Doubt

Gadreel sees the residual fear that briefly flashes in Metatron's eyes as they both pick themselves up off the floor in the aftermath of the suicide bomber. When things explode there is always collateral damage—Gadreel winces as movement aggravates his own injuries, can see a few dead humans scattered around the bowling alley. Tyrus is nowhere to be seen, vaporised into atoms, and the bomber is a burned-out husk lying a few feet away. The floor surrounding them still hisses and crackles from the heat.

Metatron smiles a small smile, a criminal uninhibited by morals or honour.

Gadreel doubts.

THE END

Author's Note: 100 words! Huzzah! What an episode, huh? I am so scared for this finale, it's crazy. I just thought Gadreel was brilliant in this episode—after everything he's done, there's still a part of me that likes him. Unfortunately it's not looking too good for our friend Gadreel right now...
