This is a poem I wrote last year for a poetry contest in the space of less than 30 minutes. In the end, I got second place, so it must be at least somewhat good… Well, enjoy!

To Fight...

by chocolatecatcupcakecheese

To fight, and destroy those who threaten peace,

The skylark cuts down those who disturb his sleep.

He might look foreboding, but he really does care

He is strong beyond compare...

To become stronger; be the right-hand man,

This boy tries hard, the best he can.

Though he kills those who threaten his peace-loving boss

Fireworks are still such joy, all words are lost.

Whether baseball or kendo, he's the joyful, hopeful one

Naïve and sweet, he is all about fun.

He washes away the blood and dust with his rain

But when the fighting is over, he shines bright again.

Flashy and dazzling, he stands out from the team

Always determined, his life is EXTREME!

Boxer with kangaroo, the bright-shining one

He plays the part perfectly, the seashell's sun.

One red eye, one blue eye, they stay out of the sun,

Cloaked in mist, the mysterious ones.

Once so possessive, he's changed, just a bit

He'll come back with Nagi, to play: "Tag, you're it!"

The youngest by far, it's all just a game

Brother or boss, it's one and the same.

Always annoying, tugging on Chrome's skirt

He's the little weirdo in the cow-patterned shirt.

The contradiction: strong herbivore, weakling of a boss

With his power, he'll never let his loved ones be lost.

On his forehead, his resolution, burning bright:

The mark of his Dying Will, to fight.
