"Okay Char…." Billy gave me a look of warning as he caught that I was calling my dad by his actual name but it was out of habit. If he had acted more like my father than he'd earn that title but of course that wasn't going to happen. "Come on dad let's get you home I'm tired from the game," I looked down at my cheerleading outfit that had split alcohol in the front of it. I was starting to smell like a bar. Jacob opened the passenger door for me as I let Charlie fall into the seat finally able to catch my breath. "Thanks Jacob, I'm sorry that you had to deal with this again."

He gave her that sly smile that made the inside of my stomach do flips. I wondered if he knew exactly what he did to me when he did that because then he would chuckle. Was I that obvious? I wondered to myself as I closed the door and he embraced me in a tight hug, "trouble breathing Jake." Finally he let me go then I turned to walk to the driver's side giving Billy a wave, "I'll call you when we get home to let you know we made it." Turning on the car I started to make my way out of the driveway and onto the main road.

"You were supposed to be cutting back on the drinking Charlie." He scuffed, "Mind your business Bells." Shaking my head I continued driving. The rain had finally started and it was getting harder to see. "The department is having enough of this behavior and they want to fire you. I can't have us live off the wage I make at Newton's, "don't you just shut up once in a while?" Rolling my eyes, "I'm worried about you dad I think you need to go see someone." He looked over at me, "I don't care what you think you're not my daughter anyway."

My lips quivered at that comment and I was finally having enough of it, "lately when you get drunk that's all you've been saying to me. And I want to know what I did to have you say that to me?" He sat up straighter giving me a side glance, "it means you aren't my daughter, surprise now you don't have to worry about me. I'm not your problem Bella and I wish you weren't mine." My eyes went wide and I took them off the road to look at him surprised by this sudden confession.

"How? Why haven't you told me this?" I asked in a stutter his head turned to look out the windshield at the sound of a honking noise. "Bella, pay attention to the road!" When I went to look forward once again bright blinding headlights blinded me and my hand turned the wheel as quickly as it could. The car swerved hydroplaning along the water that was on the road from the rain. It went straight into the tree slamming against it. My head hit the steering wheel knocking me out cold.

The sound of beeping filled my ears and I squirmed slightly, "I've never seen eyes look that color before. They were bright yellow and then suddenly they disappeared." Letting out a groan I reached to cover my ears, "do you have to be so loud?"

"Bella, finally you're awake," Jacob's voice caused me to open my eyes and I found myself in a hospital room. Clearly I was the patient from the I.V's and machines that were connected to me. "What happened? Where's Charlie?"

"You need to relax, okay you just woke up we need to make sure you're okay first." As flashes of what had happened began to fill my mind I sat up on the bed, "oh god where's Charlie? We… I didn't see the car until it was too late." Jacob grabbed onto my hand to comfort me, "Bells I'm so sorry but Charlie didn't make it, he didn't have his seat belt on." I pulled my hand out of his and placed it over my mouth to cover the cry that escaped me shaking my head as I repeated the word no! The guilt began to wash over me along with the feeling of loneliness as I realized I now had no one. My mother had left me and now my father was gone.
