have we failed the Emperor? They all wondered, to them all hope had seemed lost, they were all but destroyed. Japan will now be a French client state.
Outside, M51 Skysweepers, were being manned in position to take out the Northern bombers. They were still not in range of their sights, and they needed to take out those bombers quick.
The defense's down below Kanmon Bridge were holding on, but they were starting to were down, as many men were dying. Ammo was low, and they were already out of anti-tank weapons.
"They put up more of a fight than I thought." Casimir says. Impressed by the South Japanese bravery. "However, being brave doesn't change anything. Press forward."
The orders were sent, and the Tanks from the Northern Army charged at the South Army defences.
"Damn it," Touma cursed. He had survived the initial attacks from the Tanks, the only damage he had sustained was his right ear has gone deaf.
He looked around to see if there was still anyone left around. He looked around and found a knocked up Sousuke laying right behind the sandbags. However he couldn't find Mirai's body any where. Sousuke gets up crouched up to Sousuke. Touma tried to wake him up and Sousuke opened his eyes, relieving Kururugi.
"Huh, Touma, your ok? Wait where's Mirai?" Sousuke asks, looking around for him.
Touma looked away, "I don't know, but I think he might be." He stopped saying anymore before turning back to Sousuke.
"Anyways we have get out of here, the North's about to cross over." Touma says, carrying Sousuke on his shoulders.
As they were getting away, a Tank suddenly appeared right behind them, Touma and Sousuke looked back to see it's gun being at them. They both closed their eyes thinking their about to die. Before the Tank could fire its machine gun, a missile hit the Tank, destroying it.
Touma and Sousuke opened their eyes, soon seeing another barrage of missiles destroying the remaining Tanks.
"Emperor be damned." Sousuke says. Both of them look behind them to see where the missiles came from, they turn to see three American F-15 fighter, dispersing from the scene to attack the rest of the Northern Army.
"It's the American's." Sousuke mutters. He looked in awe at the American fighters. He also regained his hope and was relieved.
"Thank heavens." Touma says relieved.
At sea, the Imperial Continental Pacific Fleet seen near the coast of Kyushu. Allen class destroyers can be seen firing at the coasts of Kyushu toward the retreating Northern Army.
"Direct hit, Northern forces are retreating sir." An officer reports.
"Good, continue with the attack." Admiral Kreigsman tells them.
"Yes sir."
"Get me in contact with the ICS Midway." The Admiral also tells him.
"Yes sir."
Back at the Command tent, the Japanese high command where all partying in relief as the Americans had just arrived in time. Particularly General's Kururugi and Kozuki, who all just were sitting down, all but glad help had finally arrived.
"We can probably reunite with the North, ehh, Setsuna?" Hiryuu asks.
"Maybe, but try not to let hope's up too high, Hiryuu." Setsuna advised his friend. "From what I think, it's going to be a stalemate."
"You think so?" Hiryuu asks. A little skeptic, to Hiryuu, the American reinforcements are going to let them reunite Japan once again.
"Most definitely." Setsuna answered. Hiryuu did not take it seriously.
Though what Setsuna said, was very true. Even after reinforcements from the American Empire, they still couldn't retake all of Japan. At first when the Imperial Continental Army came to their help they pushed them all the way back up to Hokkaido, until the Russian Corps were then sent in to aid the Northern Principality. A stalemate was made on ILC 173 in the middle of Gunma no movement between both sides was made ever since until on ILC 176, a ceasefire order was made by the Northern Principality.
The borders of both South and North were to made at the middle of Gunma. While Tokyo, is to be jointly occupied, as a place of negotiations between the North and South and where the Imperial Family, the Yamato Dynasty, lives. Thus effectively making Tokyo independent.
ILC 176, Southern Empire, Osaka
Though not the Capital of the South, Osaka is still an important economic and influential city in all of Japan. Osaka, was where many Veterans of the now dubbed Reunification war, lived. Including none other than a furious and drunk Hiryuu Kozuki.
"God, Damn it." A drunk Hiryuu threw his bottle of sake. "Damn it, Damn it, DAMN IT!" Hiryuu kept hitting the wall, shouting.
"There you are." Setsuna appeared. "I been looking all over for you." He tries to help Hiryuu get up, only for Hiryuu to reject it.
"Get the hell out sight you, Fucking traitor." Hiryuu pushed Setsuna away. "You let this happen, why, why did you sign that treaty?" Hiryuu asked, still drunk.
"And risk killing more of our people? No, I had to, we would've faced extinction." Setsuna gets up.
"If it means the death of our people, so what. We did not hesitate to do so when the Americans landed on the mainland 15 years ago." Hiryuu argues.
"That was 15 years ago, now we have a new government, one that cares for the wellbeing of our countrymen, instead of expanding our borders." Setsuna tells him, grabbing Hiryuu's collar.
Hiryuu looked at his old friend, betrayed and in disdain. Japan was now divided, and all he could want is peace, peace his foot. Not only has the war ended, but the Imperial Armed forces were all but disbanded, replaced with the Imperial Continental Army, meaning he was dismissed from combat. He rose through pain, blood and horror just to get to the position of Major General, and all of that just vanished in a flick of an eye. Because for Hiryuu, he had lost everything.
Hiryuu took Setsuna's hand off of him. "I hope I never see you again, Setsuna." Hiryuu tells him, leaving the scene.
Setsuna looked behind Hiryuu, as he left, a part of has a bad feeling something bad is going to happen, and knowing Hiryuu, something bad is going to happen.
ILC 286
A hundred and ten years have passed since the ceasefire order, between the North and South. Even though the peace has lasted longer than a century and a decade, tensions between the two have increased. Not only are tensions increasing, a new and rising Superpower arises from the West of Japan. Greater China.
