Hello my peeps!

So here we go, chapter one is up! So were going to be going through, a sort of history rewind here. Basically, were going to be reviewing the history of Assassin's Creed with everything that i have learned for this reboot.

Yeah, like i said in the reboot notice, i decide to give this story the CIG treatment, seeing how well that one turned out and seeing as i had all the pieces i needed, i just didn't put them right in the previous version.

Like, okay, you have a puzzle, and you have all the pieces, but you've put them not quite in the right places but close enough to see a picture. Its all there, i just messed up and put the pieces all in the wrong spot, as it IS good but it can be BETTER, Ya know what i mean?

I decide to expand on this story and after playing a lot of AC Valhalla, i have new ideas how to incorporate it into this story. Even how i wanted to create a place for the "Freaks among freaks" thing, its a solid idea but the setting was all wrong, as i was trying to set it somewhere unrealistic but i'm going to change that.

As for Eri, she stays, she will be in this story there is not changing that.

Another thing, i decide to give the Sword Of Eden the name:

Excalibur.

But that's enough for now, on with the reboot as always i don't own Assassin's Creed nor RWBY.

So please read, review and "What the fuc-BOOM"

Chapter 1: The End Of An Era, The Goddess Of Aura And Birth Of The Assassin Dragon

Cheering was heard throughout the streets, as fireworks lite the sky like stars shining brightly. Everyone, form the rich to middle class, to the slackers and workers, to the poor and homeless were celebrating.

Everyone was happy, the happiness in the air was infections and was spreading like wildfire. Family and friends hugged and cheered with one another, enemies that normally would have been at each other's throats, were shocking enough dancing with each other, spreading the joy. Hell, even the animals were feeling the happiness in the air.

Cats and dogs, ones that would normally be chasing at each other, we're doing their own version of dancing.

Everyone and everything were feeling the joy and happiness that was in the air and why shouldn't they be happy? It was over, it was FINALLT all over.

The world's longest, bloodiest and most terrifying war had finally reached it's climax. Where's most wars were fought over lands, belief and difference between skin color, this was was fought for humanity's freedom. For nearly a hundred years, they've been fighting against the monster known as Juno and her cult, fighting for humanity freedom.

For a hundred years the entire world was divided into two sections:

One fighting for the freedom of humanity and the other, fighting for it's subjection.

It was an odd thing, as some wanted to be slaves, to be returned to their "Nature place" while many more, wanted the freedom they had and weren't willing to let it go without a fight. It was only because of the efforts of two secret organizations, revealing the truth behind the history of the world and how they came to be. The once swore enemies had decide that the time for fighting was over.

That their ancient feud must come to an end, to pool their resources together to fight humanity true enemy:

The Instruments of the First Will.

Men and woman, who believe it's humanity's duty to serve their creator's:

The Ones Who Came Before Us, The First Civilization, Homo Sapiens Divines, Precursors and even The Isu.

While it is unclear why and how the The Frist Civilization came to be. Their origins, their history and even how they grew and evolved into the advanced people we know them as. While they do indeed look human, one main difference between them and humans is that the First Civilization possessed a triple-helix DNA. Unlike humans, who only possess double helix DNA, like so many other living creatures on Earth.

Taken form a file that Juno had, during the time of the Assassin known as Ratonhnhaké: ton or more commonly known as, Connor Kenway. The file read as such:

Native to Earth and a product of thousands of years of evolution, the origins of the First Civilization are unclear. Minerva simply stated that they "came before", and were responsible for the creation of Homo Sapiens, forming the species in their own image to be a capable, but docile workforce. The Precursors also created Homo Neanderthalensis, designing the species to be their expeditionary or military force.

While Minerva noted that they built humanity to survive, it was made known by Juno that they were not intended to be wise, thereby ensuring obedient and resilient cattle to suit their needs.

Research by Clay Kaczmarek seemed to suggest that the First Civilization radically altered the genetic make-up of a pre-existing species on the planet to create humanity, fashioning them to be similar to their "gods". This left a large gap in terms of transitional species between archaic hominids and modern humans. By 1997, the Templars had taken note of this and had arranged for fake skeletons to be planted in Ethiopia, so as to limit human exposure to the possibility of the existence of the First Civilization.

In order to assure the control of humanity, various technologies were created by the ancient but advanced race, named Pieces of Eden. These pieces tapped into a neurotransmitter located deep within the human brain, ensuring total obedience. However, there were some humans born without the neurotransmitter, hypothesized by Clay to be hybrids of the First Civilization and humans, consequently making them immune to the Pieces' control.

The Pieces Of Eden, come in various forms and while many of them can control a person's mind, they can also preform extraordinary feats that many would believe it to be magic. Naturally it wasn't, only very, very advanced technology. Another file made by them, explained how humanity waged war against their "Gods" it read as such:

Instigated by the theft of an Apple of Eden by Adam and Eve, the human rebellion soon erupted into full-scale war with their "gods". While the First Civilization was more technologically advanced and powerful, humanity had the advantage of numbers; most likely outnumbering their creators by the millions, far too much for the Pieces of Eden to effectively handle. The war did eventually end, although the casualties were greater than the First Civilization could have ever anticipated. The distraction of war had blinded them to all else, and their preoccupation with the conflict prevented them from seeing the signs of an impending danger from the "heavens".

A select few, not partaking in the war, were aware of the imminent catastrophe and endeavored to prevent it, thinking up various possible ways to protect the earth. The Capitoline Triad, consisting of Minerva, Juno and Jupiter, would select the most promising solutions, following which they tested them in underground temples, also called vaults. All offered solutions failed however, with none providing adequate protection against the massive solar flare that was to come. During this time, Juno was discovered to have her own plans for the world, seeking to conquer it, rather than save it, and was subsequently imprisoned by Minerva and Jupiter. With their time having grown short, Minerva managed to construct a pedestal, called the Eye, which allowed one to alter the patterns and equations of existence and protect the earth by doing so.

However, before she could use the device, she discovered that Juno had tampered with it somehow, so that it would set her free upon activation. Refusing to unleash Juno from her prison, Minerva destroyed the device, thus condemning the world to face the solar flare, which flipped the Earth's weakening magnetic field, reversing the polarity and making the planet geologically unstable.

But it didn't end there. With the solar flare wiping out the Isu's, humanity was able to grow and prosper form it's sudden destruction of their makers. However, most of humanity was also wiped out and what was left of them, was reduced back to the stone age.

At least, that's what many would like to believe. The one known as Minerva survived, replacing her flesh body for a digital one. Here is another file, one after the first solar flare that nearly wiped out both species.

While both races survived the catastrophe, few of either species remained. Working together, they rebuilt their world, though humanity continued to view their counterparts as gods. Despite their survival, the First Civilization was unable to fully recover their numbers and began an inevitable decline toward extinction.

