This is a remake of an original story I wrote from 2014-2015! I decided it would be fun to go through the old ranger series to update them and or change some things I have an issue with now. I decided to keep the original one up since it's a classic and I don't want to get rid of memories, my first ranger series.
I do not own Power Rangers! I only own the story and some characters! Characters were created by Batmarcus, bammybell, TimmayIsAwesome, I love power rangers7135, decode9, megabooknerd3471, GosseiShinkenPink, gandalf42, and Jetman2! Please review and favorite for more!
In a temple far off into the mountain side was a school for those seeking to learn martial arts, but in the ways trained by warriors dating back hundreds if not thousands of years ago.
The teachers who taught at this school were older Japanese men who took pride in the ways of their ancestors. They dressed for the part, wearing traditional robes and basically either bald or having their hair in a long ponytail.
"Good work today, students." One of the mentors spoke.
He was directed in front of a sort of large class of students, who wore traditional gi in front of their mentor.
The students all respectfully bowed.
"Yes, sensei." They spoke all at the same time.
Once they finished paying respect to their sensei, they rose. One by one, each student gathered their belongings as they were going home.
The old mentor caught his eyes on a young boy standing nearby.
The mentor was bald, but did have a long white beard, a Japanese man. He wore traditional robes as well as the type of shoes were more in the older fashion than hip with the kids.
The boy too was Japanese and was no more than eleven. He had shaggy black hair and brown eyes, but was covered by his glasses. He dressed unlike those present at the school, whereas they looked like role playing in the ancient times of Japanese culture. The boy looked dressed for the current time period. He wore a brown short sleeve shirt, back pants, and black shoes.
The mentor noticed a box in their boy's hands.
"Gramps," The boy says.
The mentor, gramps, tilts his head at the young boy.
"Jayden, what brings you here? Shouldn't you be at school?" He asks.
The boy, Jayden, shakes his head.
"Gramps, it's time. Vaatu has escaped."
The mentor's eyes widened.
"There is no possible way for him to have-," The man shakes his head, "No. You must be mistaken, Jayden."
Jayden steps closer and offers the box.
"It was opened when I found it." Jayden says shyly.
The man accepts the box.
He looks from his grandson, who wasn't looking at him. It was as if the boy was guilty or ashamed, or both.
"What was it doing outside of the hidden vault?" The man asks his grandson.
Jayden doesn't look at his gramps.
"I- I don't know." He shakes his head.
The mentor grabs his grandson by the arm and hauls off in a direction. The pair headed down a corridor in the direction where two elder mentors were discussing matters in a room.
"Jun," The man said, "Daichi."
The two men looked in the direction of the child and the man. The elder mentors noticed what was in the hand of the man who interrupted them.
"Is- Is that?" Jun spoke.
The mentor nods.
And just like that the four of them head down the corridors, passing other mentors and other students. They reached stairs that lead them to a hidden room.
Upon reaching the bottom of the steps, they stepped into the remains of the old temple where the creature known as Vaatu was originally sealed.
"There is no way Vaatu could've been unsealed." Daichi spoke.
They see on the floor, the urn. The urn that had sealed the evil for good was broken. The three older men looked frantic and the young boy looked sad and worried.
"What do you call that, Daichi?" Jayden's grandfather spoke.
Jun was by the wall, which held old writings of a prophecy. Daichi examined the urn with Jayden's grandfather right behind him. Jayden stood behind, quietly and nervously.
Jayden's grandfather turns to his grandson.
"Did you see anyone come down here?" He asks.
Jayden shakes his head.
"N- N- No." Jayden stammered out.
Daichi swears under his breath.
Jun looks from the wall to his colleagues.
"The ancient prophecy says that Vaatu would be revived and then threaten the balance of humanity." Jun said.
Jayden looks around frantically at the older men.
"W- What do we do?" Jayden asks.
Jayden's grandfather approached his grandson with such a gentle and caring smile across his face. He knelt in front of the poor boy and placed a hand on the boy's shoulder.
"Don't worry, Jayden." He spoke, "Vaatu would need time to gain his strength, he was practically dead during his time being sealed in that urn."
Jayden nods.
The grandfather turns to his colleagues.
"Which will buy us some time." He spoke.
