8:15 AM – One week later, Beverly Hills High
Liam returned to school, but with fingerless gloves to hide the training blisters and his head completely swallowed in his hoodie.
He felt a bit reluctant to show his face after the fight, mainly because of the attention.
Then he remembered his uncle's words
"…it wasn't the most ideal thing in general, but you stood for what was right. And if you continue to do that, even if you may in trouble for it, it will still be an honorable thing… your mom talked with the school and the mother of the kid you helped, and she, the boy's mother, and I are proud of you."
Liam looked at his fist and nodded to himself.
Meanwhile in class,
Everyone was in their seats, including Clover, Sam, and Alex.
"So, I got word that the student who got into a fight was named Liam, he apparently got transferred several times and got in trouble for fighting" Sam informed the two.
"Yeesh, talk about a bad boy" Clover added.
"Well, at least he might not be totally bad, because he did help somebody trapped in a locker." Alex added.
The teacher spoke nervously "A-a-alright class, we h-h-have a new student."
Liam immediately shook his head, almost expecting the introduction like this.
The student body was confused and somewhat troubled by the teacher's trepid manner of talking.
"Please come in." The teacher asked with hesitation.
Liam agreed out of reluctance and entered.
"Can you please take off your hood?" The teacher asked.
"Yes ma'am"
Liam then took his hood down and everyone was speechless, and some were frightened.
Many murmured to themselves.
"It's that dude," some students said.
Clover looked shocked, Alex widened her eyes and Sam narrowed her eyes a bit.
"So, what is your name?"
Liam in a manner introduced himself.
"Liam"
"Oh…that's a unique name"
"Now Liam, choose anywhere from our beating…I MEAN SEATING!"
The class groaned and cringed.
Liam winced at her unintentional gaffe, which to others looked like rage, with his head down but looked up briefly.
"Yes Ma'am," Liam said letting out a deep sigh.
Liam made his way to one of the seats in the middle of the class. With the rest of the class scurrying away like goldfish in a child's aquarium when a foreign object falls in.
"All right class, chapter 3 of your textbooks."
Liam simply sat down; it was a bit hard to take in what was going on but given when was on the board he had a clue. Liam was no dummy, he had the mind of a 3.2 GPA student, but had problems focusing on the whole shock of what's been happening in his life up until now.
"I wish I didn't have to move as much"
12:30 PM In the cafeteria
Liam made his way to the cafeteria and picked up lunch in the school's kitchen.
As soon as he got his tray and food he went to where the cafeteria tables were. People were staring at him intensely almost as if they were afraid of him.
Liam was unfamiliar with the people around him, but he could tell by the atmosphere in the room that people were too kind of nervous, and thus he found the nearest, most inconspicuous table available.
Liam picked up the cafeteria pizza he got and noticed how wobbly it was before trying it out.
"I hope the pizza here, at least, tastes better than at my last school," He thought.
Then out of nowhere, he heard a voice from a megaphone.
"Hey everyone, I'm running for homecoming queen, vote Clover and all your troubles are over." Clover enthused.
And almost everyone flocked to her booth.
Liam observed the whole thing.
"She seems popular." He thought.
Then another voice came through from another direction, Mandy's.
"Ugh puleeze, CA-LOH-VER, that is so tacky,"
"MANDY!" Clover snarled.
Mandy interjected and swiped the megaphone. "A VOTE FOR MANDY IS DANDY, TAKE A FLYER AND SOME CANDY"
Her friends were passing out fliers, and candy for anyone who would vote for her, and half the people flocked to her.
"Yeah right!" Clover yelled to Mandy
The girls were arguing. Sam and Alex had to pull back Clover, and Mandy's lackeys, Dominique and Caitlin, had to pull back Mandy.
"Well may the best candidate win" Clover added with her hands crossed "Me"
"Candidate for the least fashionable outfits? Sure" Mandy quipped, "Me on the other hand, will win this."
"Yeah, in last place"
Mandy and Clover then scoffed at each other and went back to their booths.
Liam saw the whole reality show-type drama before him and winced with an awkward smile before finishing his lunch.
"And I thought Mixed Martial Arts fights were vicious," Liam thought.
2:30 PM
Everyone was leaving school including the kid who got stuffed in the locker.
Liam then stood by the water fountain,
"Hey..."
The kid reacted in a bit of surprise, he turned around and saw Liam.
"Yeah?" He nervously asked.
"You did make it to class on time, right?"
"Uh...yeah"
"Are those punks bothering you again?"
"Not anymore, they got transferred and everybody knew about them since the thing"
" I'm glad those people were such chumps "
"Uh huh," He nodded.
"Be careful out there." Liam placed his hand on the kid's shoulder
Liam then got ready to leave.
"Wait, who are you?"
"Just the new kid. See you later"
Liam slung over his backpack as he headed back to his home.
