This is a remake of an original story I wrote from 2014-2015! I decided it would be fun to go through the old ranger series to update them and or change some things I have an issue with now. I decided to keep the original one up since it's a classic and I don't want to get rid of memories, my first ranger series.

I do not own Power Rangers! I only own the story and some characters! Characters were created by Batmarcus, bammybell, TimmayIsAwesome, I love power rangers7135, decode9, megabooknerd3471, GosseiShinkenPink, gandalf42, and Jetman2! Please review and favorite for more!

The rangers ran up the steps leading to the temple, only to find Jayden waiting at the top for them. He adjusts his head and turns to face their out of breath faces.

Jayden gestures to follow me.

"Come on," He says.

As the five followed Jayden, it was then that the others began to notice they were being looked at. It seemed as they crossed through the courtyard that plenty of students who were training were looking at them. Not just students, but mentors as well.

Tia looks from the eyes looking at her and her friends to Jayden.

"Why are they looking at us?" Tia asks.

Jayden glanced back at her.

"Because you are our only hope in defeating Vaatu," Jayden said.

Jayden turns his head forward to continue walking.

Tim glanced at Liz, "No pressure," He said.

Liz just casually shrugs her shoulders.

Alex was rubbing at his head. It seems as if there was something bothering him. Alex jogged to walk alongside Jayden.

"How did Vaatu escape anyways?" Alex asks.

Jayden glanced down at the teen by his side. Jayden stiffens at the mere question that Alex asked so innocently.

Jayden frowns.

"We aren't sure." Jayden said.

Liz partly laughs.

"How do you not know? Wouldn't someone have broken the seal?" Liz asks.

Jayden halted, which in turn caused the five teens to stop walking. Alex and Zane stood the closest to Jayden, while Tia, Liz, and Tim were a little behind.

Jayden stuffs his hands in his pants pockets. He sighs and looks at each of them before saying anything further.

"Look, we don't know who would've done it. Everyone has been accounted for after the seal was broken." Jayden said.

For some reason, that didn't exactly sit well with Zane. He had this lingering feeling that maybe, just maybe Jayden was holding something out on them. Part of Zane wanted to question it, but he felt like maybe it wasn't his place.

Jayden shakes his head.

"We're wasting time," Jayden motions to follow him, "We're late as it is."

Jayden begins to walk again and the others follow after him.

"Late?" Zane asks, "Late for what?"

Jayden stops again but this time it was in front of a door, and the teens were a little behind looking at the nineteen year old who brought them here.

Jayden motions at the door.

"Look, behind this door are some students and mentors. They will bow and maybe say some things, but- but please try and be hero-like." Jayden said, sounding annoyed.

Tia has a small smirk.

"You're worried we'll embarrass you or something?" Tia spoke.

Jayden scoffs.

"I'm not your babysitter," Jayden said, "So fill free to embarrass yourself to your fullest-,"

Jayden then recoils back and shakes his head.

"No, no. I take that back. Look, these people want to pay respect to you five. You're the warriors of legend after all. Many students have heard the stories and plenty of mentors were waiting for the day you'd come." Jayden said, looking at all of them.

Each teen glanced from Jayden and then to each other.

"This is kinda a big deal, so please just-." Jayden was cut off.

"Be hero-like," Zane smirks, "Don't fret, Jay. You are with the warriors of legend after all."

Jayden wasn't having Zane's comment. Instead the older teen just looked equally if not more annoyed.

Jayden placed his hands on the door handles.

"Behave," Jayden said.

Jayden then opens the door, which was quite large. With the door opening it brought in light. Tia, Liz, Tim, Alex, and Zane were shocked it was like Jayden had said. There were a lot of people inside this large room, they were kneeling down on the main floor where at the end of the room were eight seats at the top of two steps.

Jayden nudges Zane, snapping him out of the shock.

"Red Ranger goes first," Jayden said, "Hello, leader and all."

