Brady sat in his hospital bed alone, attempting to process everything that had happened. There had to have been more with Mack's father. She had always told him that her father was never around, but now that he was brought up..Something didn't add up. He tugged at his bandages thoughtfully. He would most likely find out eventually, right? But then again..He wouldn't have known much at all of Mack's past if it hadn't been for any of the major events that had effected their lives. Maybe he wouldn't ever find out. But one thing was for certain. She was hiding something from him. If only-
"Ah!" The pain in his leg seemed to flare up. He had plenty of broken legs before, but this one in particular upset him for no apparent reason. A nurse came waddling in to give him some painkillers. She smiled toothily at him.
"You feelin' better? Some folks wanna talk to ya, but they ain't sure if you're ina good 'nough state ta talk to."
Brady groaned. "Whatever, just let them in." As if they had been listening, two police officers, a man and a woman in their late forties, came bursting into the room.
The woman smiled politely and simply asked the nurse to leave.
"Hello, Brady, I'm Dasanna, and this is Mike. We're going to have to ask you a few questions about the incident, if you're feeling okay." The man grumbled in agreement.
"Now, uh, has anyone at home ever hurt you before?"
"My dad, yeah, quite a bit actually."
"Mhm, and your girlfriend?"
"Never."
"Well, uh, Brady, there's been some debate over this. We have no previous records against your father, and he claims that Mackenzie was the one who has hurt you."
Brady snorted. "Yeah, well my dad's a liar."
"Ok, well could you please tell us what happened last night?"
"No."
"Nothing at all?"
"No."
"And why is that?"
"I can't..I can't remember it."
