It's been a few months since Bruce had came back to Gotham. Lance had introduced him to his grandchild and pseudo grandchildren. They got along well enough, though Lance supposes that's because Bruce has taken a backseating approach to everything, vigilanting included. Lance questioned it at first, but Bruce told him straight up that Gotham was his now. Bruce was another part of the team (and boy, did they fix up his suit with actual, sleak black full body armor with a red bat on it) but Lance was still the team leader.
It was a lot to take in. Especially once he and Bruce started to see Harley regularly. She and Ivy hadn't killed people in years now. In fact, he and the team started occasionally crashing at the married couple's place every so often. Ivy and Harely basically were honorary Bats at this point, and that was just... Just hilarious.
Lance started off as a normal rich boy, who loved to clean and cook. Then he became a hero. Robin. He fought crime with his family. He even had a crush and everything. And then his life fell apart. And then he got a new family (and won't they be surprised to learn Bruce is alive - though the man has made it clear he'd prefer as few people as possible know he's alive and also sorta, kinda, occasionally offing people) and became something else. Something darker, but still a hero.
And then he met Carrie. And Tim. And Stephanie. Life is... Life is ok, he thinks.

The group were finishing suiting up as they gathered around the table. Lance was so stupid, back when he first started out. There was no way for him to complete steo four on his own. He should have known he didn't have to.
"Alright, Tim you're on Overwatch duty. Hood, you and Robin take Burnley, Spoiler and me will take Old Gotham." Lance said, and when Bruce frowned, the red helmet still in his hands, Lance pointed at him. "And in five hours, when the night starts to get rough, Robin comes back here to relieve Tim of Overwatch. Red X and Spoiler will take Somerset, Hood will take Old Gotham and I'll get Burnley. Any questions?" He asks, and immediately Carrie's hand raises.
"Why do I have to be Overwatch again?" Robin whines. Lance smirks, as he turns to face Tim and Steph. "Mostly to give these idiots a chance to make out during patrol." Tim and Steph immediately start yelling out protests. Bruce almost cracks a smile, and Lance just laughs softly to himself.
"If that's it..." He says, as his puts his own helmet on. The Arkham Knight suit shines in the Asylum, the silver bat on it no longer spray paint. Lance smiles as he stares at his team. His family.
"... I think it's time for Gotham's Knights to rise."
Everyone stares at him, before bursting into laughter. Even his own father has a look of amusement on his face. Lance can't get mad though.
He's got everything he could ever want.
And that's it! I was originally going to have more, of course. A full chapter of Bruce meeting the kids and all that, but I'm just tired of this story.
Plus I think everyone else is, seeing as how no one really cared about it. I'm sorry I couldn't make something that you all enjoyed, but maybe next time?
...Yeah, I'll probably fuck up there too.
Oh, BTW, Bruce's Red Hood outfit now looks like Jason's from Gotham Knights, the one on the cover.