Zane nods as he looks nervous.

"R- Right." Zane said.

Zane looks from his friends, who nodded at him, and then looked forward. Zane nods to himself before he takes his first step. Zane and his friends walk down an aisle in the direction of the seats.

Liz turns her head when she hears movement.

Jayden was shutting the door, and then once it was shut he jogged down the aisle to catch up with Zane in order to help direct where to go.

Zane, still nervous, glances at Jayden.

Jayden looks at Zane.

"This way," Jayden said.

Zane nods, "Okay."

Zane follows Jayden's motion towards a chair with his respective color on top, so Zane sits in the one in the middle. One by one his friends took their respective seats as well. On his left was where Tim sat and on Zane's right was where Alex sat. Next to Alex was Liz and to her right was an empty chair. On Tim's left was Tia and next to her was an empty seat as well.

Liz leans towards Alex.

"I have the worst stage fright." She tells him in a whisper.

Alex nods agreeing with her.

"Tell me about it." Alex said.

Zane noticed that Jayden disappeared from them. He had sneaked away off to the side of the room, nearly hidden in the shadows, but was still visible.

Jayden must've felt Zane's eyes on him, because he looked up at Zane.

Jayden gives a supportive nod at Zane, basically his way of telling the new leader that it was going to be okay.

Stepping in front of the rangers were the elder mentors the teens met before; Jun, Daichi, and Kaito. Although they were accompanied by another elder mentor.

"The Element Rangers have been awakened." Daichi said.

There was some clapping from the crowd in front of them. Yet the other mentor joined with the three the teens were familiar with wasn't. Instead this mentor raises his hand, which in doing so causes the entire room to go quiet.

Zane was impressed by this and a bit intimidated by this action to be honest. Zane had to assume based on this, this man was probably the man with the most power at the temple.

This man had a scar on his right eye, a tattoo of claw marks on his clavicle bone. Much like the older mentors, he wore traditional robes.

"They're incomplete. There is no way they can defeat Vaatu." He spoke.

Kaito turns to the man.

"Master, there are five of them. That is stronger than no ranger." Kaito said.

The man shakes his head and turns to look at Kaito.

"I do not care if there are five. They are incomplete, which means they'll fail." The man spoke.

Zane noticed, he saw in the corner of his eye, that Jayden tensed up. He looked almost offended at the old man. That he did not agree with the man's statement. It looked like Jayden wanted to say some choice words, but Zane assumed that Jayden knew he couldn't speak out of turn.

The mentor looks at the rangers and then to Daichi, Jun, and Kaito.

"They will be trained," Jun said.

The master scoffs.

"Who will train them? They are no warriors, but merely children- no that's wrong, children are easier to train." The man spoke.

Daichi shakes his head.

"Master, we've trained plenty of teenagers." Daichi said.

The master shakes his head.

Kaito then steps forward.

"But these are a special case of teenagers. Ones with powers not many of us teachers here can connect to." Kaito said, "So in doing so we have the perfect mentor for them."

The master raises his eyes in interest.

"Who?" The man spoke.

Kaito has a small smile.

"My grandson," Kaito said.

All eyes shifted to Jayden. The nineteen year old looked in utter shock. Everyone was staring at him, everyone from students, mentors, his grandfather, and the rangers.

The master placed a hand on his beard to stroke it.

"Jayden," The master spoke, "Hmm, come over here, son."

Kaito looks at his grandson.

Jayden does his best not to roll his eyes, but nevertheless, walks over in front of everyone. The room was so silent, you could hear a pin drop.

Jayden stands in front of the master. The master looks at Jayden and Jayden looks at the master.

"Jayden Hashimoto, you've been chosen to become the mentor of the rangers. This means you must monitor their training, guide them, advise them, show them the right path, and teach them everything they must know in order to stop Vaatu." The mast said.

Jayden awkwardly nods.

