Chapter 3

Shay's POV.

I didn't want to admit that I made a mistake. I know I did but admitting that will take a lot of courage that I don't have.

We got back to the cabin without a word said. We walked in ad suddenly everyone knew what happened. The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Anna stood up and motioned for me to go in our room. As soon as she shut the door she turned and looked at me. Obviously trying to figure out what happened. I'm guessing she gave up and just decided to ask but didn't know how.

"Shay… What happened?" she asked quietly looking at the ground.

"I-I…. I accidentally attacked Serena." I said just as quietly.

"WHAT?!" she screamed.

"Shut up Anna I'm sure everyone in China heard that! I didn't mean too it was an accident. I didn't feel any Originals present so I thought it was a deer but it obviously wasn't."

"Ok… Well why is James mad?"

"I don't know he screamed in my face and hasn't talked to me since."

"Maybe he'll talk to me…"

"ANNA!" Kendall yelled from the front room.

We ran to the living room to see Carlos had attacked Kendall and they were wrestling in the floor. Anna just shrugged them off and went to find James.

"Shay please help me…" Kendall begged.

I sighed and heaved Carlos off of him and sat down next to Halley. I didn't even have to say anything to them. They know I don't want to talk right now. That's the good thing about being a vampire. You don' have to tell people how you feel. Sometimes.

I got up and looked out the bay window and saw James and Anna arguing. Apparently Anna got to him because he kicked a tree… over. Anna turned toward the house and shrugged. She turned around and slapped James across the face. He didn't seem fazed though he just smiled a little and hugged her. When she shoved him away she put on her best serious face and poked him in the chest, pointed to the house, then smacked him up side of the head. He shook his head no really fast and that apparently didn't make her happy. Anna then grabbed his hair a pulled him all the way up the yard and onto the back porch.

"Shay can you come here please?" I heard my sister ask.

I walked over to the porch door, took a deep breath, and opened the door. James still looked mad but he looked more afraid of what Anna would do if he left. I didn't say anything even when Anna motioned towards James. We just looked at each other.

"Dammit one of you talk. Now!" Anna screamed.

James flinched when Anna screamed but you know if I just got slapped in the face by her I'd flinch too.

"Shay I-"

"You what James? You're sorry for yelling at me? You're in love with her? You know what I don't even want to hear it. Thanks for the help Anna but I just realized I don't care." I said.

I pushed my way past everyone in the door way and went to my room slamming the door behind me. This is going to be a long night.

….

THE NEXT MORNING

"Shay get up we gotta get out of here."

"What? Ugh Kendall what do you want?"

"Shay get up hunters found us we've got to get out of here!" I heard Anna chime in.

Wait- WHAT? Hunters how?!

"It's our fault we weren't being careful now get up I'm pretty sure they followed us!" Kendall said.

Ugh he read my mind.

"Yes I did too know get that cute butt of yours up, put clothes on and let's GO!" Anna yelled.

I jumped up and pulled on my black skinny jeans and a red, white, and blue crop top with a white jacket over it and dark red ballet flats. I packed up all of my clothes, shoes, make-up, etc. like Anna and Ken were doing. When we were all done we peeked out all the windows and doors.

"I don't see anything" Carlos whispered.

"Me either…" everyone echoed at different times.

Jaydee opened the door and ran out. She was followed by Carlos, Halley, Logan, Anna, Kendall, James, and then me. I was a little hesitant at first because every time something bad happens it happens to me. I stepped out on the porch, looked around the sped off after the others. I wasn't really paying attention to what was in front of me because I was doing a pretty good job with avoiding things so far. But I spoke too soon. I crashed hard into some one. I stood up really fast and looked at who I ran into. It was James.

"I'm sorry wasn't paying attention." I said trying to push past him.

"No." he said," You're not leaving this time. I get a say I in what happened too."

"You had your say remember? It's done I'm done talking about it."

He shoved me up against the nearest tree. I tried to push him off but he is older and stronger than me.

"James. Get. Off." I gritted out considering he was crushing my body with his.

"Shhh. Shay shut up."

I was about to retaliate when about 5 guys with crossbows walked into view. It was then that I realized they were hunters and the leader was… the Sheriff? He knows about vampires? What is up with this town?

"James we have to get out of here." I whispered really quietly.

He just shook his head. No? Well what are we supposed to do? James shifted his weight and a twig snapped. Almost instantly multiple arrows came shooting at us. We took off dodging them all and out running the hunters. We caught back up with everyone else at the edge of town.

"We need to go in to town. They won't do anything with witnesses. We can call my parents they'll let us stay with them. They live in Italy. Those hunters will never know." Kendall said.

We walked into Reba's Coffee and sat in the back corner booth. The guys went to use the phone leaving us girls alone. We didn't know what to say. I looked out the window when suddenly coffee is sat in front of me and James has his arm around me. I smiled at him. I knew this was his way of an apology because you see James has pride issues. He won't apologize for anything. But anyways I turned into him and rested my head on his shoulder and sipped the coffee he got for me.

"Well turns out that my parents aren't home they're in Germany but they said we could go to their house and stay!" Kendall announced walking back over to the booth.

"It's getting late though. Are we really going to try to get to Italy tonight?" Halley asked rubbing Logan's arm.

"No I wouldn't put you guys through it but I think we should get out of town." Kendall replied.

"Yeah considering Mr. Sheriff over there was the leader of the group we barely dodged." James said.

I looked up. Sure enough the Sheriff and the guys that were with him were sitting on the other side of the café next to the door. They were talking in hushed tones so I stood up and walked past them to go to the bathroom.

"I don't know Dan." One said.

"Well what do we do Jesse? We can't exactly tell the town to hide away because there are vampires lurking around in the woods."

"Look Dan that girl." Uh oh. "She's one we chased off."

I immediately turned and ran out the door. I know everyone else followed. We had to get out of here. Tonight.

A/N. Ok hey guys! Please don't hate me I got a new computer and well I just got it. I was going to post a Christmas story but I got this computer for Christmas and well… Yeah so I deleted some stories I just wasn't feeling them but I'm keeping this one I changed the rating because pretty soon there are going to be some pretty steamy things going on. So hopefully updates will be more frequent I've been working for hours on this chapter and reviews are liked I will take your constructive criticism well unless it's something like 'this is stupid' or 'what the hell is this supposed to be' I'm saying this because I uploaded some of these onto Quotev and people there are very mean if something isn't about Justin Bieber or One Direction. Anyways Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!
