FLASHBACK

[this is Renee's Point of View. Just like the vampire diaries I'll be doing flashback chapters. I forgot to mention on my last chapter I don't own the rights to any of the characters that's all LJ Smith and Stephanie Meyer]

My eyes gazed down at the pregnancy. This was my second one this week and it still came out positive. The pounding on the door caused me to jump, grabbing the test quickly and shoving it in my back pocket. "Mom can you give me some privacy please," from the look in her eyes she knew I was hiding something. It made me nervous, "that Lockwood boy is outside waiting for you again. I thought I told you I didn't want you to see him. Wolves are bad news Renee they bring nothing but trouble." Shaking my head I pushed past her and she quickly gripped my arm. Her eyes looked lost and in that moment I knew she knew what I was hiding.

Yanking my arm away I stumbled as I reached for my backpack and walked out the front door. There he was Richard in his red Chevy pick up truck. I couldn't help but feel safer in his presence. I could feel my mothers eyes watching me as I made my way into the truck, "just keep driving." He nodded his head taking off down the street, "did you take it?" He asked nervously as I reached into my pocket pulling out the test, "Is it positive?" A sad expression came across my face not wanting to look at his disappointment. When he knew we were out of sight from my mother he parked off to the side gently grabbing my arm and he pulled me close.

His arm wrapped around me to give me comfort and my body went limp in relaxation. "Hey we are going to figure this out, the Lockwood's have more say in this town than the Dwyer's." Laying my head on his shoulder I let out a slight cry, "they are witches Richard. Do you know what they do to people who go against them? They sent my cousin to a prison realm granted that he deserved it but that's the lengths that they go through in order to keep abominations out. They will either make me kill this baby or send me with him." He placed his finger underneath my chin making me look up at him, "nothing is going to happen to either of you. We will leave Mystic Falls tonight. My dad will help us. After school while your mom is at work, pack the things you need and meet me at our spot where the old Lockwood mansion used to be."

The day seemed to drag on. It was like it was against me having my freedom but finally I made it to my home. My mother was gone which would make this easier instead of having an argument. Going straight to my room I grabbed my cheerleading duffle bag and started to toss what I could fit inside. I didn't hear my mother walk in. She was as quiet as a church mouse when I turned around and let out a scream. Placing her hand on my head she whispered a spell that caused the room to spin around me. I felt like I needed to sleep and my body dropped to the floor.

"Wake up Renee!" My mothers voice caused me to stir the branches beneath me and poke at my back letting out a painful groan. "Where am I? What's going on?"

"Since you are my daughter I'm allowing you this option. Did you think that I wouldn't find out? It's one of my gifts Renee. I could sense the abomination growing inside you." I gulped nervously and my hand went to my stomach to protect it, "I will not let you hurt my baby."

"I warned you to stay away. I knew the repercussions of your actions with that wolf. It's happened before we don't need history repeating itself. Now are you sure you want that as your final answer?" Glaring at my mother I spit into her face, "I'm already a better mother than you because I'm choosing my child over what this coven thinks."

"Let her GO!" The sound of Richard's voice startled us all as he held one of the witches by the neck squeezing the air from her. "Richard, you will trigger your curse, remember what your father said, it's worse than death." Looking into his eyes I shook my head to try and calm him down, "it will be worth it to save you both." My mother looked from me to him holding up the ascendant, "Sheila Bennett it's time to start the spell." Richard's eyes went wide and without hesitation he snapped my fellow coven sister's neck like a twig. Their anger now went towards him, his eyes glowing a bright yellow as he looked at me. "Run my truck is where I told you to meet me, don't look back."

My eyes filled with tears. I didn't want to leave him here. I had no idea what they would do to him. "Go! I have my family coming. I'll be okay." With a loud sob I turned my back to him and started to run through the forest, "don't let her get away!" I heard my mother yell as I raised my hand behind me, "Incendio!" The leaves on the ground began to catch fire, stopping them in their path towards me. My breath was heavy now but I pushed myself to continue on. Keeping my hand on my stomach I silently prayed to the gods that my baby was okay reassuring it that we would both be okay.

Finally reaching the pick up truck I got into the driver seat with the key in the ignition it was all ready for me to just drive off. He knew coming here that only one of us would be making it out as my lips quivered. I turned the car on as his voice filled my head telling me I needed to hurry. I sped out onto the main highway. The pedal was pressed so far down I thought I'd make a hole in the bottom. As I passed the leaving Mystic Falls sign I saw the bag that had clothes and money. It killed me to know that I was leaving Richard behind. But we knew what we had to do to keep our child safe. One day I hoped we would all be reunited.
