Slowly walking into the fog was like something out of a movie, you know, those crappy ones where someone gets shot and lands spread eagled on a smal table which, in real life would not be able to hold that much weight - those movies. Overall the bar was... I suppose you could say good. It has lots of tables, foosball, pool tables and it was littered with students and old biker guys. It's a... strange mix. I mean putting creepy biker guys around girls barely dressed young enough to be there daughters. So, umm, that normally leads to a law suit.
'Nice.' I drawled, pushing my ray bans on top of my head. Emily laughed shaking her blonde head.
'Oh I know. My scene Rose.' I smirked at my best friend.
'Guys, you know what we're looking for.' Holly said, just loud enough for us to hear. 'We need to see them in they're own world, not just school.'
'Oh the best part of this plan, School. We are already half way through our A Levels, yet we are in America going to get different qualifcations.' I said with distaste.
'Yeah, I don't like it either. But this has to happen now. Or else we will all be exposed.' Holly whispered.
'We'll go in pairs. Come on Holly.' Lillie said tugging Holly's arm.
'Right. Just you and me now kid.' Emily said nudging my shoulder grinning.
'Oh how wondeful.' I laughed back. 'Pool tables?'
'Might as well have fun while we're at it.' We walked over to an empty table and picked up pool cues while deciding which coin was the right one to put in.
'It's this one.' A deep voice said from behind us, picking up a small silver coin and slotting it into the machine. Lillie turned to him, thanking, smiling, greeting. I don't how I can be best friends with such a social butterfly when i'm...well, not a butterfly. More of a woodlouse or something, always there, always hiding, but when found, thrown out.
'Emily Barker.' She said to the curly haired boy, I could see the distaste in her eyes as he leaned forward.
'Aaron Abbott.' He smirked.
'Well, thanks. But we're gonna play now.' I pointed out turning around and pulling out the triangle and putting the spots and stripes in the right places.
'How about I play with you? Make a little bet.' This is when I smirked.
'Oh yeah. Bet. Explain.'
'If you two beat me and my friends, we'll give you 30 bucks. We win, you give us 30...yeah.'
'Okay.' I said smiling, knowing I was going to get a little bit richer.
'Rose, what the hell are you doing? I want to get away from these perverts. They have looked at your arse about seven times in 5 minutes. Not to mention to creepy look in his eyes.'
'I'm just gonna get this guys money and then we will continue with what we came here to to do.'
'Right. You're better than me, so break.' I looked over at the two boys who seem calm, they think they are going to get our money and then we will have to ask for their tips...erm no.
'Mind if I break?'
'Nah, go ahead. Need any help.'
'I think i'll try on my own first.' I said leaning on the cue before leaning down and praticing my shot gently pulling the cue back and forth 3 times. I pulled back for the final time and hit the white ball which then flew straight into the set up of balls. The two stripes falling into the far end pockets. 'We're stripes Em.' Aaron and his... friend, if you can call him that, stared open mouthed at me. 'Yeah I used to play, a lot.'
'You didn't say that.' His friend exclaimed.
'Does it matter?' I said raising my eyebrows. I smiled and leant back down knocking anotheer stripe into the left side pocket, I missed the fourth. Aaron took his first shot and one spot sank into the top corner pocket, and thats it. The pool cue was passed to Emily who sank in two stripes at once, both into the corner pocket. Putting both my palms on the side of the pool table I leaned forward looking around the bar to see any signs of people using, black eyes, eyes flashing fire etc.
This game continued and we won fast and easy. After I sunk in the 8 ball both me and Em turned to the boys, looking at them expectantly. 'We're not giving you our money.'
'What the fuck. If you had won,' Em started
'Unlikely.' I coughed, I swear I saw Em smirk when I said that.
'We would have given you the money, so come on. 30 quid - I mean bucks. Weird name for money.' I smiled at her, agreeing completly.
'Now-ish would be just lovely.'
'Where the hell are you two from.'
'Yorkshire.' I noted the blank faces and added 'England.'
'Oh, right. I wondered why you didn't know which coin you needed.'
'So you thought we were stupid...nice. Well, I suppose girls would have to be stupid to accept your...advances.' I heard deep laughter from behind us just before.
'Hey, Aaron give them your money.' A tall brunette male said from behind us.
'Yeah, they kicked your ass. Well done by the way.' His blonde friend said and I smiled swallowing my laughter.
'Thank you.'
'Here you go.' Aaron said handing Em 30 bucks. 'Go buy some tea and crumpets you posh toffs.' I kicked him in the balls.
'Call me a toff or even posh again and you will see how hard I really can kick. Do I sound posh... seriously?' I said with my broad Yorkshire accent, looking at Em she shook her head no.
'Also, I may be English but I don't like tea.' Em said in her airy voice, I couldn't say the same. I love tea. Nom. 'Rose does, but I think it tastes like washing up liquid.'
