Ursula was walking through the long corridors of Zeta Point. It was weirdly dim and quiet. There were only a few weak lights shining down on her and the only sound that was heard was the clicking of her heels against the floor. That was until another sound broke that. A sound that was suddenly horrifying. Only 24 hours ago she wouldn't care, but now...

A cry of a dinosaur in pain was something that haunted her, especially this cry.

She immediately rushed forward to the only door in front of her. She burst into the room and her heart dropped. Iguano was trapped in a huge cage, crying for help as he was being electrocuted.

She yelled as loudly as ever, begging for this stop when someone walked out to her. They were obscured by shadows. She suspected that it'd be Seth—it feels like something he'd do, but as the figure came closer, she recognized them.

"Blondie?" Ursula made a step back. Her head suddenly shot to Iguano as he cried out once more.

A smirk formed on the figure's face before their appearance changed to the one of Seth. They then snapped their fingers and several cold hands took a hold of Ursula, pulling her back. She was being held back by Alpha Droids as sinister laughter echoed through the room.

She struggled against the droids' grip but wasn't strong enough. Out of nowhere, she felt an electric shock hit her body-

Her body shot up into a sitting position, trembling. She'd swear she still felt the electric shock for a near minute after waking up.

She looked around her, realizing that she was at the D-Lab, remembering that Iguano is safe now. It was the middle of the night and Reese seemed to be asleep beside her.

Ursula got up, wandering around aimlessly just to think about anything else, but that nightmare still plagued her mind. She walked over to a pool shaped like a plesiosaur.

"What is a pool even doing here?" Ursula mumbled. She glanced at her reflection in the water and knelt down. She looked...miserable. That was the best word she could come up with to describe that. Once a feared leader of the three stooges, a second...subsequently a third in charge of the Alpha Gang, the most fashionable woman around was now at her absolute bottom. With no allies, no family, no stable roof over her head. Despite that she looked nothing different, she still resembled what she decided to leave behind.

She suddenly grabbed the band wrapped around her ponytail and her choker with the Alpha Gang emblem on it and ripped them off. She tossed the choker on the ground and stepped on it, shattering the Alpha Gang emblem into pieces.

Reese woke up as soon as light shined in the lab. She noticed that Ursula was already awake, looking down at the pool water. The blonde walked over to her, noticing the broken choker.

"How are you feeling?"

"I've been better..." Ursula mumbled, wiping her face with her hand. She let out a tired sigh. "Why the heck do you have a pool in a lab?"

"It was Dr. Taylor's idea, but I use it to relax when I'm alone."

"Wow, pretty weird place for-" the green-haired paused as she looked at Reese and saw her long wavy hair so tangled and messy. She burst into a giggle. The scientist wasn't at all amused.

"Yeah, yeah, very funny. Should've known you'd react like that."

"So, not a first time, huh? Maybe you should try brushing your hair before bed or tying it up or taking care of the ends," suggested Ursula.

"That's rather helpful advice from you," Reese pointed out, "anyways, I'll go brush it. If you try to steal anything while I'm gone, I'll know." Ursula just rolled her eyes and let out a sigh.

"Need a hand?" the green-haired offered to Reese's surprise. She traced her eyes away quickly. "I mean...as the most fashionable person around I can't let that disaster walk around."

"If that's how you want to phrase it." Reese shrugged.

While Ursula brushed Reese's hair, she appeared much more relaxed than the night before. A proud yet focused smile was painted on her face and just by the way she handled the hair, Reese knew that the woman was no longer as tense as earlier. The movements and force of her hands were surprisingly gentle. It's not exactly something Reese would ever expect from the infamous "old lady" from the Alpha Gang. The woman that the kids described to her as aggressive, mean, and an out-of-control menace actually had a soft side to her. Even if that wasn't the side Reese met at first.

Ursula quickly grabbed the blonde's bag when she wasn't looking, but before she could get away, Reese stopped her. Holding onto her bag, she caught the green-haired off guard.

"What do you think you're doing?"

The villain gulped as she turned to face Reese. Even though the blonde's expression was still very much deadpan, she was obviously fuming. Ursula knew that look well from dealing with Seth as it wasn't out of the ordinary for her and the others to annoy him or even make him mad.

"I'm saving my skin," spat out Ursula as she reached inside the bag and pulled out an egg-shaped card capsule.

Reese was at first shocked to see this, but she quickly reacted and grabbed the capsule as well.

"Hey, that's mine!" Ursula snapped at her.