They knew, however, that the catastrophe which had burned their world before would eventually reoccur, and so they took steps to prevent it. Utilizing a second Eye she had built, Minerva recorded a number of holographic, yet interactive, messages to serve as a warning to those who entered the Vault under what would become the city of Rome. In it, Minerva warned of the impending doom, and spoke of the "Temples" that could save Earth from destruction, built by those who "knew to turn away from war".[1] Concurrently, several other members of the First Civilization took independent steps to influence the thriving human race, attempting to put their knowledge to stone or parchment, though these did not withstand the test of time.

Barely 100 years after the creation of the Temples, the First Civilization was almost completely extinct.

"You may not comprehend us. But you will comprehend our warning. [...] And as life returned to the world... We endeavored to ensure this tragedy would not be repeated."

―Minerva to Desmond Miles, through the memories of Ezio Auditore, 1499. Having foreseen the catastrophe doomed to repeat itself, Minerva did everything she could, to ensure the human race would be able to repel the second solar flare. But given the centuries long distance between them, all she could do was leave clues and hints for Desmond's ancestors to find and then, he himself would learn them.

Delivering their message to the Assassin Desmond Miles, who was viewing the memories of his ancestor Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Minerva warned that time was short, and that "the Cross" would stand in their way. With the deliverance of that message, one of the last remaining vestiges of the First Civilization faded away. Convinced they'd need Ezio's Apple of Eden to locate the temples Minerva had spoken of, Desmond continued to relive his ancestor's memories, eventually tracking the artifact down to a vault beneath Santa Maria Araceli.

While Lucy and the others sought an alternative way in, Desmond used a series of tunnels to gain entrance to the church. Encountering projections of Juno along the way, he managed to trigger a platform that brought him and his team to the pedestal upon which Ezio's Apple rested. However, the moment Desmond laid his hands on the Piece of Eden, Juno took control of his body and forced him to stab Lucy, who was secretly a Templar sleeper agent.

Subsequently plunging into a coma, Desmond was put back into the Animus in the hopes he would recuperate. While he and the Apple were being transported to the United States, Desmond, in his unconscious state, continued to relive Ezio's memories and was told to reach the Synch Nexus. Eventually succeeding, Desmond was pulled into the Nexus, where he encountered Jupiter, who showed him the location of the central vault, as well as a glimpse of what had happened during the Toba catastrophe.

In October 2012, Desmond and his Assassin team reached the Grand Temple, where they discovered that in order to find the key that unlocked its inner barrier, Desmond would be required to relive the memories of his ancestor, Haytham Kenway, and his son Ratonhnhaké:ton. After some time in the Temple, Shaun learned that the power sources for the First Civilization construct were running low, and that the team needed to locate more. This prompted Desmond to venture out from the Temple to recover them, and on doing so, Juno showed him visions of the solutions the First Civilization had attempted as he replaced them.

After he fully relived the relevant memories of Ratonhnhaké:ton, Desmond, Shaun, Rebecca and William Miles went forth to unlock the Temple's large gate, where they found the Eye, which had been fixed by Juno while trapped within the temple's walls. Juno herself then appeared to the group and told Desmond that by touching it, he would save humanity. She was interrupted by the appearance of Minerva, who had used the second Eye shortly before she died, allowing her a look into the future.

Minerva warned Desmond that on touching it, the pedestal would not only protect the Earth from the solar flares, but also unleash Juno into the world. She then urged Desmond to allow the flares to decimate Earth, which would lead to Desmond becoming a messiah of sorts to the event's survivors. Eventually his wisdom would be twisted by zealots, using it to justify taking lives, thus repeating the process of humanity over and over again.

Despite this, on justifying that the choice of doing nothing was much worse than releasing Juno, Desmond refused Minerva's plea. He resolved that it was best to save the Earth and hope that another might defeat Juno, as opposed to letting countless lives be lost. Desmond then touched the pedestal and sacrificed himself, unleashing an aurora-like shield around Earth that blocked the worst of the solar flares. After this, Juno then congratulated Desmond on playing his part, and declared that "it is time to play HERS".

Following Desmond's death, Juno uploaded herself from the Grand Temple to the equipment brought by Abstergo Industries to inspect the scene and preserve Desmond's body, led by team leader Case Fisher. She then transferred herself to the Abstergo mainframe, while Abstergo worked on using Desmond's genetic material to create a new initiative dubbed the Sample 17 Project, ran by Abstergo Entertainment to further explore his lineage.

Despite one plan to preserve their race resulting in failure, Juno enacted a fail-safe procedure, which allowed her husband Aita to continuously reincarnate in human form. This was enabled though the insertion of 'junk code' in the human genome, which would take over a fetus during development, allowing Aita's return to life. Multiple reincarnations of Aita, colloquially referred to as Sages, were able to exist at the same time, as was the case with Thomas Kavanagh, Jr. and Bartholomew Roberts.

As of 2013, Aita had been reborn in the form of a Sage named John Standish, who worked as an IT technician at Abstergo Entertainment. Once a new research analyst came to work for the company to view the memories of Desmond's ancestor, Edward Kenway, a pirate during the eighteenth century, John sought to use their help in hacking the Abstergo information systems in return for advanced security clearance, while having the analyst pass on Abstergo's files and information to the Assassins Rebecca Crane and Shaun Hastings. It was also through Edward's memories that the analyst would learn of another Sage, Bartholomew Roberts, and his connection to a First Civilization complex known as the Observatory.

Despite this facade however, he was secretly manipulating the analyst into giving Juno a body to inhabit. When the opportunity finally presented itself though, Juno stated that she was unable to take over the analyst due to the fact that she was scattered too thinly and that there were more artifacts to find and more samples to gather.

Enraged by his failure, John poisoned the analyst with a low enough dosage to hopefully allow Juno to successfully inhabit their body, though this attempt failed as well, as John was interrupted and killed by Abstergo security personnel, with the analyst inevitably recovering from the attack.

Following the death of John, Abstergo managed to procure his body for research, and discovered that he was a Sage. They found a high quantity of First Civilization's triple-helix DNA and began the Phoenix Project in the hope of sequencing the entire Precursor genome in order to use Animus technology to enable them to find out the secrets of the Precursor technology, with an emphasis placed on the the Pieces of Eden, through their history.

This is where things started going downhill, even more. The death of Standish and Juno's failed attempt at getting a new body, enraged her followers and out of sheer spite, attacked Abstergo and during the chaos, kidnapped the Templar agent:

Violet Da Costa.

A high-ranking Templar and a member of Sigma team, under the leadership of Juhani "Otso" Berg. Violet was tortured by the cult, in inhuman ways for hours on end and the entire thing was recorded for all to see. The video went viral and after Williams gave up his position as Mentor of the Assassin's, a new Mentor took his place.