Jun nods agreeing with him.
"Kaito is correct. Our last hope is the Element Rangers." Jun said.
Jayden looks puzzled.
"But sensei, we- we don't even know who they are or even where they are." Jayden says.
Kaito turns to his grandson.
"No need to fret, my grandson, when the time comes, they'll come to us and we'll be here to train them." Kaito said.
-ELEMENTFUSION-
Eight years later
Today marked the first day of the new school year in Meadowedge, California. Plenty of students head to their respected schools by means of bus, driving, or walking.
Walking to school was the new kid.
Zane Daniels.
He had just recently moved to California from his only home which was Juno, Alaska. To him, California was such a nice change of pace and also he did enjoy the fact it was much warmer than back home.
Despite it being much warmer than where he grew up, it didn't stop the Alaskan native from wearing a red hoodie with blue jeans, and red and black sneakers. The top of his head felt hot due to his short natural jet black hair. He looked around at the incoming students at Meadowedge High with his dark green eyes.
He knew he was going to be the odd man out. All these students were returning from break to see their friends, and here he was being the new kid. Zane wasn't new to transferring, after all this was the seventeen year old's second time.
As he reached the school building, he bumped into a guy.
"What the hell?" The guy responded.
Zane got a good look at the guy.
This guy had dark short brown hair, swampy green eyes, and tan complexion. The guy wore a white t-shirt and black leather jacket, black jeans, and black converse.
Zane sees the guy glare at him.
The two looked to be the same height, as well as the same age.
'Great,' Zane thought to himself.
Zane watched as the guy clenched his hands into tight fists.
"Whoa, man." Zane starts, "I- I'm sorry. I didn't see where I was going."
The guy scoffs.
"Better be sorry, punk." He sneers at Zane.
'Think of something fast before he decides to beat you up, Zanes!' Zane thinks to himself.
Zane waves his hands in a frantic manner at the guy in front of him. That doesn't change the tight fists the teen had.
"Look, uh- um I'm new." Zane said.
The guy scoffs again.
"Whatever, loser." He said.
Zane then hears knuckles cracking and then the guy looking as if he was twice the size of Zane. This was going to happen right here as a small crowd began to take notice.
Zane hears the whispering. He sees as students look at him with pity but no one steps in. This was how his first day was going to go, with his ass being beaten up.
"Carson-!"
It was the sound of a teen girl.
Zane and this Carson fellow turn to see who had dared to stop what was about to happen. Stepping out from the crowd of teens was a teenage girl. She had a very sporty vibe to her.
She had dark brown hair which was pulled into a ponytail and bright brown eyes. She wore a white sport jacket and a white t-shirt with the number 44 on the center of it. She also wore a pair of blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
Caron narrows his eyes at her.
"This doesn't concern you, sophomore." Carson said.
She sighs and shakes her head.
"Oh, Carson. How would you feel if I told your mom you were bullying someone again?" She spoke so confidently at the bully.
Caron kept his glare on his face as he looked at her. Then he relaxes his fists. Carson turns to look directly at Zane, a glare still present, before turning away towards the school.
Zane exhales deeply. He was so surprised that he didn't get his face bashed in after all. He was so in his head, he didn't notice the sophomore practically in his face staring at him.
Zane jumps.
She smiles at him when he notice her.
"Sorry did I scare you?" She spoke cheerfully.
Zane shakes his head, "N- No, I was just-."
She glanced from where Carson went and then back to Zane.
"Don't worry about Carson. He's all bark no bite." She said.
Zane looks at her a bit confused, "Huh?"
She giggles and then extends her hand out. Zane awkwardly accepts. As they shook, the teen girl was practically vibrating with excitement.
"My name is Elizabeth Strong, but no one calls me that- well maybe my parents, so please call me Liz." Liz said with a big smile on her face.
Zane relaxes a bit.
"Zane Daniels," He introduces himself.
Liz kept the smile on her face, "Nice to meet you and welcome to Meadowedge High."
-ELEMENTFUSION-
Zane had already experienced his first two classes, which seemed fine. He didn't come face to face with the Carson fellow again, well that was until his third period class.
As Zane approaches his third period class, he spots Carson.
Carson spots Zane.
Carson glares at Zane as he steps into the classroom.