"This is way too important to let you have it."

"Do I look like I care?! I need it! Besides, how do you know this thing's importance?"

"That is none of your business I believe."

"Oh, it very much is-!"

The green-haired suddenly pulled with all her strength, causing both of them to collapse to the ground, the capsule to break, and two cards to fall out of it. Once the cards hit the stone floor, they lit up in purple light.

It was a surprising side but a nice one; and Reese was sure that it was real. It might've been a stretch to assume so just from how she brushed her hair, but the way she did it made it clear that it made her happier than before.

It was such a simple thing.

Another thing that made it clear to Reese that Ursula's good was genuine was her worry about the Iguanodon. Just hearing Ursula say she'd run to the edge of the world to protect it Reese was certain it was true because she would do the same for Zoe.

Ursula not only brushed her hair but ended up braiding it. She was so focused on it that she jumped in surprise when the door opened. Both women glanced at the entrance, seeing Zoe as she walked in.

"What is going on here?" she asked them, glaring at Ursula.

"W-well, I was just-" Ursula stuttered.

"Ursula offered to brush my hair, that's it. No need to worry," Reese answered.

"What the heck do you think I'd do to her?" Ursula wondered, folding her arms on her chest.

"You were willing to burn the city to the ground, you took people hostage, you faked your age to enter a game show," Zoe listed out.

"You know, these lists usually get progressively worse; maybe you should set your priorities straight," Ursula pointed out, "but a fair point, kid." She frowned and her eyes traced to the pre-teen. "Look, brat, now that you're here-"

"Do not call my sister a brat," Reese quickly interrupted her.

"Yeah, sorry," mumbled Ursula, "anyway…" She took a deep breath before she continued. "Can I borrow your Holder?" The pink-haired pulled away hesitantly, squinting her eyes at her suspiciously. "H-hey, I just want to see Iguano again."

Zoe glanced at her sister, grabbed her by the arm, and pulled her down and away from the green-haired.

"I might've made a very rushed decision," she admitted quietly.

"You think?" Reese raised her eyebrow. "It was pretty naïve."

"We were just trying to help someone in need. When I woke up I realized that we brought in the enemy and that…you're here with her alone," Zoe let out, the worry in her voice slowly becoming more apparent.

"I can hear you, you know?" Ursula spoke up suddenly.

"I already told you that you don't need to worry," Reese whispered.

"I know, but I-"

"Both you and Ursula need to adjust to this situation, I get it. Just give it some time." The young girl's eyes shifted away from her sister at those words; she wasn't sure if she wanted to get used to this.

"Now you sound naïve." She frowned at Reese.

"There is nothing I can't handle, sis."

"Not even a scary old lady?"

"I still hear you!" Ursula snapped out.

"Not even that."

The sister turned back to their guest as if she didn't listen to their whole conversation. Zoe let out a sigh of defeat.

"I guess I'll have to say yes, but the Dino Holder only responds to me, so…"

"Weird… But then-"

"Yeah, I guess I have to…" Zoe rolled her eyes, pulling out her Dino Holder and taking the Iguanodon card.

She swiped the card and a small Iguanodon appeared. He looked around confusedly before noticing Ursula, he ran to her happily. She knelt down, petting his head, a big smile forming on her face. It was such a strange sight, but it was something Zoe slowly learned to accept as a part of her life.

It was later that day that the Dino Holders received a dinosaur signal and this one was coming from-

"Australia, again?" the D-Team wondered.

"Yes and it appears to be near Ayers Rock as well," Reese added in with slight disbelief in her voice. She glanced from the monitor to Ursula. "You don't think…" She got no reply from the woman. The green-haired just bit her lip and shifted her eyes away, holding onto her arm.

"Alright, let's go!" Max exclaimed as the kids ran onto the teleporter platform.

"Wait!" Reese called out to them, stopping the three of them.

"What's going on, Reese?" Zoe asked her.

"It's the Alpha Gang."

"What?"

"Of course. The signal's coming from the exact same place as yesterday," Rex realized, cupping his chin, "the only reason they'd go back there would be to find Ursula." The tall woman tightened her grip just hearing him say that.

"Then what? We don't go?" Max questioned.

"I'm not sure," Zoe admitted and as soon as she did, the signal was gone.

Nothing like that has happened again, the Alpha Gang seemingly gave up. It didn't take them long, huh?