One with a new way of thinking.

The new Mentor, Xero Mazoku, after watching the torture and death of Violet Da Costa believed here was both, an opportunity and a reason. An opportunity to end the feud between the two orders and his thinking, that the Templars weren't the true enemy.

No, he believed the true enemy is their one, true enemy.

Not to the Assassin Brotherhood of Templar Order but humanity as a whole. Seeing Juno's zealots in action, only reinforced his belief. Unlike most Assassin's, Xero had been in the Animus, watching history passing by, form BOTH Assassin and Templar eyes.

Bayek of Siwa, a father seeking revenge for a son, unjustly murdered by those who sought control of not just the land but all of Egypt and beyond. The boy's mother Aya of Alexandria, who discarded her name after their vengeance was complete and took up a new one: Amunet, Of the Hidden Ones. The very first incarnation of the modern-day Assassin Brotherhood to battle the Templars, original known as The Order Of Ancients. He died as he lived, an protector, a defended of the people. Both of them did.

Eivor the Viking of the Raven Clan, one who sought the prosperity of her clan in a new world. Having sworn to hunt down the man who had shamed not just her father but her entire clan with his actions of surrendering to an enemy, even if his intent was for the right reasons. Throughout her life, she hunted down the one who has shamed not only her father and clan but herself for his lies, succussed. In the following days, her clan would leave their home in search for greener pasters, only to slowly get involved in a secret war between two groups she didn't even realize existed till she was knee deep in it. In the end Eivor was able to change the fact of both her clan and her own.

Alexios/Deimos, brother of the legendary mercenary, the Eagle Bearer and the victim of a master plan by the very group his bloodline was oppose too. Subjected to the worst treatment imageable, Alexios, the grandson of the legendary spartan king, Leonidis, was trained to be the ultimate weapon for The Cult Of Kosmos and in the end, was saved by his big sister, Kassandra.

Kassandra, the legendary mercenary, the Eagle Bearer herself and granddaughter of the Spartan king, Leonidas. Raised as a mercenary on a small island in the middle of nowhere, Kassandra would have her destiny forever changed when the same grand plans of those who had conspired against her family attempted to use her, to kill her own father, in order to throw the Greek world into even further turmoil. It failed and when Kassandra realized what had transpired, what these people did to her family, she took up the sword against them, killing them off one by one. In one final climatic battle, she was able to not only save her long, lost brother, bringing her shattered family back together but she saved the Greek world as a whole from the evil clutches of the Cult's evil plans.

Altaïr Ibn-LaʼAhad, an Assassin who was arrogant and his callousness nearly cost him everything, from his rank to his very life. He was given a second chance, a chance to make things right and as Altair righted his wrongs, he slowly begin to see the darkness growing within the Assassin's and most of all, his own mentor. Determined to find the truth, he sought out the Apple of Eden, only to be ambushed by his mentor, Al Mualim. Even after his defeat, the darkness within the Assassin Brotherhood did not vanish, it in fact grew. Within his own rival and best friend no less, Abbas. After his wife was killed by traitors within the order, Altair went into hiding, taking the Apple with him and many years later, retunred to reclaim his rightful place as Mentor of the Assassin with a new way of doing things. He died, sealing himself away, with a message for Ezio Auditore, who would carry that message onto his descended, Desmond Miles.

Ezio Auditore da Firenze, a young man who had his trust betrayed by those he believed he could trust and watched as his father and brothers died, by the hands of the very same man he believed an ally. He sought after his own vengeance against those who had betrayed his family and in doing so, learned the truth of the world, what revenge truly accomplished and became a legend in the Assassin's history. He had dismantled three Templar nations in his lifetime, rebuilt the brother hood twice over and discovered the messages left behind by the great Altair.

Shao Jun, a young Assassin wanting to save her country from the Templar's twisted grasp and went searching for the living legend himself to learn how to do it. What she found, was an old man that had finally found peace and had no intention of being drawn back into the life of an Assassin. What Shao Jun found was more than just a way to save her people but the true price being an Assassin costs and a price she decides that she was willingly to pay. If that meant her people could be free, than she would gladly die for them and give up her own hopes and dreams to see it done.

Edward Kenway, a pirate who didn't care for those that he hurt in his pursuit of his fortune and in his arrogance, not only lost his wife, friends and at his lowest point, his crew and his ship, the Jackdaw. In the wake of his arrogance, Edward cast aside his ambition to redeem himself by becoming an Assassin and righting the wrongs he had committed and, in the end, gained a daughter and son.

Adewale, a former slave and the first mate of Assassin master, Edward Kenway. While Edward and he might have been pirates, Adewale felt like he had no purpose in life, no direction and no way to make things better for his people, held in captivity in chains. With the Assassin, he discovered, not only a way to save his people but found a cause worth fighting for. Freedom.

Shay Patrick Cormac, an Assassin turned Templar. Once a bright eyed, naive young youth who saw the horrors and danger of tampering with the Pieces of Eden, left the Assassins after attempting to prevent more cities from falling due to his mentor's own arrogance. But knowing the Assassins would recklessly mess with these sights, decide to join their worst enemies to save the world from certain destruction. Even if in the end he killed all those he once considered family, he never turned back, not even when Allchies Brotherhood was broken and the mentor himself crippled for life.

Haytham Kenway, an Assassin by blood, turned Templar Grand Master after he became disillusioned by the Assassin's way and saw stability within the Templar Order. From his point of view, the Assassins may believe and preach peace but all he saw, was them causing mindless fear and chaos. He believed in the Order but in the end, he had sowed the seeds of his demise, when he sired a son with a native in the new world and the boy was trained as an Assassin by an old enemy. A fitting end.

Connor Kenway, a young man that determined to protect his people from the outsiders of the new world, even if half of him WAS the outsider. But like so many others, he was deceived by those he trusted, most of all by the one who set him down the path to begin with. Even if he accomplished his mission to stop the Templars, his people still lost their land, their home and was left with nothing. Nothing but dead friends and family, as his arrogance stopped him from seeing the truth before it was too late. That his path was a long one, full of darkness and that his journey was nothing more than a steppingstone, a sign to direct Desmond where he needed to go, in order to save their world.

Aveline, a young woman of the 1700 century, born into wealth but born between a free man and slave, was a shrewd woman by nature. Noticing the difference between her people, the Africa half of herself, Aveline could not stand the injustice brought upon her people just because of skin color and took up the blade to change it. By any means necessary to change things.

