My eyes adjust to the darkness and a third figure reveals itself against the horizon.
Uriah.
Just as I am overtaken with an exhilarating flood of relief, a fourth figure comes into view.
A fifth. Five silhouettes?
I gasp and stop dead in my tracks. I can feel Tobias's frustrated expression rather than see it. I know it is there, but I do not care. Three bodies were running full speed in the same direction as us. Forward. He should know better than to think I am willing to be blindly led into the darkness. I have had more than enough unknowns for a lifetime.
"Tobias, WHAT is going on?!"
I was exhausted, and once again out of the loop. We had been running for what felt like miles and there was still no immediate danger that I could see or sense. It might not have been smart to stop in the middle of a field, fully exposed, but after all I have been through I need to know what I am up against.
"Please. A summary."
"Uriah was on watch. We were being followed, but they're like us. There are bad people who know where we are, Tris. We have to RUN." He turned and started to jog, waiting for me to follow suit.
That was all I got out of him before the first explosion.
