CHAPTER 3

(MARIO'S P.O.V)

I shut the hood of my car closed, relieved that I had gotten my car started. It was 8pm, and I was hanging out at Tara's, since her mom and her had invited me for an early dinner around 7pm. The front door opened and Tara stepped outside. "Did you get the car to start?" Tara asked, leaning against my driver's door. "Yeah," I responded leaning against the car as well. "Did Sookie call you, and give you an update about Barry?." I asked. "Surprisingly no," Tara responded. "Last night's event with him at the bar was crazy," I gushed and chuckled. "I know right," Tara chuckled as well. "Never a dull moment in BonTemp." "It just occurred to me that you and I didn't get any feedback, considering Barry was in trouble." "Who knows, maybe things worked themselves out." Tara said. "Would you have dinner with me this Saturday?," I suddenly asked, as she glanced away for a moment avoiding my gaze.

"Not yet," she finally turned to me and responded. "I'm not ready just yet." I nodded in understanding although disappointed. I reminded myself that before I entered the picture, Tara had lost the love of her life, and that emotional wounds take time to heal, and I just needed to be patient. Suddenly Mae appeared at the front door with a large bag. "There you are. I thought you had already left. I wanted you to have more of my stuffed shrimp and some meat pies to go." "Thanks Mae-," I began to say about to take the bag, when Franklin Mott suddenly appeared and put Tara in a chokehold. "TARA!." Mae screamed in terror. "LET HER GO!," I exclaimed in anger, ready to rip him to shreds, but kept calm for fear that he might hurt Tara. "You're going to deliver a message for me," Franklin growled at me, as Tara whimpered in fear.

"Tell my associate Barry Horowitz to meet me at BonTemp woods at midnight. To make sure that he comes, I will be taking some reassurance." With a blink of an eye, he threw Tara over his shoulder, and jogged away using his inhumane speed. Mae instantly became hysterical, as she called Tara's name. "Mario," she gasped, as she clung to me, as tears rolled down her eyes. "Bring my baby girl back to me." "I will Mae,"I assured her, as I took her back into the house. Ten minutes later, having no choice, I walked out the front door, and jumped into my car. I sat there for a moment seething in anger. I quickly pulled out my cell phone, and dialed Bill's number. I was certainly going to find Barry. Franklin Mott fucked with the wrong one this time, and by the time I was done with him he was going to be very sorry…

(ERIC'S P.O.V)

As I listened to Sookie explain to Bill, Pam, and I what she learnt from Barry, my mind raced of potential persons who would be capable of this. The four of us were discussing the issue at Fangtasia in my office. It was only a matter of time before this happened, given that I made a lot of enemies over a millennium. Same goes for Bill, especially since he became the King of Louisiana. I admit this wasn't going to be easy, considering the real puppet master behind the scene was practically invisible. "And you're certain that this other telepath Barry is telling the truth?," I questioned Sookie. "I'm certain," Sookie responded. "I even checked his thoughts for any signs of deceit." "I think we should let Barry meet his associate like Franklin asks," I casually stated while everyone stared at me, as if I had grown two heads. "Not a smart move Eric," Bill remarked in frustration. "You didn't let me finish Bill," I then said with a grin on my face.

"Sookie, I need you to get in contact with your wicken friends Holly and Jesus. I have an idea, but it may involve magic." "Do you have any idea who it might be that's targeting you and Bill?," Pam suddenly asked me. Bill was about to say something when his phone suddenly rang. "It's Mario," Bill said to all of us, as he answered, and put the phone on speaker.

"Bill we're in trouble," Mario gushed in panic. "Franklin captured Tara, and is holding her as a hostage." "Where are you?," Bill asked as Sookie started to pace up and down my office in worry upon hearing about Tara. "I"m sitting in my car on Tara's driveway. Franklin also left me a message to give to our friend Barry: He said for Barry to meet him alone at the BonTemp woods at midnight. Bill what the fuck are we gonna do?. If Barry doesn't comply then Tara suffers. We got to do something." "Head to the bar Fangtasia. That's where Sookie and I are currently at, and don't worry we will get her back." With that Bill hung up, as his face grimaced at the news we all just learnt. "Oh my God Bill he has Tara!," Sookie exclaimed in panic. "It's okay Sookie," Bill embraced her with a hug. "We're gonna get her back."