Arno Dorian, a boy born to an Assassin father, much like Ezio, had lost his father to Shay from an early age and vowed vengeance against those who had killed his father. The world he viewed was black and white, good, evil, innocent, guilty, he cared for none of that. All Arno wanted was vengeance on the ones who had killed his father and in doing so, dug himself down a deep hole between the Assassins and Templars. But when he joined the Assassins, Arno just how gray the world truly was and after the death of those closest to him, he realized that the only fate we have, is the one we make for ourselves through our own actions and ideals.

Arbaaz Mir, a young Assassin born in Kashmir in northwestern India during the early 19th century to a Muslim family. His home region was conquered by Maharaja Ranjit Singh of the Sikh Empire in 1819, leading to the death of numerous Muslims in Kashmir, including Arbaaz's family. Because of this, it led Arbaaz to grow up with a resentment towards Singh, considering him a cold-blooded killer and a theft to survive. At the wrong place at the wrong time, Arbaaz was involved in a meeting gone wrong, and was rescued by Hamid, the local Mentor of the Assassin Brotherhood. Indebted to the man, Arbaaz became an Assassin. A story much like ever other Assassin recurited, one that has been consatly repeated across the era's.

Jacob and Evie Frye, twin Assassins who both wanted the same thing but had much different ideas on how to go about it. When they arrived in London to liberate it from the iron grip of the Templar grandmaster, Crawford Starrick. While the two Assassins were very different in a lot of ways, due to their clashing ideals, they soon learned that they could overcome any challenge, as long as they stayed together and together, they defeated Starrick, ushering in a new era of peace within London. But it was not meant to last, as the scars Starrick left, had created a new monster.

Jack The Ripper, a young man tormented by the ghosts of his past, haunted by the death of his mother and taunted by the voices in his head, had turned the man into a killing machine. Despite his insanity, his natural charisma had drawn in followers from Jacob's own gang and other insane criminals, creating the Ripper his own little army to descended upon London like a dark shadow. Blaming Jacob for being 'too slow' in saving his mother, in his final days, Jack killed all those who had made his life a living hell and was final defeated by Evie. Defeated and his identity as both, a killer and a member as an Assassin of the brotherhood would remain a mystery forever.

All a legend in their own right.

Many Assassins and only a few Templars. Each and every one of them had their own unique stories to tell, their own thoughts on the creed and orders, their own experiences and Xero learned much form them. However, the ones who made the biggest impact on Xero and helped him grow as a human were Bayek, Ezio, Edward, Shay, Haytham and Arno.

Bayek was the founder of the Assassin Brotherhood or as it was known back then as, The Hidden Ones. The man had lost his son to his enemies, ones that would evolve into the Templars. He hunted them down, killing them all one by one and when he finished the last one, he came to a realization:

This was not going to stop.

Those, the ones in the masks were just the first. No doubt others would rise up and be just like them, abusing their power and preying on the weak and helpless for their own selfish purposes. To ensure the people would have the means to stand against them, Bayek created the Brotherhood to stand against them. He was not a prophet, nor a futurist or even a record keeper but he understood that life is precious.

That it must be guarded form the shadows.

He started the Assassin's, the hidden guardians of humanity and life itself. They wish to protect life and if that meant a few must be snuffed out to protect the many...then so be it.

Xero learned how one man's drive for vengeance can make him do terrible things. But it also taught him, a person's greatest mistakes can lead to their greatest discoveries and moments as well.

Pain not only makes a person feel alive, but it makes them wise as well. That is what Xero took form Bayek's past.

Moving onto Ezio, he was a complex character to Xero. Ezio, born a nobleman and living up for seventeen years only to lose it all, when his father and brothers were killed in an unjustly manner. Betrayed by a man they called friend, Ezio set out to punish the one who made sure his family was killed off. But even after Ezio killed the man, it wasn't enough.

Learning the truth form his uncle, those events set Ezio out onto a journey that would lead him to learn more things than anyone could ever possibly image. Many people would have died at a young age, in Ezio's line of work.

But he didn't.

He fought, killed criminals, saved hundreds if not thousands of people, won and ended wars, stopped dark plots and even saw into the past. But learning what his life's purpose was, he just...gave up. At his old age, he learned to slow down and take a step back and enjoy what little life he had left. Perhaps it was a sick joke of fate or maybe simply destiny itself, that Ezio would die in the very same Plaza his father and brothers did.

No, he didn't die shouting in angry, screaming vengeance. He didn't die, a man betrayed by someone he believed he could trust. Ezio didn't die as the Mentor of the Assassin Brotherhood. He died a man, content with his life and while he had many regrets, but towards the end of his life he didn't have any regrets.

He lived a good ten years with his beloved wife, young daughter and passed on his knowledge to the Assassin Shao Jun.

Ezio didn't died a man with regret but a happy one, content with his life and ready for the great beyond.

Xero had learned how conviction can drive a man, the feeling of duty and obligations to the Assassin Brotherhood. He helped shape the future of the world, not only did he stop the mad man Cesare form gaining his ambition, but he also saved Leonardo Da Vinci.

Several times.

What Xero took form Ezio, was that life can be too short and you should enjoy it while you can and enjoy it with the people you love. Because you won't know what tomorrow will bring and then, it might be too late.

The sudden death of his first love, Cristina Vespucci was proof of that fact. How you're loved ones can suddenly be taken away, without warning and without hesitation.

It showed Ezio just how short life can be cut and how cruel the world really was.

Next, was Edward Kenway. The man could have been called a literally version of the Assassin's creed:

"Nothing is True, everything is Permitted"

He stole, killed, plugin and taking whatever trinket he fancied and not caring of the consequences. While he was a pirate, he didn't enjoy all the killing and stealing, he only wanted a good life. A descent one, not the one he had before where he couldn't even get food that didn't make him sick. He was also a man that had ambition and wanted more than just gold.

He wanted fame, wealth, power, reputation and to become a man of purpose.

He gained all that within his years as a pirate, but at a great price, however.

"For years I've been rushing around, taking whatever, I fancied, not giving a tinker's curse for those I hurt. Yet here I am... with riches and reputation, feeling no wiser than when I left home. Yet when I turn around and look at the course, I've run... there's not a man or woman that I love left standing beside me."

These were Edward's words to his first mate and former quartermaster of his ship the Jackdaw, Adéwalé. It was after slowing down and looking around him, to see just what his path of destruction had left behind.

Along with the trail of bodies, both foe and friend alike. It was at this turning point, did Edward really, truly join the Assassins and put an end to the Templar Order in the West Indies. Edward lost a lot of friends, and the age of the pirate era was coming to an end, that much was true. But it made him a better man for it.

From what Xero took form Edward was simple, it's alright to have ambition but don't let it blind you. Otherwise, you'll lose everything and everyone you hold dear to your heart.

After all, everything comes with a price and the greater the treasure, the greater the price you pay.

