Disclaimer: I do not own Sofia The First

Another picturesque day in the kingdom of Enchancia; and Cedric, for once, was taking full advantage. Leisurely searching the gardens in the hopes of harvesting a few herbs for his stores.

It was pleasant work, but he was surprised to have not seen much of the royal family that day. Especially one princess in particular.

Ah, well. Perhaps they'd gone off to celebrate something yet again. Though as to what occasion, he had to wonder.

Satisfied with what his collection he started towards his tower; opting to take the back door through the garden this time. When a figure in a purple dress caught his eye.

There she is.

"Hi, Mr. Cedric!" she called when she spotted him.

"Hello, princess," smiling as she arrived at his side. Taking a moment to notice her wrist was free of her enchantlet, before commenting, "Enjoyed another outing with your family today I take it?"

She smiled, "Yeah."

"May I inquire as to the occasion?"

"Oh, well actually..." her cheeks blushing slightly. "Today was the anniversary of when I first came to the castle."

He blinked, "Really?"

She nodded, "The ten year anniversary to be more specific. Normally I don't pay today much mind, but Amber insisted we do something special, and everyone else agreed," giggling as she explained, "I guess she wanted to throw a big ball at first. But instead they decided to take me out on a family day to all my favorite spots around the kingdom."

He chuckled at that little tidbit, "Yes, a grand hoop-de-la does seem more Princess Amber's style. Though I'm glad she's taken to heeding other celebratory options." Also, he supposed that explained why he hadn't heard anything of today.

"Yeah," she laughed, before sighing as she gazed up at the castle. "Still, it's amazing to think it's been that long since I first came here."

Indeed, Cedric pondered. Had he really known this girl for a whole decade now?... Guess time really does fly.

"Back then I was so sure I'd never be ready to be a princess," she continued wistfully. Her expression then becoming more confident as she added, "But, I guess I proved myself wrong, didn't I?"

"As well as any other naysayers," he agreed with a proud smile.

Yes, she had proven herself worthy of her royal title long before this day. But it still amazed him to see how she had grown into the lovely young woman he knew now; and even more so, that during all that time, he had been one of the ones lucky enough to be called her friend.

"Well," he started, garnering her attention. "Perhaps you and I should also take a moment to celebrate this special day."

She cocked her head slightly at him. Watching as he aimed his wand skyward, calling out, "Mohit Flora!"

In an instant, a shower of pink rose petals began falling all around them. Sofia's eyes lighting up, as she recalled the very same spell from that fateful day. As well as the way she felt when she first viewed such a magical sight.

"The perfect spell, to commemorate the anniversary of such a wonderful girl's arrival to the castle, don't you think?" he grinned at her.

She laughed, "And cast by my favorite sorcerer too," taking his hand in hers as they continued to watch together.