Zane swallows his nerves and follows after him.
Carson stood by the front and was still glaring at him when Zane entered, but then felt an arm around his shoulder as he was being directed to the back of the classroom. At first Zane thought it was Liz, but this was a junior class not a mixed class.
Pulling him towards the back was a teen boy with dark brown hair with bright blue eyes like the ocean. This guy wore a green muscle shirt with a white hoodie over top, blue jeans, and green vans.
Sorry, I didn't want Small to take you out." The guy said.
"Small?" Zane spoke in confusion.
The teen grins as he moves his arm from Zane's shoulder. Zane watched as the teen sat down at a desk so Zane followed by example.
"Carson Small." He said.
Zane made a face.
The teen laughs.
"I know it's ironic since the guy is a beast." He spoke, "Oh by the way I'm Alex, Alex Rodriquez."
Zane was about to open his mouth to say something but was stopped.
"So you must be new. Heh, of course you're new. I don't know you." Alex said.
Zane goes to say something again but then is again cut off.
"Unless you actually aren't new and have been here forever and I just didn't know." Alex then laughs, "That sounds like me to forget people."
Zane goes to open his mouth for a third time but is yet again cut off.
"So what's your name?" Alex asks, grinning from ear to ear.
A book hits Alex on top of his head.
"Shut up and give the poor boy a chance to answer you, idiot." A teen girl spoke.
Zane turns to the girl.
Alex, meanwhile, placed his hands on his head and pouted at the girl who hit him on the head.
The girl in question had short blonde hair and light blue eyes. She has a tan complexion. She wore a yellow sundress with a white cardigan on top, white leggings, and white baby doll flats.
She had an annoyed look plastered on her face.
"Jeez, Tia!" Alex exclaims, "That was rude!"
This Tia rolls her eyes.
"You kept running your mouth, you never gave the guy a chance to introduce himself." She said, "And I'm the rude one?"
Alex pouts.
Zane awkwardly grins.
"It's no trouble," Zane said.
Tia gives Zane a look.
"Don't humor him." She said.
Zane awkwardly laughs.
"Well, uh- er yeah I'm new. I just transferred to Meadowedge." Zane said, "I'm Zane Daniels."
Alex smiles.
"So cool," Alex said, "Where did you live before? How many other times have you moved? Why did you move here?"
Tia hits her book off of Alex's head again.
"You're doing it again, Alex." Tia said.
Alex winces and then begins to pout again.
Then Tia turns to face Zane.
Zane mentally worried that she may hit him with her book, instead she placed the book on her desk. She extends her hand out in a formal manner, unlike his handshake with Liz, this was more calm.
"Tia Moore. It's nice to meet you, Zane." Tia said.
Zane nods.
"Ye- Yeah, you too." Zane said.
Then the tardy bell rang, which caused Tia to pull back to head to her desk. Zane turns to look at Alex, who was still pouting from Tia.
"Alright, students," The teacher spoke.
Zane turns to look at the teacher.
"Time for class. Now take your seats. We have a lot to cover." The teacher said.
-ELEMENTFUSION-
When lunch came around Zane found himself facing the most difficult error in his life, being stunned on the first day. He didn't have any friends to just casually sit down with, he didn't really know anyone.
'Who would let the new kid sit with them?' Zane thought.
The question was answered sooner than Zane thought of it. Appearing next to him grinning from ear to ear was Alex.
"Hey man, why don't you join my pals and I?" Alex offers.
Zane looks at Alex.
"You don't have to," Zane said.
"Yes, I do. I don't want my new buddy eating alone." Alex said.
Alex practically forced Zane in the direction of Alex's table. As Zane was shoved over, he noticed two familiar faces and one new face. At the table was Liz and Tia, as well as a teen boy.
This teen boy looked to be probably about the same age as Liz.
He had shaggy brown hair with hazel eyes, and a light tan. He wore a blue button down, which was unbuttoned with a white shirt underneath with its sleeves rolled up also cargo shorts, and dark blue vans.
Alex grins as he turns to his friends.
"Guys, this is Zane." Alex says.
Tia looks up.
"I see Alex you were pulled over here against your will," Tia said, "Very on brand for Alex."
Alex shakes his head.