Next was the Assassin turned Templar, Shay Patrick Cormac. This was a man that really made an impact on Xero, hell his entire situation and how he handles it did. With the Assassin's betraying their own principles and Shay trying to set things right. For once, the Assassins were in the wrong and the Templars were in the right...if only for a brief time.

So, Shay went from Assassin-to-Assassin hunter, killing those he once called brother and breaking the Assassin Brotherhood. All so he could stop the Assassin's mentor and Connor's future mentor, Achilles, form shifting the Earth and ultimately destroying the world itself. Despite spending the shortest amount of time on Shay, Xero learned a very important lesson form him:

Everyone has a choice. They can either do what is right or what is easy. The Assassins, despite being warned by Shay on what the so called "Piece of Eden" did to Lisbon, they chose to ignore him. They took the easy path, while Shay took the right path.

The hard path.

Betraying everyone and everything he stood for once and set out to destroy not only it but killed his friends in cold blood. All because the Assassin's didn't listen to his warning.

So, two important lesson's form Shay.

Listen when someone has something to say and be careful on what you decide to do. Each choice you make can make it or break it.

Next was Haythem, Edward's son and he was a rather simple one, if not cold hearted one as well. Despite being the son of an Assassin and the Templars are the ones that sent the merc's that killed Edward, he STILL sided with the Templars. Even going so far as to become the grand master Templar of the American colonies and tried to kill his own son no less.

Haythem was someone Xero never, ever wanted to be compared too or even be liked by. Many would call the man cold and maybe even, unfeeling too. But form Xero's own point of view, the man was focused.

Too focused.

His focus on ensuring the Templars succeeding, he pushed away the woman he loved and drove her away. As a result, she was killed for his ideals and in turn sent fourth the chain of events that would undo all of Shay's work and cause Connor to kill his own father. The lesson Xero took form Haythem was this:

Being focused was a good thing but being too focused will only lead you to ruin. Basically, don't have tunnel vision or else, your son will stab you in the neck.

The final man that made an impact on him, is none other than Arno, the French revolution Assassin. Shay, Haythem, Connor and Arno are all connected in one way or another. Shay had ensured Haythem would become the grand master of the colonies by wiping out the original colonial Assassins. However, when Haythem was killed by his son, Shay had killed Arno's father and taking the box with him.

It was a few months after killing Charles Lee, did Shay return to his original home and challenged Connor to a one-on-one fight. One that Shay would have won but his old age had taken its toll on him, and it costed him his life as a result.

So, in one way or another, they were all connected and very similar in a lot of ways. So one might think Xero wouldn't have learned anything from the reckless Assassin and he didn't.

At least not in a way he had learned from the others. After the death of his childhood friend and love interest Elise, Arno had his own revelation.

"The Creed of the Assassin Brotherhood teaches us that nothing is forbidden to us. Once, I thought that meant we were free to do as we would. To pursue our ideals, no matter the cost. I understand now. Not a grant of permission. The Creed is a warning. Ideals too easily give way to dogma. Dogma becomes fanaticism. No higher power sits in judgement of us. No supreme being watches to punish us for our sins. In the end, only we ourselves can guard against our obsessions. Only we can decide whether the road we walk carries too high a toll. We believe ourselves redeemers, avengers, saviors. We make war on those who oppose us, and they in turn make war on us. We dream of leaving our stamp upon the world... even as we give our lives in a conflict that will be recorded in no history book. All that we do, all that we are, begins and ends with ourselves."

Never once did Xero ever hear truer words, then those spoken by the French Assassin. A person must live his life, from birth to death in order to be complete, to become the person they are meant to be.

Xero had lived through several lives, experiencing all they lived through including happiness, heartbreak, sorrow, joy, etc. But he never really, truly experienced those things for himself. Only through the eyes of another.

Nevertheless, what he did get form all that is knowledge.

The knowledge of who the true enemy is, and he had unintentionally carried on Arno's dream, of uniting the two orders together, to become something greater than themselves. After all a wise man once said:

"The only way humanity can truly unite, is when we face an enemy even greater than ourselves."

This was proven true, when the two groups came together to fight Juno and save their world form those monsters. So, after making contact with Otso, Xero told him his desire to unite their orders together to fight Juno. The Templar Master agreed with the new Mentor of the Assassin's. He was both shocked but pleasantly surprised at the mentor of the Assassins.

He always knew the Assassins were fools, having a lot of nerve but not enough will to do what is need to really, truly save the world. Osto would be lying if he said he wasn't happy about this turned of events. While misguided as they were, the is no doubt that they ARE valuable allies to have. So he wasn't one to look a horse gift in the mouth and was more than happy to make peace talks.

However, when they arrived at their meeting spot, they were attacked by Juno's followers.

It was a clear attempt to drive a wedge between the two order, trying to ensure peace could never come between the two orders. Instead it only pushed the two order together when it became clear, Juno felt threaten enough by them to try and keep them form banding together. Alone they may have a chance at beating her, but together?

Juno and her cult would fall.

Seeing the two come together had obviously sent a fire underneath Juno and her followers. Because after the failed assassination attempt of the two leaders, Juno had her cult quickly and quite frankly, reckless attack both Templars and Assassins, all over the world.

This threw the entire world into chaos, as people form all walks of life, be they a common or a person with great power were killed in very brutal ways. In response to this, Xero and Otso decide to reveal the true history of the world and Juno's involvement of it all. An act that went against thousands years of tradition and breaking the biggest rule of both orders:

"Hide In Plain Sight/Never share our secrets nor divulge in the true nature of our work"

But with the stakes as high as they are and the inevitability of discovery by the common folk, the two leaders decide it was for the best. Not to mention, Juno would more then likely twist the hidden truth to her advantage and without knowing the full truth, many would fall pray to her poisonous words. But with said truth out, there was a good chance some would STILL side with her.

But many more would fight against her.

A fact that pissed her off to no end, as Xero's and Otso's gambit paid off. Soon enough and as predicted the world was thrown into chaos but united under the new order of Assassin's and Templars, in order to fight their Makers once more. The new name they gained, was given to them by the people of the free world. One that infuriated Juno to no end.

The new name they were given was one that mocked Juno and her ideals of Humanity's "Rightful place" and it also made a mockery of her cult as well. It just goes to show, when you try to steer someone away form their intended path, all you're doing is pushing them further on it.

The events that followed would forever change the world as they knew it.

...And another one as well.

Line Break

"Huff, huff, I just need to go, Huff/sharp in take of air, a little further."

The snow fell at a steady rat and was crushed under his steel toe boots. The winter wind had quite a bite, but it did very little as his hood keep him nice and warm. Not that he was planning to keep going much further. His destination was just up the small hill:

An old mansion, that looked like it's seen better days.

