Chapter 3: Zelda

Shadlink and Link first went to Barns so Link could grab some bombs and after that they were on their way to Hyrule Castle.

[South Hyrule Feild bridge to Castle Town]

As the two approach the bridge Shadlink put the hood on his tunic up before entering the cloak of Twilight. This way no one could see his face, soon a hand reached out for Link to grab. When Link grabs the hand he is pulled into the Twilight. Once again changing to his wolf form. This time however he would be stuck for a while since there was no spirit to release the Twilight around Hyrule Castle...

"Link keep it low... I fear the monsters my brother is controlling are set to look for me... We don't want any unwanted attention..."

"Okay." Link barks in a normal dog bark but Shadlink understood what he was saying

"Good to know you understand. Now where is Zelda's quarters?" he asks the wolf

Link looks to the towers and point to the one on the back left, "That tower near the top." he says

"Alright lets hurry!" Shadlink says swiftly dashing for the castle Link not far behind. Soon the two reach the gates and it was being guarded by two Twili. The two held up and tried to think, "I have a plan..." Shadlink whisprers "I will carry you over my shoulder while you play dead. So if they stop us I will tell them I am going to the Dungeon to lock you up. They will never know."

Link thought a minute before speaking "I hope you're right about this..." he says collapsing for Shadlink to pick up. When he does he carried him up to the castle gates where the two guardsmen put their spears in the way stopping him.

"Halt warrior state your business!" they both say in perfect sync.

"I have brough the hero of Hyrule that stopped Lord Gannondorf years ago. I am going to lock him in the Castle Dungeon." Shadlink says adjusting his grip so he did not drop Link.

"Great job youngblood you may pass." The guards say and move their spears and open the gates. Shadlink walks through and makes sure they were in a secluded area and hidden before he winked and let Link down.

"Nice going now lets hurry!" Link says rushing the tower staris with Shadlink not far behind. Soon coming upon Zelda who gasped with their sudden entrance next to her was a small Imp. The two stay put until Zelda speaks

"wha- who are you?" Zelda asks directly at Shadlink. In response Shadlink put his hood down revealinghis face and Fused Shadow. The Imp looked at him with surprise like she knew him,

"Shadlink is that you?" she asks in the native Twili language.

Her voice... both Shadlink and Link knew it all too well and in unison the said with surprise "Midna?!"

The Imp chuckles at their surprise. "Well its good to see you two as well."

"You know these two?" Zelda asks the Imp who nods

"Yup and you should know the wolf, its Link the holder of the Triforce of Courage!" Midna chuckles "The other is a the son of the King of Twilight. His brother is causing this. But Shadlink how were you able to survive in the atmosphere of Hyrule without a shadow to hide in?"

Shadlink responds by showing his hand, the Triforce symbol glowing the center shaded with the rest in an outline. "Becasue I hold the forth Triforce... the Triforce of Bravery!"

"Barvery... but that's like the same thing as courage!" Midna says

"Well from what I understand to be the triforce of bravery you have to have the courage to make sacrafices. The wisdom to know what's worth fighting for and the power to press on when there is little point left. So really to really be brave you need all three other traits." Zelda explains

"Anyway back to the point." Midna stands up and heads to a chest. She opens it and it help four small mask parts. She hands them to Shadlink.

"Midna what are these?" he asls

"They are the other four fragments to your Fused Shadow. But be warned Shadlink your fused shadow beware of its power... it is strong but it comes with a price... the evil nature of the fused shadows causes emotions to be toyed with." Midna says "Only use it as a last resort understand me?"

"Yes ma'am!" Shadlink says

"The guard will be here soon you two. Head back to Kakariko Village and look for Ian. He is one of our best garuds and our youngest. Take to him this letter." Zelda hands Shadlink the letter and sends the two on their way.

"Shadlink make sure you practice your magic before entering any temples you will need it."Minda yells as the two leave

"Midna please go with Link... I fear he may be in less danger if just Shadlink is with him... Link is easy bait for Gannondorf." Zelda requests of Midna

"I am sorry Princess I cannot... Shadlink has to to this alone... it is his destiny" Midna replies

"Then I prey the goddesses may watch over him. Even though he is from the Twilight Realm..." Zelda prays

"Zelda our natural born Twili are very kind souls I think they will protect him." Midna tries reassuring Zelda

[West Hyrule Field]

The two decided to do a quick spar session to ensure they both had good sword skills. "alright Shadlink let's see what you got!" Link says starting a slash. Shadlink dodges to the right and thrusts at Link only for it to be blocked by his sheild. Link then tried a spin attack. Shadlink was able to hit Links blade just right when he executed the attack to knock him down and Shadlink had his blade inches from Link's throat.

"And with that you would be dead." Shadlink smiles sheathing his sword and throwing the Master Sword back to Link. Who stands in shock,

"You held the Master Sword but did it not hurt?" he asks, the weapon could not be touched by any with evil or dark hearts... and by Nature Twili are dark at heart... could Shadlink truly be different from other Twili? Link thought of this before Shadlink interrupted his thoughts

"No it did not." he says "But your sword skills are quite the sight."

"Back at ya I have never seen a block for the Spin Attack that will not only disarm me but put me where I would be defenseless and dead in a second. I will have to remember that move." Link says sheathing the Master Sword. Shadlink helps Link up and the two head for the inn in Kakariko Village to deliver the letter to Ian.

To be continued. I hope the explination on the fourth Triforce give the clarification for its purpose.
