AN: I am sorry it took so long to get back to this story. But I am going to end this story with the chapter and then start on the next story the saga dealing with Sybok's rebellion, Khan's attack on Earth and Syon's eventual rise to power.

Epilogue- In the Glow of a Thousand Suns

A dark cloud of uncertainty, hate, and fear hung over the imperial palace.

Everyone moved silently through the halls of the palace like ghosts unaware of each other presence, slowing decaying under the stress of dealing with the unknown.

Both Nyota's and T'Pring's status rose considerably after my father was crowned Emperor. T'Pring became empress and despite the disappointment of carrying a female child, the new Empress used the pregnancy as an excuse to escape her personal troubles.

Emperor Spock perhaps in an effort to give my siblings and me chance to become better accepted among the other members of the family did two significant things; first he gave my mother the title of Grand Imperial Concubine of the First Rank. Second, he granted both Tarek and I the title of Grand Imperial Prince, only Sinok whose new title of Crown Imperial Prince was higher.

Members of the royal and noble families became divided amongst themselves about the growing power they felt my mother was being given.

Little did they know that their fears would someday be justified.

My thoughts were interrupted by my mother rushed into my room screaming.

"Earth is under attack!"

My eyes widen.

My heart pounded faster.

I stood up and faced my mother and infant brother, "It would seem Sybok has made his move."

"What is going to happen?"

"Now it is time for me to make my move."

"Syon…."

"I have waited for this moment for a long time. I swear to you mother, Sinok nor his mother will ever live to see the true power that being emperor allows. I am the rightful to heir to the throne and once I have acquired it my siblings and I will rule and expand the empire to heights never before imagine! I have seen my ascension in my dreams since I was small child and now I will take every advantage to claim my birthright!"

My mother lowered her head, "I know I won't live to see you take the throne, but I always known there was nothing anyone can do to stop you. I sensed this ever since you realized your position in this family. All I ask is that you never forget your human blood, never forget me. For I am your mother and without me there is no you."

I moved closer to my mother and touched her face, "I am not human. I never was. I am Syon. I am a prince. I am a Vulcan. And someday I will be Emperor!"