The entire thing looked like it was ready to come down, with smashed in windows, broken doors and nature trying to over take the entire structure made him feel old. REALLY old.

"Well seeing as i'm over a hundred years old, i guess i really AM old aren't i?"

He smirked a little at his own crappy joke, laughing a little.

"Heheh, COUGH, COUGH, ugh."

He breathed in heavily, wiping the blood form his hooded face and slowly making his way towards the broken in door. His entire cloaked form slowly made it's way through the destroyed mansion, till he arrived in what looked like, was once a library with a hole in the ceiling. The hole allowed moonlight to enter the room, shining down on a large, plush chair that had long since passed it's time.

"Finally."

He muttered to himself, as he made his way to the chair and slowly moved to sit in the chair. After making himself comfortable, the man pulled his hood back, to reveal the grand master of the Guardians, Xero Mazoku himself. The man himself certainly looked like he was a century old and time seemed to have taken it's toll on him, as has the war.

His long, once black hair had turned a shade of gray that moved down his back. The crescent moon shaped scar on his right eyelid seemed to gain an even deeper depth, with the wrinkles on his face becoming more pronounced. His once deep, dark red eyes had faded away to a mere pinkish red and his skin became a much more paler then ever.

The cloak he was wearing, covered his ripped and torn clothes and the steady stream of red traveling, down his weak, old and weary body. His eyes looked up to see the moon, it's lightening up the cold and dark room.

"Figured it end this way."

Honestly he wanted to end it this way, with him being in his childhood home and one he hasn't seen since he left at age eighteen. It figurers he would come back when he was on death's door.

"I'm just glad i was able to kill Juno and defeat her cult once and for all, before my time came. Sophia, kids, mom, dad, Arthur, everyone...i'm coming home." The images of his family, his wife, their children and everyone else he had lost to this damnable war flashed through his mind. All gone long before their time, thanks to Juno and her cult. But now that her cult and Juno herself were defeated and gone, they can finally rest in peace.

HE could rest in peace, knowing humanities future was secure.

With one last laugh and a smile, Xero closed his eyes and took his last breath. The reason why he was put on this Earth was completed and he had no reason to live in this world anymore. Not without his family and friends around.

If one were to see him now, they wouldn't have the heart to move Xero's body. Sitting in that plush chair and with a peaceful smile on his face said everything:

He was content.

Or was he?

Location Unknown

White.

That's the only thing Xero saw, as his red eyes blinked open. The only thing he could see for miles was white and...

"A door?"

He said, mostly to himself and blinked again. His voice it...sounded younger? He touched his neck, still feeling the black choke collar with the golden rosay around his neck and noticed something. His hands, his skin they felt smoother and taunt again.

Hell he didn't even feel as weak anymore, he felt great in fact! The aches and pains he felt in his old age were gone and Xero didn't feel like he was going to kneel over! Hell even the many scars he acquired over the years no longer had the dull ache anymore, how is this happening?!

"I died. So that means this is...the afterlife?"

It was more of a question then a statement, as this wasn't what he was expecting. He wasn't expecting pearly white gates of Heaven and was half ass expecting to see the firey flames of hell.

This...this is what he had image the afterlife would look like. If this wasn't Heaven or hell, then that meant, where he was in, "Purgatory then and what's with the door?"

Silently Xero approach the door, taking in every detail of it. It looked like it was made form carbon steel, dull gray in color and thick looking, without any handles on it. On the door was a picture of a tree, in 3D detail. The tree's branches branched off, with different words on the end of each branch and at the top of the tree it said:

SOUL

"Okay, so i'm in some sort of Purgatory and this door is...what a gateway or something?"

"Not quite."

Years of training, fighting and war had sharpened his senses to the max, but there were still a select few who could sneak up on him. And he didn't recognize the feminine voice, so his reaction was about what you'd expect it to be.

He made to grab his Sword of Eden, while whipping around to stab his attacker in the neck with his hidden blade, only to discover some hard facts:

1. He had no sword and 2, his hidden blades were gone as well.

No problem, he was an expert in hand to hand combat, one of the best, so he could-

"That is not necessary young Mazoku, i mean you no harm."

The master Assassin stared at the young woman in front of him. Yeah right, the Martians said the same thing before they started blasting people with their disintegrator rays.

Taking a good look at the woman before him, Xero was somewhat reminded of the Minerva and her people, The Isu Precursor's. The woman, a young girl really had snow white hair, unnaturally pale skin and golden eyes. Not yellow, but the purest gold, an endless sea of pure gold that for seem reason put his worries at ease when he looked at them but that did not mean the Assassin dropped his guard.

That often lead to death for an Assassin or even a Templar.

Her clothing reminded Xero of the people of China and Japan back during the Feudal era, a pure white kimono dress that covered her ankles and sandals.

"Who are you?" He asked cautiously, never taking his eyes off the strange woman, as she merely smiled a friendly smile.

"Forgive me but i am... well, i am nobody. I could be a woman, i could be a man, i could be a child, i could be a baby, i could be an angel, i could be a demon, i could be the devil or i could even be considered a god in your eyes. I am known by many names, but the people of your world have no idea who i am, thus I am nobody. But in another world, a world different yet similar to yours, the world of Remnant knows me as the Goddess of Aura. The being that had gifted them the power of the soul to combat my sister's dark creation after he and my other sister left Remnant to fend for itself." She scowled deeply than spoke in a more spiteful tone, "But not before cursing an innocent woman to die and be reborn to complete an impossible task. Then again, here i am asking you to save the world they abandoned, so I suppose I'm not much better but at least i plan to ensure you have everything you need to complete your task."

"What? What task?" Xero scowled too, not liking where this was going. He was NOBODY'S Goddamn pawn!

Nobody!

"Please, rest assure young Mazoku, i have no intention of forcing you to do this. I would like you to hear me out first and then, hear what i have to offer, then you can decide if you will help me or not."

Xero snorted but said nothing, crossing his arms over his chest, allowing the woman, little girl, goddess? to talk.

"Thank you, I am what the people of Remnant call, The Goddess of Aura. The younger sister to the Sister Gods of Light and Dark, the one who stayed behind to give humanity a fighting chance against the Creatures of Darkness, the Grimm. But i made a mistake." Xero raised an eyebrow but stayed silent, as the white-haired goddess paused for a moment, shame coloring her face, as she shook it off, continuing with her tale, "The power of the Soul, Aura as they call it. As the people explain it, Aura is the manifestation of one's soul and can be used for a wide range of abilities. The specific abilities and their strengths differ from individual to individual and are dependent on a number of factors, such as experience, training and innate skill. It is predominantly used for protection from harm. But like every other ability, it needs to be trained, cultivated and learned in order to bring it to its fullest potential and can be used to unlock an ability they've come to call a semblance. A unique ability to each individual, save for a select few with a hereditary semblance."

