Kana: Hello dear readers, Hotaru-san is running a bit late today for the intro to chapter 2 (rewritten) however she would like to say that she apologizes for such a long hiatus and please do not be offended if she didn't answer any reviews-

Hotaru: W-WAIT I'M SUPPOSED TO- *hypnotized by Ayato*

Kana: Thanks Naoi ,Ahem, so before I was rudely interrupted she also wanted to add that she is grateful for the advice in all of your reviews.*points to Ayato*

Ayato: Hotaru does not own Angel Beats, only that peasant behind me-

Kana: HEY!

Ayato: -and the plot. Read the story, I command you to. *evil gleam*

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Kana's POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Ugh.. Where..am I?"

I groaned and quickly grabbed my head, a dull ache following sharp pain as I sat up, my vision blurry. I allowed my vision to focus on dark green vegetation, much like the one you'd find at schools. Slowly, I realized I was in a bush and thoughts rushed into my head like flowing water.

Where was I? Was I pushed into a bush by Ayako or Yuki and why is it so noisy?

As I sat up carefully, my jaw slowly dropped, my magenta eyes widening. Many girls and boys looking about my age were fighting against...

"A girl?" What surprised and shocked me most was the fact that this certain silver haired girl seemed pretty tough, almost invincible plus the fact that she had some kind of blade in her sleeve. My eyes widened as I saw her blade cut a person's arm. 'I-I need to help them' I thought. 'But then... I might be hurt as well and i'm already in a bit of pain and I'm not very great at combat '...

Faint music and many cheers and shouts could be heard in the distance, accompanied by the sounds of clashing metal and fired gun shots. Pieces of paper floated and flew around in the air as if all was silent and in peace. A piece of paper landed on my shoulder as, yet, I was too busy in my inward debate of whether I should help out or not.

"Good, you're awake."

A feminine voice dragged me back into reality and out of the depths of my mind. I flinched and turned, sea green eyes and magenta hair in my vision.

"Who? Umm..why? Uh.. Could you tell me exactly where I am?" I asked somewhat desperate sounding to know what was going on, where I was, what was happening at that moment.

"The afterlife."

Oh ok so I was in the afterlife... "WAIT WHAT!?"

The magenta haired girl glanced at me for a second and then returned her focus to her gun, which I only now noticed. "The afterlife." She repeated as if it were some unimportant object.

I gave a confused and surprised expression plastered on my face in response. "It means you have died, vanished. Taken from the living world we call Earth." She turned slightly to look at me, her sea green eyes boring into my magenta ones. "We are all dead spirits,"

"Even you."

I cast my eyes downward and she back to aiming at someone or something with her gun.

I remembered the events that led to my own death. 'You guys...I...'

I slowly and hesitantly cast my gaze up at her focused expression. "I-I...I remember now what happened..." She turned to look at me and put her gun down. " Sorry, I haven't introduced myself. The name's Yurippe, but most people call me Yuri." We cast our gazes upon another, Yuri waiting for a response.

"Kana, Kana Unareshi." Yuri stared at me, almost observant, before opening her mouth to say something.

"Kana, I know this is sudden, but will you consider joining us?" My jaw dropped slightly. What was she asking me to join? Don't tell me that the events down there were a part of some sort of fighting club!?

Yuri caught my uneasy expression and watched as I responded. "What exactly will I be joining?"

"The SSS, the Shinda Sekai Sensen."

"But, why?"

"To fight against God." Yuri turned to me, a somewhat serious expression plastered onto her face. My eyes widened, I was speechless. However, at the time, I could not comprehend really anything going on and my thinking...well... there was no thinking, not a lot at least.

"Will it uh, give you a new start?" I asked, yet I was still unsure of why I was considering to join.

Yuri's expression brightened ever so slightly. "Sure."

I stood slowly and started to make my way down the steps of what i realized was an entrance to the school. I paused and turned to Yuri who was waiting for a response.

"I..I'll consider it, I just need some time to...think it over." I said somewhat hesitant but sounding sure at the same time." Yuri brightened and said "Ok." I returned the smile back, continuing my walk down and she, observing someone in the distance. I was confused and hesitant about joining this...SSS group, but.. if it could give you a new start.. then I think I'll join it.

Again, thoughts swirled around in my head while I walked down the seemingly never ending stairs until I had bumped into someone.

"Ah, um, sorry!" I had quickly yelled an apology and bowed slightly. I quickly realized this was the silver haired girl who I had seen fighting her way through many people and panicked slightly in my head as I bowed continuously for a few seconds. This silver haired girl merely nodded and was about to turn back until I stopped her again.

"Uh, umm.. Is this really the afterlife? Can you please prove to me that this is the afterlife?"

Even though I had considered joining SSS, I still felt like I this might be a dream and I would wake up soon to greet my friends and apologize to them and tell them "I'm so sorry" continuously. I turned my attention back to reality only to be greeted with a nod from the girl. I heard Yuri's slightly distant voice but as I turned back to the unknown girl, all I saw was a rush of silver hair before a sharp pain entered my chest. I looked down, my eyes widening as I saw the same gleaming blade she had being taken out of my chest, deep red liquid staining my clothes and the blade itself.

I fell to the ground, red seeping out onto the floor creating a painting of ominous swirls on the cold,hard ground. Right before my consciousness faded away and the pain turning into a dull ache, I uttered out,

"Why must I die again..."

Hotaru: So that was the rewritten version of chapter 2. Also I'd like to thank every reviewer for their advice (I used the advice in this chapter and the previous one)and that I apologize for such a long response and update.

Kana:...Ok so I guess feel free to favorite or/and review if you haven't already and now we do response to guest reviews.

Hotaru: Also account reviewers I will if I haven't already, respond to your reviews on message and as for the guest reviewers, I'm not going to respond to some because many of them repeat one another, so my response will count for many other reviews.

I am so sorry that it offended you, I did not mean to offend anyone with that part of the story, at the time before I rewrote this I thought they were good reasons and I hope you can overcome it one way or another. Thanks for the good luck by the way :) .