"I didn't force him," Alex said.
Tia made a face at Alex.
Alex's expression changes, "Look- He- We didn't want our new friend to eat alone." He said.
Liz glanced between Tia and Alex.
"You know Zane?" Liz asks.
Alex and Tia turn to Liz with confused expressions.
Alex nods, "Uh yeah, Tia and I met him in our history class." He spoke.
Alex and Zane take their seats at the table. The circle table was filled. From left to right at the table went Tia, Liz, Alex, Zane, and the other guy.
Tia looks at Liz, "How do you two know each other?" Tia asks.
Liz looks at Tia, "One word, Carson."
Tia nods.
"Wait, that was you with Carson this morning?" The boy in blue spoke.
Zane turns to him.
"Oh uh sorry, my name is Timothy Porter, but call me Tim." Tim said.
Zane nods, "Oh uh nice to meet you."
Liz then leans forward at Tim.
"Wait, you saw what was happening and did nothing?" Liz asks.
Tim frowns.
"Liz, look at me. I'm too small to stand up to Carson." Tim said.
Liz sits back in her seat with a small pout on her face.
"I'm smaller than him and I stepped in." Liz said.
Tim smiles softly.
"It's because you're far braver than me, Liz." Tim said.
Tia grins a little.
"Also, you don't know when to mind your own business." Tia said.
Zane points at the two girls.
"What's the history here?" Zane asks.
Tia and Liz look at Zane and then to each other before turning back to Zane. Liz has a bubbly smile whereas Tia has a more calming smile.
"Liz and I are cousins," Tia said.
Liz nods.
"We're practically sisters, though." Liz said.
TIa rolls her eyes with a grin on her face.
"Alex and I have known each other since grade school, and sure he's annoying from time to time, but he's a good friend." Tia said.
Alex nods.
"That's right-," Alex then realized what Tia had said, "What? I am not annoying."
Tia looks at him, "I said from time to time," She said with a small smile.
Liz then pokes back in, "Anyways, since Tia and I are like besties, when she and Alex became friends, he and I became friends." She grins, "I met Tim forever ago back at camp and has been friends with him ever since."
Zane glanced at Tim.
"Summer camp when we were in third grade,"Tim said, "I saved Liz when she was drowning in the lake."
Liz grins.
"I thought I could swim farther." Liz chuckles.
The group all sort of chuckled a little.
Tia looks at Zane.
"Where are you from?" Tia asks.
Zane looks at her.
"Alaska," Zane answers.
Liz made a face, "I hate the cold."
Tim grins, "Yeah you complain when it's below 60 degrees."
Liz shakes her head.
"The weather should never be below 60 degrees!" She declares.
The entire table laughed at Liz's outburst, Zane was settling in and he was enjoying their company. Sure they're all interesting but he honestly didn't mind it.
Alex wraps his arm around Zane's shoulders.
"Who wants to go to the arcade after school?" Alex asks.
Liz grins, "Rematch?" She asks.
Alex nods.
"Rematch," He confirms.
Liz cheers.
Tim turns to Alex.
"Sure," Tim said.
Alex turns to Tia.
"Tia, come on." Alex said.
Tia looks at Alex and sighs.
Liz then grabs her cousin's hands and begins to shake them violently.
"Come on! You're my good luck charm! I need to beat Alex! I need to beat Alex!" Liz exclaims.
The table filled with laughter again, despite the fact Tia still didn't seem super interested in the idea of going to the arcade.
Tia sighs.
"Fine, fine." Tia said.
Liz shoots herself out of her seat.
"Oh you're so going down today, Alex!" Liz yells.
Alex laughs, "As if." He said.
Alex goes to mimic Liz, but as he gets out of his chair, he loses his balance and falls. Liz, Tim, Zane, and Tia all share a laugh at Alex's fall.
"Alex is a bit clumsy, so look forward to watching more of this." Tia said.
Alex looks up at Tia.
"Hey! I am not clumsy!" Alex said.
Tia gestures to Alex, who was sitting on the floor of the lunch room.
"And look who is on the floor," Tia spoke.
-ELEMENTFUSION-
Once school was over the group was heading to the arcade. Tim had suggested they'd get there faster if they cut through the park, so that's where they were walking in.