Xero absorbed the knowledge of this Aura thing and to be honest, it sounded an awful lot like Chi and the abilities some of the Isu's Pieces of Eden's could do. Nodding he spoke, "Okay, keep going."

"I gifted the people of Remnant the power of Aura to defend themselves from my older brother's creation, the Grimm. The creatures of Grimm are monsters that inhabited Remnant, they are described as "creatures of destruction" that lack a soul; hence, they are unable to use Aura. They are also drawn to feelings of negativity - such as envy, sadness, loneliness, hatred, etc. Often congregating on the source of these emotions with great fever if the levels of negativity are high enough and most Grimm take the appearance of animals with bone armor. Nasty creatures and prefect companies for my elder sisters." The supposded Goddess spat out the word making the Assassin raise an eyebrow.

"You don't like her."It was more of a statement than question, judging by the look of anger on the short woman's face.

"I haven't gotten along with either of my elder sisters, when they forbid me from trying to help the people of Remnant any further, with my 'stunt' of giving them aura." It was kind of funny to see a so called 'Goddess' make finger quotes with a scowl on her face.

It was cute.

"So i take it they didn't like you interfering with their plans?"

"'Humans must learn, so they must suffer in order to grow. If they can't be challenge, they cannot truly grow, your actions have threatened that balance and cannot be allowed to happen again.'" The goddess said in a mocking, angry tone, no doubt retelling him what her older sister told her.

While a part of him agreed with that, the rest of him had a feeling that this 'Goddess' was just angry that her sister did something to give humanity a leg up over their creation. They both sounded like dicks.

"But..." The Goddess's smile took a mischievous and sly look, complete with twinkling eyes, "...since my SISTERS have champions of their own, why can't i have my OWN champion? Fair is fair after all."

Indeed.

"But why would i need, let alone WANT to be YOUR champion? And why do you need one anyway?" More importantly, why was he here? He should be dead, gone to hell (Or Heaven if that was ever an option) not in this purgatory of sorts. "And what possible reason could i have to accept being your champion and what would you give me to do so, not to mention what would i exactly need to do? I'm an Assassin, a damn good one too boot but killing monsters that look like they've come right out of a nightmare, bearing a resemblance to animals isn't my arena of expertise."

That was true and even if he had killed Juno and her little cult could be considered monsters in their own right, killing an actual monster like these Grimm creatures was a bit out of his usual targets.

"That is true, but i don't plan to send you to Remnant without a few gifts." The goddess smirked, as she held up one finger, "1, because of your...unique situation. I have taken a small piece of the soul of the Assassin's memories you have obtained throughout your training to add it to your own soul, to create a new type of aura: Celestial Aura. Because of the number of souls being added to your own, not only will you have the largest amass of aura anyone has ever seen in Remnant, but your aura will also be a rainbow color, rather than a one aura color, much stronger, much denser than normal aura and will heal you much faster than any other aura on Remnant." Her pointer finger went up, "2, is your semblance. Most people only have one and I have designed a very powerful semblance for you that could only be used to its fullest potential because of the massive amount of aura needed to use it. I call it: Nature. You will have COMPLETE control over any and all nature itself, from animals, to the ground, to the planets, to the weather and the elements themselves. Nature itself will bend to your will and only limited to your imagination, i know you'll use it well." Now the index finger went up, "3, while you will be reincarnate you into a new body, you will still retain your Isu/Precursor blood in your veins and in addition, you will not only have the Pieces of Eden weapons you found throughout your life be returned to you, but you will be a Faunus. A DRAGON Faunus."

"A dragon?" Xero titled his head in confusion, "I thought Faunus were people with real life animal features, not fairy tales."

"Well, dragons are, at least in the Orient, symbolizes supernatural power, wisdom, strength, and hidden knowledge." The goddess said simply, "In most traditions, it is the embodiment of chaos and untamed nature, which is what i need you to be, what REMNANT needs. Someone to shake the status Quo, to implore change and my final gift to you, will undoubtedly bring all four kingdoms to bear down on your head: The final ability is tied to your aura, seeing as you will have so much of it, your Celestial aura has the unique ability to draw and awaken the aura in males." She looked apologetic upon Xero's shocked face, "I am truly sorry to burden you with this young Mazoku but i want, no NEED you to be the embodiment of change in Remnant. Neither Olivia nor my sisters see that Remnant is slowly moving towards disaster and if my sisters do in fact realize it, then they simply refuse to help. I do not wish to see the first world we created be destroyed and if they won't help, then i will."

"By sending me to the meat grinder?" He couldn't help it but the Assassin grand master was snarky by nature and his mouth slipped the leash before he could stop himself. Thankful, the Goddess didn't seem to mind or if she did, she didn't say anything.

"In simple terms, yes. Having aura will change things, make those who like things as they are to be scared but only for a short while. You are mortal, you will die again one day and can be killed, your legend forgotten or twisted. Even if you passed down your teachings of the Assassin ways, it would not change the fact that once you die, more than likely be the first and last male to have aura. Your descendants will be hunted down by those seeking to understand how this came to be and many won't be gentle. Even if you do somehow achieve the peace and stability i wish to create in Remnant, that will not stop the fact you and your decendents have aura that can be awaken. That fact alone will see them hunted forever and i am not foolish enough to believe that restraining aura only to you will fix things. I will not lie, many humans and Faunus are cruel but there are good ones too, i think you understand that."

He did. After the Assassin and Templars made a formal alliance with one another to combat Juno's cult, the two sides realized just how human their once enemies were. On both sides of their repective Orders.

"Yes." Xero slowly nodded, cupping his chin with his hand, nodding again, "Legends can be torn down, altered, humanized from the legendary figures they are protrayed as and outright ignored or possibe even forgotten entirely if given enough time and energy. But if i unlock aura within other males, show people that I'm not just some anomaly and spread our influence as a result, than nothing can stop the change that is needed to save Remnant from the growing darkness. People will be forced to see the truth and no amount of browbeating will change fact, no matter how hard some might try to alter the truth for their own ends. Yes, I can see that." He paused, as he looked at the young-looking Goddess, "And why would i need to change things? I understand this aura thing but why would i need to awaken aura in males? Why can't they do it on their own and what of the females of this world?"

"Aura is the corner stone of what caused a global shift in power in this world." The goddess sighed, a guilty look coming to her face, "Unlike my sisters, i can acknowledge and say when i screwed up. I originally awaken aura in woman, because of how quickly the population was dwindling faster than they could kill the Grimm and at the time, I believed they needed it more than men but in doing so, i basically made it easier for women to awake aura but much harder for men. Men DO have aura but no huntress alive has the means, nor the pull your Celestial aura will have in order to actually reach down deep in their souls to pull the aura upward."

