Chapter 4: Forest Temple

Link and Shadlink find Ian in the hot srpings when they give him the letter he opens and reads it.

"Alert Queen Zora huh?" he asks "Okay thanks you two." he stands up and walks off.

"Okay... now what?" Link asks

"I dunno." Shadlink responds

"How about heading into the Faron Province and speaking to Faron to guide you?" Midnas voice comes out of nowhere before she spawns out of Links shadow surprising the both of them

"How long have you been there?" Link asks her

"Long enough to see Shadlink show you a thing or two." she chuckles

"Oh ha ha!" Link scoffs grabbing some grass and blowing it and soon Epona comes to him. "Well Shadlink meet you at the Faron Woods." he says taking off

[South Hyrule Feild]

Link was riding through calmly before a dark fured wolf with red fur highlights going from his nose and down his back in a long strpe comes up on his side and speaks to him "Finally caught up." he pants

"Shadlink is that you?" Link asks surprised by the wolf's appearance

"Yup you aren't the only one who can change to a wolf you know. It's a Twili ability I have" Shadlink replies

"Look out!" Link yells as the two avoid a large energy ball. The two look to see who it came from and they see Gannondorf standing with laugh

"Ha ha ha! So we meet again Hero of Hyrule!" he laughed

"Gannondorf..." Midna says who had been floating with link as he rode. Soon Shadlink shifts back to his normal form

"So you're Gannondorf?" he says "I've been dying to finally give you what you have coming!"

"You and what army?" he laughs "You cannot defeat me! I have the absolute power the power that three people chosen by the gods wield The Triforce of Power!" he laugh showing the mark of The Triforce on his hand "Now I am impressed to see a Twili in the light and survive... guess there is more to you than meets the eye..."

"Objection! Make that four!" Shadlink yells showing his mark of Bravery (Note: read chapter 3 where Zelda explains how it is different from courage that way it will make more sense)

"A forth Triforce impossible!" he says "You're petty tricks will never fool me! The forth Triforce is a myth! Besides a Twili would never be selected for that! You where damned by the gods!" Gannondorf looks at him and laughs "It was good for a laugh though."

"Okay then... Allow me to show you the power of The Triforce of Bravery!" he growls drawing his blade "I will have you pay for what you have done to my brother!"

"Wait brother... your Shadlink? Huh guess there really is more to you than meets the eye. No matter I have no time for your petty games." Gannondorf laughs disappearing in a puff of dark purple smoke.

"Coward!" Shadlink yells

"Let it go we need to get back to Faron." Link says

"Your right." Shadlink sighs as they reach the spring the spirit appeared shortly after. "You ave done well the both of you... Now listen up the Forest Temple has been contaminated by a spirit of great evil. Shadlink it holds one of the three remaining parts to your fused Shadow." Faron explains

"Wait I though they were all broke in into four!" Shadlink says

"No... Shadlink yours was broken into 7 due to your hold of the triforce." Faron responds "But while on the subject before you may enter the temple return to Arbitors Grounds and speak with the Sages they have something for you." Faron finishes and departs.

"Okay more extras." Shadlink sighs "I guess if we move now we can be in the desert by sundown." Shadlink returns to his wolf form and dashes off with Link not far behind.

[Arbitors Grounds; Mirror Chamber around 10 PM]

the two walk into the chamber where the sages awaited them. "You have returned." one says

"Yeah Faron told me something about my fused shadow and you held something for me?" Shadlink says looking at them

"We need your sword" a different one says reaching out. Slowly Shadlink takes his sword off and hands it in the sheath to the sages. They hold it up and with a glow of light it changes and of floats back down on to Shadlinks back

"Your Twilight Blade has reawakened into the Bane of Shadows. This mighty sword was forged by the gods specially for you Shadlink. Only you can properly wield it!" they say to him "no go get your fused shadows and defeat Gannondorf once and for all!" the plea

"Hold up!" Shadlink stops "I have a question!"

"What is it?" A Sage asks

"If Midna destroyed the Twilight Mirror here and my brother has mine then how will I get home after?" he asks them

"That we do not know. With hope you can find a way to return but if not you will have to remain in Hyrule reveared as the Legendary Hero of Shadows." a sage says

"Okay one last question, what is the big difference between this weapon and my Twilight Blade besides the blade being a little longer?" Shadlink asks

"Absolutely nothing except the fact the Triforce glows a tad." the sages say "We just wanted an excuse to give you information"

"Okay I am going to pretend that makes sense and play along since the Prophecy tells me to. And by that I mean the scip-" Shadlikn begins but his hit by Link in the head "OW!"

"Hush! It's a Nintendo series we never make sense! Why else are we going to run through a random temple and beat a large monster that already lives there? Because otherwise Nintendo will stop giving us our Rupees!" Link says

"Okay fine let me rephrase what I said." Shadlink says rolling his eyes "Awesome so now my enemies will know that the power of the triforce kicked them back to their moms!" he says with faked enthusiasm

"Much better." Midna says from Links shadow