He hears clapping all around in the room. Jayden doesn't turn around to see former classmates clap in his honor or former teachers beam with pride. The nineteen year old looks to his grandfather, and his grandfather looks at him.

He wanted to tell the mater no, that this was a mistake, but he couldn't. This was his job now, even if he didn't think it should be him or if he felt this was beneath him.

All Jayden knew now he was stuck babysitting.

-ELEMENTFUSION-

The rangers and Jayden were now in the courtyard once again. Liz was sitting on a bench next to Tia. Alex was leaning against the bench. Tim stood off to the side of the bench, as did Zane. Jayden just paced back and forth in front of them.

"So what just happened?" Liz asks.

"And who was that old man?" Tim asks.

Jayden stops pacing.

Jayden sighs, "That was the grand-master at the temple. He is the highest ranking man here, in a way he's our leader." He said.

Zane looks at Jayden.

"Okay, what I want to understand is the whole we're incomplete thing." Zane said.

Tia nods in agreement.

"Even that monster- uh General Dyma commented about that." Tia said.

Jayden frowns.

"Look, we didn't get a full chance to explain the whole story before. The warriors of legend who stopped Vaatu, there were seven of them." Jayden said.

"Seven?" Alex asks.

Tia looks a little annoyed.

"Well, that would've been nice to know." She said.

Jayden looks at them.

"And I'd appreciate not being forced into being your mentors," Jayden grumples, "We don't get what we want in life."

Liz smiles.

"But I like you," Liz said.

All eyes on the bubbly blonde.

Liz shrugs at the teens giving her a weird look.

"Look, we know you sorta and uh- I feel like it might be weird being looked after by someone older like that grand-master." Liz said.

Liz smiles.

Tia finds herself smiling softly.

Alex grins.

Tim also smiles.

Zane held a small smile.

The four teens look at Liz, and then the five of them look at Jayden. He looks at them, not necessarily annoyed and not necessarily thrilled either.

Jayden sighs, "Well, I appreciate that, Liz." He tells her.

Liz kept grinning.

Zane looks at Jayden, "How do we find the other rangers?" He asks.

Jayden turns to Zane, "Let me worry about that. We have plenty of people searching for their whereabouts as we speak."

Tim nods, "Alright. So what do we do while we wait for them?"

Jayden looks at the five of them.

"We train." Jayden said.

-ELEMENTFUSION-

The rangers were training suits with their ranger colors on it, they were lined up in a dojo room on the temple grounds. Inside the room with them was Jayden. He looked at the rangers and then unbuttoned the two buttons of one of his black gloves.

The rangers seemed confused at what their newly named mentor was doing.

"Okay, let's get this out there before there are any questions. Much like my grandfather, I too possess the ability to read auras." Jayden said.

Liz grins.

"Really!" Liz exclaims.

Jayden nods.

"And the gloves are for what purpose?" Tia asks.

Zane grins, "Besides trying to look cool." He chuckles.

Jayden shoots Zane a look before shaking his head.

"My ability is stronger than my grandfather's, so to limit the headaches of reading people's aura and energy, I wear these gloves." Jayden said.

Zane makes a face.

"Oh uh- sorry for that comment," Zane said.

Jayden doesn't answer Zane.

Alex scratches his head with confusion.

"Okay, I'll bite. What does this have to do with our powers?" Alex asks.

Jayden glanced from Alex to each of the teens standing in front of him.

"It'll show if you are truly believing in yourself to get your chakra flowing inside yourself to make your power show." Jayden said.

Tia tilts her head.

"And how do we get our chakra to flow exactly?" Tia asks.

"Focus your mind on your individual power. Keep your mind clear and focused." Jayden tells them.

All five of them nod.

"Now close your eyes and focus." Jayden said.

The five of them do as he says, as they do that Jayden fully removes the glove. He feels the energy overwhelm him for a bit, but he forces himself to get used to it. He waved his hand in front of the five rangers. Jayden noticed that they were taking this seriously.