"So, it's kind of like a half glass full kind of thing? It's there in the bottle but not enough to reach the surface?"

"In simple terms, yes. Based off of that, your Celestial aura is the baking soda that would force the aura to go only one way."

"Out." Xero nodded in understand, by that logic it did make a certain amount of sense, "Okay, i understand that much but how does this effect Remnant as a whole?"

"Throughout history, when people discovered only women could awaken aura, the balance of power shifted greatly. Think of the state of the world in the times of the early 1500's, only much worse with monsters roaming about."

Oh wow, the 1500's is when the White men enslaved the blacks, forcing them in the worst conditions possible in the South. But to hear it was actually worse in Remnant, it must have been serious. He should know, he relived Adewale after all and he had butchered plenty of slaver scum.

"I won't go into too much detail but after many years of fighting, humanity has established the four kingdoms, Vale, Vacuo, Mistral and Atlas. There is a fifth unofficial kingdom sole for Faunus known as Menagerie. The last two are places you will want to avoid at all costs and be wary of, as those two groups will be coming down on you the hardest for what you represent."

Change.

And was it just him or was Menagerie the kingdom of these Faunus creatures, the same as a collect of animals in his own world? What's more, despite how she worded it, the master Assassin had the feeling that learning more about Remnant would cause him to deny her request.

"Is the situation that bad?"

Well, the goddess was basically offering to reincarnate him into the body with the powers of a demi-god, to battle not only the forces of darkness but gender discrimination (With the roles of boys being used by the girls, seemly worse than how woman were treated in the 1500's) and to save the world from the dark path it was on or else, all will be lost then the world will end in bloodshed.

God, it almost sounded like one of those old video games he used to play, hell it almost sounded just like "God Of War Ragnarök" with Kratos's son trying to find his purpose and change his destiny.

"While I am making you stronger than any Huntress has been before or present, that does not mean i am making you a demi-god."

Xero simply snorted, crossing his arms over his chest, "Yeah. Having total control over nature itself, from the smallest seed to being able to conjure up hurricane at the snap of my fingers sounds like godly power to me."

"Maybe, but I have no choice if i want you to succuss." The goddess looked the Assassin in the eye, regardless of their height difference, "This will NOT be easy. This fight of yours will not be like in Rome, the West Indies or London Xero. These people, the ones who will hunt for you the hardest aren't like the Templars. Not only are they far more powerful with complete control over their organizations, they really, truly believe what they are doing is right. Olivia? While she may not be an enemy, she will most certainly not be an ally. A distant ally maybe but if you inconvenience her, she will cut you off without a second thought and once you start spreading your aura to others, if she thinks she can't control you, she will get rid of you once she realizes you won't fall in line with her grand plans."

"I take it she is someone who doesn't like being told no?"

"Kind of. In a lot of ways, she's like you, Xero." Ay his raised eyebrow, the goddess went into detail, "She has been fighting Salem for well over a thousand of years, living, dying in every sort of manner. Olivia is NOT a bad person, but she has well been removed from a human line of thinking, she doesn't even realize it herself and being betrayed so many times, has cause her not to trust anyone, not even her own allies. Ironically, it is because of that distrust, in which causes the same allies to betray her, once the truth comes out and increases Olivia's distrust even more."

A self-fulfilling prophecy, eh?

His favorite kind, note the sarcasm. Oh wait, that was ALL prophecies, as more often than not, when someone tries to prevent a prophecy often cause said prohecy to happen.

Still...The young Assassin crossed his arms, "That still doesn't explain why you expect me to accept your offer, let alone do it. Why should i accept your deal? My fight is over, i'm done with war and i do not wish to plundge another world into war."

"I understand that i really do but you and i both know, there can be no change without bloodshed. Besides, i have seen your life young Mazoku and know, you desire redemption for what you have done, to atone for the mistakes you made in your life."

Xero said nothing, it was true and there was no point in lying to a deity. It was true, despite everything he knew he had to do, part of him did in fact seek redemption for what he had done in his world. Even if he had saved it, the war and sheer amount of destruction done to its people and the land set humanity back a few hundred years as a result of the war between the Guardians and Juno's cult.

That wasn't even including what happened when he walked his blood soaked path of revenge,

"There is no shame in wanting to atone for what you have done, young Mazoku." The self proclaimed goddess said, either ignoring or uncaring of his inner tourmil, "This is completely optional, you do not have to do this, i am asking you to do this. It's up to you and while i cannot tell you everything i can tell you this: My dear sister left behind four magical relics that could destroy the world if Salem gets her hands on them. Olivia, in a desperate attempt to keep them out of her hands, created four magical women known as the Maidens. A woman who holds a part of her power to use magic of the elements, very similar to what i am giving you and it can be passed on to others but only upon death sadly. As a result, Olivia has hided from the public eye and as good intents as that was, it left them to be targeted by the worst of the worst. You may want at least one of them on your side, as i have no doubt you could defeat one on your own but your followers will have very low chances of winning against them, even a newborn one."

Lovely.

Xero sighed, as he looked up into the white void that was the sky, crossing his arms as he did so.

"God, does the entire situation sound like the start of one of those fantasy stories Sophia reeded to our children. Still, what to do, what to do?"

Redmption was something he thought long out of his reach and nothing more then a pipue dream. Still, even if he did accept her offer, from what she was saying, things won't be easy.

"If something can be achieved easily, then it's probably not worth achiveing at all."

"Isn't that the truth."

Xero snorted to himself with a bemused smile, before he slowly looked at the waiting goddess, "Fine. I'll do it."

"Excellent." The goddess clapped her hands, as the strange door he saw before, opened up, revealing it to be a bright light, "Just step through the door, when you are ready. Oh," The goddess suddenly snapped her fingers, causing Xero's vision to flash, making him cover his eyes, trying to clear the sudden blindness as she spoke, "One more thing, I've taken the liberty of improving your Eagle Vision. Now, not only will you be able to see the spectacle footprints of your targets, but you will be able to see them shored in a gold color, even if you don't know what they look like. Also, you will be able to see more clearly who friend or foe is. It will come in very handy when you are dealing with hidden enemies and possible spies as well. As for your weapons, you will find them in a hidden vault of the home village you will be born into, it will be hidden in a tomb, under the cave entrance, you will find it whenever you like and to sweeten the deal, i have made you some new Assassin robes with all the equipment you need."

Well, that was handy. Blinking the sudden blindness away, his eyes adjusted enough so he could see in front of him, and Xero took a deep breath, psyching himself up. Well then, nothing ventured, nothing gained he mused, as he took a breath and slowly walked through the portal, to a new world.

A new life.

Done.

Till next time everyone!

Devil out.