'Have experience with drinking washing up liquid Em.' She raised her eyebrow and I remembered the time Lillie dared Em to drink a little bit of washing up liquid...she didn't drink it, just put it in her mouth. It was like something out of the exorcist when bubbles started frothing out into the sink as I held her hair back... What are best friends for?
'It wasn't my fault.'
'But you keep taking the piss.'
'Cause it was fucking funny.' I said grinning at her. I heard her mumble something, but didn't ask her what it was.
'I think they learned their lesson.' She said watching Aaron being helped back towards his table.
'Hell yeah.'
'I watched the game, that was great.' The blonde standing behind us said.
'Thanks. Again.' I said to the tall blonde. Well, both of them are tall...especially as I am 5'7, Em is 5'5...and they must be at least 6 foot.
'Reid Garwin.' My eyes widened, as did Emily's as the blonde said this. That was easy.
'Tyler Simms.'
'Rose.'
'Emily.'
'Hi.' I raised my eyebrows at his words. 'Do you want a drink?'
'Yeah sure...two cokes please. Could you excuse us?' I said looking for Holly and Lillie dragging Emily behind me.
'Can you believe that?' I whispered.
'No I can't, they're hot.' I laughed, signalling that I agreed.
'Well, one thing Hol. Two of them haven't used tonight yet.' I said as I reached the petit brunette.
'Neither have the other two.'
'Please say we are talking about the two different halves. Garwin and Simms.'
'Danvers and Parry.' We smiled at each other.
'Thank fuck.' Lillie said. I laughed.
'Well, our boys are buying drinks. So au revoir.'
'I hate that you took french Rosie.'
'I love French and don't call me Rosie in public.'
'I will if I want too.'
'Want to what?' Tyler said as we reached them.
'She doesn't like it when I call her Rosie.' Em said.
'I hate you. I really really do.'
'I know.' I laughed at her stupid comments.
'So Rosie...' Reid started and stopped as soon as I turned my ice cold glare on him. 'Woah.'
'Yeah, she glares.' Em said. Well done Captain Obvious.
'Right here you go girls. Two cokes.' I took a little sip of mine and put it on the table, and then turned and sat down on the chair. I looked round to see Holly, Lillie and two guys walking over.
'Hey Guys.' We all said at the same time. I then realised this must be the other two.
'You know each other.'
'Since Birth.' I said.
'Us too.' The four boys replied. All at once. I think we all stifled our laughs as they didn't seem to notice, nor did they find it funny...Americans Pfft. (A/N No Offense (: )
'Cool.' Lillie said, her everpresent smile widening. Em and Han grinned at her, I gave her a small smile. These boys, sure they are teenage boys with powers beyond imagination, But we will all be stuck in a mental asylum. I could feel it, another vision, I burned behind my eyes, Like I was seeing two different things at once. It ached, My head, it pounded with the inevitable future.
'I'm going home.' I turned and walked out, not looking back.
Emily
I stared after my best friend, her red hair floating down her back, She was taking the exposion threat worse than the rest of us, she will see what's going to happen way before it actually happens - as soon as the first event which lead to us being exposed, she will know. It hurts me to see her like that. I bit my lip, I took a step back but Holly grabbed my arm. Letting me know I can't. I have to stay.
'What's up with her?' Reid said, watching the close slowly close after Rose.
'Migraine.' I whispered.
'How do you know?' Caleb said, suspision in his voice.
'She gets migraines. All the time.'
'Why? For how long? She got painkillers?' He said, voice laced with hidden nerves.
'Quit it with the third degree alright. She has a friggin' Migraine. Comprende - migraine.'
'Alright. He didn't mean anything. Come on guys.' With that, they left.
'Shit.' Holly said. 'Chase has been here.'
'But, we put a banishing spell on him.' I said, my voice catching in my throat.
'It didn't work properly. It must of banished him from England.'
'But we were meant...'
'To banish his powers from him. Banish them from -' I said, confusion etched in my voice.
'Chase himself.' Holly finsihed for me.
'Or it worked, and he retrieved them?' Lil said, trying to think of any way out of this.
'No, Aunt Rebecca put a binding curse around the powers. And plus, once the powers are banished from him, he'd die.' I said, referring to Hannah's Mum.
'If anything, we made it worse.' Lillie said, putting her head into her hands.
'No. Because, with the boys power, we can do anything.'
'They might of killed him already.' Lillie said, hope in her voice.
'Unlikely. We would have felt it, that amount of power. Especially after he had ascended.' I whispered. 'I'm gonna check on Rose.'
And then, I couldn't just wait for ages, couldn't listen to them talking about him, I ran out of the smoky bar, and past the four boys, pulling my hood up and banging on the volkswagon's window.