He saw Alex's chakra flowing perfectly. Roots had begun to appear from the floor and Alex had yet to notice this.

Jayden moves to Tia. Tia had her focus on her power, which caused a larger bright light to appear in the room.

Liz was calm and quiet, which is the opposite of the loud blonde. She was focusing deeply and it was paying off. Her feet lifted into the air, but only by a few inches.

Tim had remained focused on, which was causing some water to seep from the floor by little drops making a small puddle.

Jayden was quite impressed and actually stunned by this, although that didn't last for long. His smile of pride faded when he turned to Zane.

Jayden would see a small flame appear around the boy and yet they'd flicker on and off like a light switch. Zane was having a difficult time focusing, either that or believing in himself.

Jayden waves his hand in front of Zane and notices the boy's chakra wasn't flowing soundly, but rather dysfunctional.

Jayden placed his glove back on his hand.

"Open your eyes," Jayden tells them.

And just like that the four teens were all stunned. Liz was giggling about being in the air, even if it was by a few inches. Tia was shockingly not blinded by the light, but instead felt warmth by it. Alex, despite being proud of the roots on the ground, didn't like that his feet were stuck by it. The same impressed feeling mixture with Tim. Tim was amazed with what he did but hated how his feet were now wet.

"This is so cool!" Liz exclaims.

Tia looks at her cousin with a big grin.

Tim and Alex exchange cheerful smiles.

Meanwhile, Zane looked upset. Maybe even disappointed.

"Alright, now turn your powers off." Jayden said.

"Turn off?" Alex asks.

Liz pouts, "But I want to fly." She protests.

Jayden finds himself snickering at her comment.

"You can't be flying around school. Besides this is training, you need to learn to control your powers." Jayden said.

Tia decides to be the first to try. She closed her eyes and exhaled deeply, focusing on her light disappearing. And just like that, the light vanished.

"Like that?" Tia asks.

Jayden nods with a smile, "Yes. Exactly."

Tia smiles.

"I- I am impressed, Tia." Jayden finds himself saying.

Liz looks at her cousin, "How did you do that?" She asks Tia.

TIa looks at Liz and shrugs.

"I don't know. I mean, I just relaxed my mind and thought of the light disappearing." Tia said.

Tim decided to take in what Tia had said. He closed his eyes and did the same thing in his mind. Slowly the water dried away from the floor.

Alex watches Tim do that, so he decides to copy it. He closed his eyes and thought of the roots going away. The roots then disappear under the floor.

Then Liz felt the eyes of her team on her.

"Fine," She pouts.

Liz copies what the others did, and slowly the teen girl's feet touch the floor. She nearly stumbled as her balance was slightly off, but it didn't stop her from smiling.

"I- I did it." Liz said.

Jayden grins, "It seems like you all understand it."

Tim glanced at Zane. Zane was the only one who was quiet. He was still trying to make something happen and was struggling.

"Most of us," Tim said.

Zane looked up.

"Well fire isn't an easy element like water or light. It's difficult." Zane said angrily.

Now there were some more flames around Zane with his anger fueling up. He was having such a hard time trying to understand his power.

Jayden shakes his head.

The four others take a step back a little fearful of getting burnt by their Red Ranger.

Jayden steps forward.

"Hey, now. Don't be harsh." Jayden said.

Zane looked up at Jayden and suddenly calmness came inside of Zane, which caused the flames to die out. Zane looked at his hands and ran out of the dojo.

Jayden exhales and turns to the four.

"Allow me to talk to him." Jayden said, "Practice."

-ELEMENTFUSION-

Zane was sitting at the pearl of the stairs of the temple entrance. Jayden walked over and sat down next to the teen. Zane was doing his best not to make eye contact with Jayden and rather put all his focus on looking at the steps.

Zane pulls his knees to his chest and sighs deeply.

Jayden looks at Zane then places his hands behind him to lean back.

"Nice day, huh." Jayden said.

Zane grits his teeth.

