Chapter 21

Daenerys Targaryen POV

Tonight is Ygritte's birthday party, and Jon and I decided to go. I don't really want to, but I know he wants to see his friends and I'd rather go with him. I know it'll be awkward, but at least I won't be worried about it.

We knock on the door and Ygritte opens it. "Hey guys," she says. "I'm glad you could make it."

"Happy birthday," I say, handing her the gift that Jon picked out for her. He knows her better than I do, so he got her the gift.

"Thank you," she says. "I also invited Gendry, Margaery and Podrick. I thought it made sense to invite them." I'm not sure what she means by that, maybe she wanted me to have one of my close friends there so I would have someone to talk to. The thought is nice.

Jon goes to talk to Sam and Tormund in the kitchen while I sit down in a chair. Margaery, Gendry and Podrick aren't here yet so it's just me, Ygritte and Gilly in the living room.

"So do you like being out of school?" Gilly asks me. God, I'm so tired of that question.

"Yeah," I say. "It feels weird though."

"Is it weird dating someone that's still in high school?" Ygritte asks me. I feel like that was supposed to be condescending, but maybe I'm reading too much into it.

"Not really," I say quickly. "We get along well, and we're less than a year apart." That shuts her up.

The guys walk out of the kitchen with some bottles. "Who wants to play truth or drink?" Tormund says.

"Me!" Ygritte yells. They all sit on the couch, in chairs and on the floor to make some sort of a circle.

"Okay, Jon," Tormund says. "Who's better in bed, Ygritte or Dany?"

I blush really hard, I know there's no way he's going to answer that. That's confirmed when I see Jon take a tiny sip from the wine bottle since he's driving. God, why would Tormund ask that?

"Who's next?" Jon quietly asks.

"Gilly," Ygritte says. "Why haven't you let Sam hit it?"

"What?" Gilly asks her.

"Come on," Ygritte continues. "It's been over a year, just give it up already. I'm surprised he's waiting this long."

"It's not like he has any other prospects," Tormund says, laughing. "Come on, Ygritte. Think about it."

Gilly just takes a drink to avoid answering the question. God, why are they being like this? Sometimes I can't believe Jon hangs out with these people.

"Podrick," Gendry says. "Are you ever going to tell us what happened with those girls during the Lannister party last year?"

"I've told you," Podrick responds. "That's between me and them."

"Margaery," I chime in. It gets quiet and Margaery looks at me. "Is Gendry a fast learner?" I wink at her, and Gendry blushes. I want to get in on this so they don't think I'm lame or uptight.

"Definitely," she says, winking back. "He's more skilled than you might expect." Gendry blushes even harder.

I hope that was okay, I want to be more tasteful than these assholes but I also want to be part of the conversation. I may avoid social interactions with these people in the future, I don't really like the way they interact with each other.

Jon Snow Stark POV

Everyone is getting kind of drunk and loud, and Dany and I are trying to hold off on the drinking. Even Dany isn't drinking much, even though she's not driving. She probably doesn't want to get too unruly in front of people she doesn't know well. She seems a little uncomfortable here, and I understand why. I told her we didn't have to come, but I think she wanted to to prove a point that she wasn't jealous. I give her a look and walk into the kitchen, she follows me.

"Do you want to go?" I ask her.

"Only if you want to," she says, shrugging. "We don't have to."

"You don't have to do this," I say. "Just say the word and we'll leave."

There's a long pause. "I kinda do want to leave," she says. "I just don't know these people very well."

"Okay," I say. "Let's go then."

We walk outside, and Jon lets everyone know we're heading out.

"Are you sure?" Tormund asks. "It's not that late."

"Yeah," I say. "We just wanted to stop by and say hi." We say goodbye to everyone and then get into the car.

"Thank you," Dany says as we get into the car. "I just wanted to get out of there."

"I hope you weren't too uncomfortable."

"It wasn't too bad," she says. "I just thought I was cool with hanging out with Ygritte, but I don't think I am."

"I totally get that," I respond. "I'll avoid one-on-one situations with her, but we may be at the same social things here and there." I can't promise her I'll cut off contact with Ygritte completely, I can't avoid that entire friend group.

"That makes sense," Dany says. "She's not a bad person, I just don't think we can be friends. Plus I think she still has feelings for you."

"Why do you say that?"

"She still invites you to things and talks to you a lot, she wants to drive your car and hang out with you. Plus, you broke up with her. It makes sense she'd still be hanging onto some stuff there."

"I don't know," I say. "I'd argue that I have just as much reason to potentially be hung up on her. I'm not, but I'm just saying. She was my first."

"Really?" Dany asks me.

"Yeah," I respond. "I thought you knew that."

"I didn't."

"Sorry, I don't want to make you uncomfortable. I just thought you knew." We drive up to her house and I pull into the driveway.

"Do you want me to come in?" I ask. "I know tonight was stressful for you, I get if you want to be alone."

"You can come in," she responds. "If you want to. I could use your company."

"Sure," I say. We go into her house and up to her room. After we set our stuff down, she comes up to me and starts kissing me.

"Are you sure?" I ask. "I don't want you to feel like you have to do anything."

"I'm sure," she says. "I love you, I want you."

"I love you too," I say. "I always want you."

Sansa Stark POV

Jon is at a party tonight with Dany. I kind of wish I could have gone, but it's with some of his other friends that I don't know well. Instead I'm stuck at home studying on a weekend night, which makes me feel like a loser. Arya walks in after her fencing practice and starts putting her stuff away in the closet.

"How was fencing?" I ask her.

"It was good," she says, putting her stuff away. "Syrio says I'm really improving. Maybe I'll do better in the next competition."

"I hope you do," I say. "But you're already really good."

"Not as good as I want to be," Arya says. "I'm not that great, but I appreciate you trying to make me feel better." Arya is too hard on herself. I know that helps her improve, but she should give herself more credit.

I walk downstairs to get a Diet Coke, and my mom is sitting on the couch reading. I root around in the fridge and finally find the Diet Coke hidden in the back.

"Sansa," my mom says as I'm walking by her to go back upstairs. I stop and look at her. "Have you had anything to eat today?"

"Yes, mom," I say. "You know I have."

"No I don't," she says. "I haven't seen you eat today." I haven't eaten, but she can't know that. I'm finally getting good at restricting again, I can't have anyone sabatoging that.

"Well I have," I snap at her. "I promise I have."

"What have you had?"

"I had a protein bar, and some string cheese and a granola bar."

"That's not enough, Sansa."

"Well, I still ate," I say. "So leave me alone."

"Don't talk to me like that, Sansa," she says. "You know I'm just looking out for you."

"Whatever," I say, walking up to my room.

"What was that about?" Arya asks when I walk in. I guess she heard us arguing.

"Mom's on me about eating again," I say. "She wasn't convinced I ate today."

"Did you?" Arya asks me.

"Yes, God," I say. "Please don't do this, Arya."

"Sorry," she says. "I'm just worried about you."

"Well, I'm fine. Please don't do this. I get enough of it from mom."

I know she means well, but it would be better if everyone just left me alone. I need to get back to where I was, weight loss-wise. No one was concerned for me when Ramsay was having his way with me except for Jon, and even that took a while. They can't pick and choose when to be worried about me.

A/N: I'm working on a new story (not GOT)! I'm excited, it's another high school AU from a young adult/teen fandom. I want to see if anyone can guess what fandom…