A totalitarian dictatorship, that has been established ever since the Nationalists forces of China had won since the civil war. With a growing military that can rival that of Eurasia, and technological advancements that par with the American Empire, they are the biggest threat to the sovereignty of Japan.
As Setsuna Kururugi had a feeling Hiryuu Kozuki, would do something dumb, did actually do something dumb. Creating a terrorist group called the Japanese Reunification Army, JRA for short. The JRA had continued to target non-Japanese citizens and soldiers that have done nothing wrong, just for the sake of being Non-Japanese.
However this the future, and the future does not come with great changes to humanity. On ILC 230, Humanity created the Cyborn's, the first robots. Created by Cyborn Industries, they were made for helping Humanity do their jobs more effectively. However five years after their creation, they gained sentience. Cyborms began to feel develop self-awareness, which was unexpected. This caused many debates throughout the world. Thinking humans would accept them, the Cyborn's done something risky and asked for rights. This did not go well with the Human countries. The offer was denied, and Cyborn's began being discriminated and destroyed. Because of this discrimination, the Cyborn's revolted on ILC 276, causing a worldwide war. The Cyborn Revolution. Of course the Cyborn's lost, and discrimination against them increased. At this point they were all but facing extinction.
South Japan, Osaka, Public Security Bureau
"Why are you reading a history book?" Chief Kumimoto of the PSB asks his best detective Suzaku Kururugi.
"You told me to to take a break from investigating the Yoshimazu clan, so I'm reading a history book." Suzaku says. Kumimoto takes the book away from Him.
Kumimoto takes a look at the content of the book, only for him to sigh. "Then why is it that case file for the Yoshimazu clan's involvement on the Misurugi incident here?" The ageing police chief asks.
"No reason." Suzaku looks away.
"Listen Suzaku, everyone's worried, you've been on the Yoshimazu clan for years. You haven't slept for the past three days, and as chief of the Osaka PSB I'm ordering you to take a break." Kumimoto orders him.
Suzaku Kururugi, a veteran of the Cyborn revolution. Better yet, a war hero. Nicknamed the Ghost of Fukuoka, feared by many Cyborn's for his sniping skills.
"Like hell, I'll take a break. Yoshimazu are last Yakuza clan in all of Japan, including the North. I ain't stopping until their put to justice." Suzaku tells him.
"Oh, you mean for evicting your apartment, while you were gone for a trip in the American mainland." Kumimoto reminds. Which only made Suzaku mad.
"That was the cheapest apartment I could find in my net worth, and they forced me to find another apartment three times the price!" Suzaku complained.
"And to be fair, Suzaku ain't lying, Chief." Officer Hideyoshi says. Understanding Suzaku. "That was the Cheapest Apartment he could find, that was actually good, and liveable for human life."
"Curse them, I hope they all burn in hell!" Suzaku cursed. Making a tantrum.
"Just go home and gets some rest, Kururugi. It's going to put a strain on you." Kumimoto asks. He has been all but worried for Suzaku, as the investigation on the Yoshimazu clan has been all but unsuccessful. He tried to get him to stop but to no avail, so the best he could do is make him take a break.
"Tch, fine I'll take leave, but once I finish my leave, I'm going back on the case." Suzaku declares, taking his jacket and keys and leaving the building.
"Finally, let's all hope he actually sleeps for the month." Kumimoto says. Every officer and detective of the PSB nod in agreement.
ILC 286, Persian Republic, Teheran, Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces logistics
One of the few nations of Asia that avoided Colonialism from the Americans and Europe, Persia, had overthrown its monarchy for a more democratic form of government. It stood still as one of the most powerful nations in all of the middle East.
"My good friend, we had made such dealings before, but this is a very interesting offer, you have brought to me." Minister Ahmed Shafiq says to the masked man.
"Please, minister Ahmed, I make some the exquisite offers than anyone in the world." The masked man says. His mask making a smile emoji.
"But still such a thing could be considered from fairy tales. It would seem that it was real after all." Ahmed says.
"Agreed, so will you buy her?" The masked man asks. His mask making the emoji raise a brow.
"Well, it ain't cheap. But she could be very useful for sabotage against the Arab Federation." Ahmed said.
"So it's a deal." The masked man held out his hand.
Ahmed smirks. "A deal it is, Ares." Ahmed shakes his hand.
A few minutes later, the deal and everything was finalised. Ares exited the building and entered his jeep. He open the door to the driver's seat, as he sat down back in the drivers seat, he finds DATA, his information Cyborn. Ares knew something went wrong.
"What happened? The product we were planning on selling to the Arab Federation, has escaped." DATA informs. Which made Ares get mad and confused.
"How in the world did she escape?" Ares asks.
"We don't know, she just managed to teleport far away from the facility." DATA concludes.
"Tch, where?" Ares asks.
"South Japan." DATA says. "But we don't know where?"
"Contact the Yoshimazu clan, tell them I got a job offer." Ares tells him.
"Understood." DATA confirm.
Ares take off his mask. Revealing a raven haired man, with violet eyes.
"Also, miss Selina, called. She was wondering what you were up to." DATA tells him.
"Tell her I'm working abroad again." He smirks. "Even after becoming Queen consort, she still calls to check up on me."
"She was the caretaker of the Orphanage you gre up in." DATA reminds him.
"Yeah, yeah. Let's go, DATA." He tells him.
"Why, of course, Lelouch." DATA says in agreement.
Lelouch drives the jeep to the airport, it was due to this incident. The whole future of the world they lived in began to change.
