Chapter 16
Sansa Stark POV
I'm hanging out with Margaery, and then Gendry is picking us up and we're heading to Dany's house. I'm glad Margaery and I are having some alone time, I really want to hear about how things have been going with Gendry.
"Are you excited to see Dany?" I ask Margaery.
"Yeah," she responds. "I don't see her as much as I'd like, even though she's in town. Are you tired of seeing her all the time?"
"I actually don't see her as much as you might think," I say. "Jon usually goes over there, so she isn't around much."
"Really?"
"Yeah, I guess they have more privacy at her place. It makes sense, there's always kids running around at my house."
"I definitely get that," Margaery responds. "I definitely have more privacy at Gendry's place."
"Is it awkward being there, since he lives with Renly?"
"Not really," Margaery says. "Renly and I are cool, and he's still with Loras. We thought it was best to put all that in the past." I didn't know Renly was still with Loras. I don't see them around school much, they mostly try to stay out of the way after what happened last year.
"How are things with Gendry?" I ask Margaery after a pause.
"Things are good," she responds. I expected her to be more excited in her answer.
"Really? You seem unsure."
"I just thought he would be different, I guess."
"Different, how?" I ask. I'm not sure what she means.
"I just thought he would be more hands-on with me, and more affectionate. He's so hot, I figured he was fighting off girls left and right."
"You'd be surprised," I say. "From what Jon has told me, you're his first real girlfriend."
"That's shocking to me," she responds. "I'm nervous to sleep with a virgin."
"I guess you never have?"
"No," she says. "Every guy I've slept with has had experience."
"I know he's into you," I say, even though I don't know that. "I think everything will be okay if you talk and communicate with him."
Margaery chuckles. "I never thought you'd be giving me relationship advice," she says. "Times really have changed." I think that's supposed to be a dig at me, but I smile anyway.
Jon Snow Stark POV
Dany decided to have a winter break party at her house, but it's pretty small. It's just me, Sansa, Margaery, Gendry, Sam and Gilly. She invited Cersei and Jaime of course, but they said they wouldn't be able to make it to town in time.
"Did anyone want anything to drink?" Dany asks the group. She's always a great hostess.
"I'm good," Gilly says. "But thank you." Sansa opens her mouth to say something, but stops when she sees me giving her a look. I still don't feel comfortable with her drinking around me.
"Sansa," Sam says. "I heard Mr. Baelish is dating your aunt now."
"Yeah," she replies. "He was at our house for Thanksgiving."
"Was that weird at all?" Sam asks. "I would feel weird if my teacher was dating someone in my family."
"I guess it's a little odd," Sansa says. "But it's a good thing. He's the one who encouraged my aunt to try to mend her relationship with my mom."
"I guess that's good," Dany says. I really don't want her encouraging this, especially since I know Sansa looks up to her. "It was weird seeing him there, though. It felt really out of place."
"Yeah, I guess I agree," Sansa says. "We only found out he was coming that day, but luckily it all went well. I think everyone had a pretty good time."
Despite all the nice things Mr. Baelish has supposedly done, I've always gotten an off vibe from him, even when I had him as a teacher. Something about him is very slimy, and he gave me the creeps. I don't like the way he looks at Sansa, or the way he talks to her. I'm definitely going to keep my eye on him.
Daenerys Targaryen POV
It feels good to have my friends over again, but I wish Cersei was here. I know it's sad, but I'm starting to wish I was still in high school. I feel like my life was so much easier, and everyone loved me. I didn't have to worry about my future and what could go wrong, I just had to worry about keeping myself popular.
"Tormund is still trying to get with Coach Tarth," Gilly says, continuing the conversation. "Ygritte told me he's been helping her pack up after rock climbing practice every day."
Gendry starts laughing. "He's really determined, huh?" He asks. "He doesn't really think he has a chance with her, does he?"
"Ygritte said he seems to think he does," she responds. "He's delusional, but he's shooting his shot regardless." Sam has his arm around her, and he gives her a kiss on the cheek. They're really cute together, I can tell he really loves her.
"How is Ygritte?" Sam asks Gilly. Jon gets quiet at the mention of her, but I can tell he's trying not to draw too much attention to himself.
"She's good," Gilly responds. "She's super into archery right now, I think she's getting ready for a competition."
"Oh that's cool," Jon says. "I hope it goes well for her."
I feel weird when Ygritte comes up in conversation, even though Jon wasn't the one who brought her up. I know he's going to see her because they have the same friend group, but I wish that wasn't the case. As discussions are dying down, I go into the kitchen and Jon follows me. He hugs me from behind and kisses my neck as I'm pouring a drink.
"Hey," I say. "What's that for?"
"I just wanted to kiss you," he responds. "You look really good tonight."
"Yeah, you don't look to shabby either." I turn around and we start making out. I stop after a bit and look into his eyes. "How drunk are you?" I ask.
"Just a bit," he says. "I know I wasn't supposed to drink tonight."
"It's getting a little late," I say, looking at the clock and seeing that it's 2 a.m. "You and Sansa can crash here if you want."
"That would be helpful." He starts making out with me again.
"Do you want to go back to my room?" I whisper into his ear. He just nods and we go into my bedroom. We proceed to have some of the best sex of my entire life, I rocked his world so hard I bet he wouldn't have remembered Ygritte's name.
Gendry Baratheon POV
I'm in the kitchen getting myself another drink when Margaery walks in. She gives me a hug and kisses my cheek. She's been all over me a lot at this party, which I definitely don't mind.
"I'm glad I'm your girlfriend," she says. "I'm glad we made it official."
"Me too," I respond, kissing her. She keeps kissing me.
"Would you like to go find somewhere more private?" She asks me. I just nod, and we find an empty bedroom in Daenerys' house. She immediately pushes me down on the bed and gets on top of me, which catches me off guard. She takes her shirt and bra off, and helps me take off mine.
"Should I get a condom?" Margaery asks me after we've been fooling around for a while.
"Um," I pause. I want this, but I'm really nervous. "Sure, if you're totally for sure you want to."
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah," I say. "I just—" I have no idea how to say what's on my mind.
"Is it your first time?" She asks me. "It's okay if it is. I kind of figured it was, since you haven't really dated anyone."
"Well, um," I respond. "Not technically."
"What do you mean?"
"You can't tell anyone if I tell you," he says. "I mean it, it wouldn't be good for anyone."
"Okay," she responds. "I promise I won't."
"Over the summer, I was working on tech stuff in the school theater. It was mostly just me, but a couple guys would come in once in a while. One day, Lady Mel kind of pounced on me and one thing led to another."
Her eyes widen. "What?" She asks in shock. "You did it with her?"
"Yes, well, kind of," I respond. "I don't know."
"What do you mean you don't know?"
"It all happened so fast, but yeah I'm pretty sure we did it. Are you a virgin?"
"I'm not," she says. "I lost it a couple years ago." I don't press for details, she'll tell me when she's ready.
"I'm sorry for not telling you," I respond. "I understand if you want to leave."
"I don't," she says after a pause. "I still want to do it with you, if you want to."
"Trust me," I respond. "I do." I really mean that. I like Margaery, and I think this will be a lot of fun. She kisses me before getting up to get a condom out of her purse while I take off the rest of my clothes. I'm excited to do this, even though I'm really nervous. It's something I need to do to get past what happened over the summer.