As happy as Ursula was that it meant they wouldn't find her it still hurt to know how little they cared. But she left them behind for a reason or more like, ran away from Dr. Z for a reason and that was that very reason. She couldn't really bring herself to blame Zander and Ed for that, as mean as she was to them, deep down she was glad to have them around when she did. Although, she'd never admit that out loud. She just had a strange way of showing it since she was taught that that's how the doctor showed it to them. Only now she realized how much pain it actually caused. Well, it is hard to know something is wrong when you haven't experienced it being right.

"Are you feeling okay?" Reese asked her, snapping her out of her thoughts. Her eyes shot at the blonde, seeing a concerned look on her face.

"Y-yeah," Ursula let out with a weak smile. It felt nice having someone worry about her like that. Although, she'd never admit that out loud.

Over the course of the next few weeks, Ursula ended up being somewhat of an assistant to Reese. She mainly made her coffee which the green-haired reluctantly accepted. It was a fair way for her to earn at least some money. That was one of the reasons she changed her mind about leaving; she needed money, but also, the place became pretty welcoming over time.

One day when the D-Team was gone on a field trip, the two women got a day off and headed downtown. Ursula really needed to go out for a bit. The two of them went to a café, walking past some clothing stores along the way. Reese had to hold her back and remind to of her financial situation. Well, there was still something of herself that could never change.

As they left the café, they heard something that made them stop dead in their tracks. One of the TVs on display was showing a news report about the Sanjo ironworks being blown up. Staring at the screen, Reese turned pale. This was the exact place that the kids were meant to visit today and now there was a huge crater where the ironworks used to stand.

"Blondie?" Hearing Ursula's voice got Reese back to her senses. She quickly pulled out her phone and dialed Zoe's number.

While the blonde was trying to call her sister, Ursula continued to watch the footage, and what she saw made her heart stop for a bit. She tapped Reese's shoulder, getting her attention again.

"The Alpha Gang," Reese exclaimed, seeing a strange craft with the red logo floating above the ironworks moments before the explosion.

"And Seth," Ursula added, her eyes fixed on a black jet.

Before Reese could ask who that was–there must've been a reason for her to point him out separately–her phone call was finally answered.

"Reese?" The response was enough to help her calm down.

"Zoe, I just saw the news. A-are you okay? What happened?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. We all are, thankfully. The Alpha Gang showed up and wanted to do something with some sort of metal. That's the cause of the explosion. I don't understand any of that," Zoe explained.

"I'm so glad to know you're alright." A smile formed on Reese's face. "So, the Alpha Gang blew up the factory?"

"No," Ursula spoke up, "that doesn't sound right. Zander and Ed would never do anything like that, or at least not on purpose. It must've been Seth, his jet was there."

"Who is this Seth?" wondered Reese.

"Someone like that was there too, but I have no clue who that is," Zoe said.

"He's an asshole," Ursula replied.

"Wait, he's what?" Zoe questioned since she couldn't hear her properly.

"Something…that I won't say out loud in front of you," Reese mumbled before turning to Ursula, "how…bad is he?"

"Compared to me and those two idiots? Really bad. He might not get involved often, but if he does…" Ursula looked back at the screen that was showing the crater again. "It ends like this." The blonde frowned at her words.

"Excellent!" Dr. Z exclaimed as he was holding a can with liquid metal inside it, "finally, successful Alpha Gang mission! Great job, Seth!"

"It was nothing, Doctor," Seth said with a fake smile on his face while two men standing behind him groaned annoyedly.

"I can't say the same about you two!" the old man snapped at Zander and Ed, making them jerk in fear, "ever since Ursula disappeared you were even more of a disappointment to me! You're useless!"

"W-we're sorry," they let out.

"Just get out of my sight!" The two men quickly ran away from Dr. Z's screams. They can't catch a break, can they?

"Do you think he's right…?" Ed suddenly asked.

"What do you mean?" Zander looked down at him concernedly.

"That we're useless without Ursula."

"O-of course not!" he blurted out in panic, "don't worry about what the Doctor says. You know he's always like that."

"R-right…" Ed mumbled as he glanced at the floor, "I just miss her."

"So do I," Zander admitted, "I hope she's doing okay."

"I don't think you need to worry about a traitor," sounded behind them. Seth then walked past them with a cold expression on his face. They watched him as he headed further into the long corridor.

A traitor? Was that really what she was to the island now?

And here we go. Yeah, this chapter is shorter than the first, but I think that it does what is needed.

There isn't much I can say about this chapter other than as I mentioned last time I will try explaining and hinting at how Ursula and Reese met over time.

Well, I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you next time!