As they walked through the park, Alex decided to run up a tree and do a backflip. He was dead set on it, despite the fact Tia suggested he not do it. Alex fully sprinted towards the tree as the risk-taker he was. He got a few steps in but then lost his footing and fell back on the ground. He landed on his back, hard but not hurt.
Tim ran over with Liz trailing behind.
Tia walked over slowly as she shook her head.
Zane was walking next to Tia.
"Told you not to do it." Tia said.
Alex rolls over and then pushes himself from the ground.
"Shut it!" Alex exclaims.
Tim and Liz exchanged giggles, but then something caught Liz's attention. She turned her gaze and noticed something coming right for them.
"Uh- what is that?" Liz asks.
Tia and Zane turn around to see that Liz was looking behind them. Flying down were monkeys, which was something really unusual. These flying monkeys looked ugly and were quite tall.
Liz, Tim, Alex, Tia, and Zane all moved close to each other.
They all exchanged looks.
"W- What do we do?" Tim asks.
Zane looks at them and then to these creatures.
One came over and kicked Zane in the chest, which sent him down on the ground. He felt hands on his back, which was Tia. She was helping him up, which Zane appreciated.
Another one came flying by, Zane then decided he wasn't going to be hit again, so he grabbed the tail of it and spun around before letting go of it. The creature went flying off.
Liz and Tim were standing back to back, one came by Tim and Liz jumped over and knocked Tim down to protect him from the creature.
Alex sees one coming near Zane, so he fully sprints in the direction of it and tackles it onto the ground. The creature tries to claw at Alex, who was holding its arms away from his body.
"Alex-!" Tia yells.
Tia ran over and then grabbed a large branch, she hit the monkey creature with it causing it to go limp. Then Tim and Zane pull Alex away.
The five end up back to back.
"What are these things?" Alex asks.
Zane looks at them.
"How the hell am I supposed to know?" Zane asks.
Just then jumping in was a mysterious person. This guy grabbed one that was flying towards him, and then threw it at another one coming from behind. He kicked one in the chest and then flipped in the air landing on top of one. He looked up and then saw three coming near him. He quickly delivered three punches at them.
He continued to defend himself until these flying monkeys decided to flee.
Zane and the others exchanged looks and then turned to this guy. He was standing in front of them.
This guy looked a little older than the oldest in the group; Tia, Alex, and Zane. He appeared to be nineteen. He had shaggy brown hair and brown eyes with glasses over top. He wore a white shirt with a brown vest, blue jeans, black shoes, and black gloves.
"Who are you?" Zane asks.
Zane stepped in front of his friends, but stayed close because he had no idea what happened just now.
Liz gestures around them.
"And what were those things?" Liz exclaims.
He looks at them.
"My name is Jayden. Those things that attacked you are called Furi." He said and adjusted his glasses.
"Furi?" Tia asks.
Alex shakes his head.
"So monsters are real?" Alex asks.
Tim ran his hands through his hair.
"I shouldn't have suggested the park." Tim said, "Idiot!"
Jayden watched as all the teens began to panic a little. Tim continued to call himself an idiot. Alex continued on a rant about monsters. Tia was trying to stay rational but it was slipping. Liz was just yelling how monkeys don't fly. Zane kept his eyes on Jayden.
"Look, you guys should go. This isn't your concern." Jayden said.
Zane scoffs.
"Doubt it! They attacked us!" Zane yells.
Alex looks worried, "Wh- What is going on?"
Jayden shakes his head, "I can't tell random civilians-." Then a thought went through Jayden's mind, "Wait a minute. Why did they attack random civilians?"
Tia looks at Jayden.
"I think that's what we're wondering too," She said.
Jayden's expression changed.
"Can't be," Jayden said.
At this point everone was focused on Jayden now.
"Can't be what?" Tim asks.
Jayden's eyes widened and then shakes his head. It was as if whatever he realized stunned him and he couldn't quite grasp it.
"No," Jayden then ran his hand through his hair, "You gotta be kidding me."
Zane takes a small step.
"What are you rambling on about, dude?" Zane asks.
Jayden gestures at them with utter shock and just honestly annoyed at them.
"You're who we've been waiting for? You are just kids?" Jayden spoke.