"Go away." Zane said.

Jayden kept his eyes on Zane.

"You don't mean that." Jayden said.

"You don't know me!" Zane yells.

Flames appeared and then Zane freaked. He scoots away from Jayden in order not to burn him, and as he tries to calm down it seems to make things worse.

"Try taking calming breaths." Jayden said.

Zane looks at Jayden.

"Inhale and hold for a second then exhale." Jayden said.

Zane then does what Jayden said. Which was seemingly working for Zane. The flames were vanishing and the boy seemed to be a little calmer than he was before. Although, Zane looked away from Jayden, maybe due to embarrassment.

"You're scared of your powers," Jayden spoke.

"As if," Zane said.

Jayden chuckled, "You don't have to be so tough. I've been where you are when I was a kid, Zane." He said.

Zane looks at Jayden.

"How?" Zane asks.

Jayden smiles sadly, "My powers with reading auras and other energy sources is a genetic power. It skipped generations between my grandfather and I." Jayden said, "Most of those in my family who have this ability would get it young. I discovered my abilities when I was just a kid."

Zane looks at Jayden.

"As much as this power may be some kind of blessing, it's not so much trying to live a normal life." Jayden said with a sad smile still there.

Zane watched Jayden lean forward. He placed his elbows on his knees. Jayden leaned his head forward and exhaled deeply.

"I went to public school while I lived with my parents, but- but I never fit in. I was the weird Asian kid wearing gloves all the time, which made me a prime target for bullies." Jayden said, "One time a bully stole my gloves and I went into a full blown panic attack by how overwhelmed I was by all this energy I felt."

Zane frowns.

"I'm sorry," Zane said.

Jayden shakes his head.

"It's fine. Besides, after my eighth birthday, I moved here to the temple and I got all my education done here as well as my martial arts training. I graduated ahead of the students who studied here. I began college online, I- I am still where you are." Jayde said.

Zane tilts his head, "And where is that?" He asks.

Jayden looks at him, "Afraid to get close to people. I used my powers as an excuse, I don't want that for you, Zane. I see something special inside of you so don't waste it in fear."

Zane frowns.

"Easier said, Jayden. I- I can't get this right." Zane said.

Jayden placed a hand on Zane's shoulder.

"And that's why I am here." Jayden said, "Despite me not thinking I am the right fit to help you guys, I at least understand the burden and stress of having a gift like this in the world we currently live in."

Zane looks at Jayden.

"With enough practice you'll be able to do anything." Jayden said.

Zane smiles a little, "Thanks, Jay." He said.

Jayden scoffs and rolls his eyes.

"Don't call me 'Jay'." Jayden said.

Zane chuckles, "No promises." He said.

-ELEMENTFUSION-

"General Dyme, give me an update." A deep and sinister voice spoke.

General Dyme stood in front of a throne in the darkness. From the throne there were red eyes staring down at the general.

General Dyme nods.

"My lord, it seems they have not located the last two remaining rangers." General Dyme said.

"So only five of them," The voice spoke.

General Dyme nods.

The eyes shifted down and then back up at the general.

"I see. It seems we must snuff out the other two rangers and destroy them before they can become rangers." The voice said.

General Dyme looked puzzled.

"But my lord- how- how do we locate them? If they don't know who they are, how could we?" General Dyme asks.

Claws began to dig into the throne railings.

"You're forgetting, Dyme. I fought these warriors before, and would know their energy source a mile away." He said.

General Dyme lifts his head.

"So- So you plan to leave the hideout?" General Dyme asks.

The claws loosened up.

"Of course not. I have someone who could go into the human's world and go around unnoticed." He spoke.

General Dyme bows his head.

"Your brilliance knows no bounds, Lord Vaatu." General Dyme said.

This chapter is in honor of Jason David Frank. He was truly a legend! It's so sad that he has passed away, especially in the manner that he did. I'd to think he is reuniting with Thuy.
