Chapter 9
Ciel's eye twitched as he watched Alois talk aloud to himself, If he's never taken care of anyone before, then why in the hell am I going to let him start by attempting to take care of me...?
Ciel watched as Alois gradually got closer to the raven haired teen.
He'll probably kill me before the day even comes close to an end... He added to his previous thoughts on the matter.
Ciel leaned back against the couch, resigned to his fast, as Alois found his way into the large kitchen.
"I've always heard that chicken soup helps the sick... Now... Where do I get a chicken..?" He questioned as he opened every drawer and cupboard he came into contact with, as well as poking through a very stocked fridge.
Finally, he came across a can labeled Chicken Soup.
Oh.. This will work too! He then sought out to find a bowl to put it in.
Ciel listened to Alois make a raucous in his kitchen and raised an eyebrow slightly.
Is he looking for freaking Narnia in there or something..?
He was about to go investigate what he was doing when Alois practically stumbled back into the living room carrying a wooden serving tray that had, balanced precariously on it, an opaque bowl and a glass of orange liquid he presumed to be Orange Juice.
God, he hoped so, at least.
Alois wobbled over to the couch with it and Ciel could hear it rattling on the tray.
"If you drop that, you're paying for it." Ciel informed him.
"I'm not going to drop it! I've got it! I'm doing perfectly fine!"
Ciel raised an eyebrow, "Uh huh... Sure." He said as Alois shakily set the tray down on the table in front of Ciel.
"Hah!" He exclaimed happily as he jumped up and down and clapped his hands like a happy little child.
Ciel rolled his eyes in annoyance but sat up anyway, His cooking is probably going to be the last thing I ever taste... He thought, grumbling as he picked up the spoon anyway.
Hesitantly, he took a bite of the soup before slowly looking up at the blonde.
"What.. The hell.. Did you do to this soup...? Ciel questioned him.
Alois frowned, "What do you mean...?"
"It tastes weird..." Ciel admitted, risking hurting a fragile blond boy's feelings.
Alois' happy moment was gone in an instant, his smile had quickly turned into a frown of depression.
He was about to cry.
Ciel's eyes widened just a little bit; for some strange reason, he felt bad for hurting him.
But why on earth would he ever feel bad about hurting anyone?
Ciel turned his head away pretty quickly and mumbled something, Alois sniffled a response back,
"What..?"
Ciel let out an inaudible sigh and twitched his left eye, God, how I hate repeating myself...
"I said.. I'm.. Sorry.." He said in a hushed tone and averted his eyes from Alois even more.
Alois smiled brightly again upon hearing his apology as he tackled Ciel into a hug, which made them both fall back into the couch where Ciel had previously been laying.
He attempted to hold the full bowl of soup out of the way, but he was sure that some of it had managed to spill over the side and onto the table and carpet.
"Gah! Alois!" Ciel exclaimed as he quickly pushed him off and sat up.
Alois giggled at him, "Whaaat?"
Ciel took a deep breath, "Don't... Do that.." he said.
"But Ciel! You're so cuddly and huggable!"
Alois grinned at him like an idiot as Ciel attempted to right himself and straighten his dark blue pajama shirt.
He glanced at the blond out of the corner of his eyes.
"And what are you grinning at..?
"You." More giggles from the blonde.
Ciel ignored him and continued to eat his odd tasting soup.
As Ciel was eating, he began to get quite bored, and quickly at that.
There was nothing on in the background; No music, no television, no one outside screaming their freaking heads off and having a good time.
There was no noise at all, and it was bothering him all of the sudden.
He glanced over at Alois, "Go put in a movie or something..."
Alois turned his head to Ciel, smiled and nodded before running over to the giant television, "Okay!"
Ciel twitched at just how excited this boy can get over a simple thing such as picking a movie to watch.
Alois smiled, Yaaay, movie time with Ciel!
As Alois was looking through the movies Ciel owned, it came down to a very tough decision...
Romance, Comedy or Horror... Alois thought to himself.
Alois knew that if he asked Ciel out of the three, he'd probably pick Comedy.
So, without asking, he thought, Well, if I pick Romance, he'll get mad and probably turn it off himself... If I pick Horror.. I can cuddle with him if I get scared! But he'll probably push me away... Then I'll just have to keep trying! I'm sure he'd be ok with Horror, anyway...
And, upon that decision, Horror it was.
Alois put all the other movies back where he had gotten them from as he popped the Horror disc into the DVD Player.
Getting up off of the floor, he ran back to the couch and plopped down next to Ciel; grabbing the remote off of the coffee table, he then pushed the Play button and leaned back against the cushion.
Ciel was watching the screen as all these commercials and previews aired first.
Those annoyed him the most, he just wanted to watch the movie for Christ's sake.
Suddenly, the title screen for the movie finally appeared.
...Evil Dead... He picked a god damn Horror movie...
Ciel twitched as he set the bowl down after he managed to finish the odd tasting soup...
"Why..?"
Alois blinked and looked up at him, "Why what..?"
"Why'd you pick this movie...?"
Alois smiled, "Because it's a Horror Movie!"
"...Thank you, Captain Obvious... I realize it's a Horror Movie."
"Then why'd you ask?" Alois giggled more.
Twitching again, "Because... I don't want to watch th-"
The girl in the drain suddenly appeared on the screen and started singing that creepy song.
"Oh god..." Ciel muttered as he looked away and tried to ignore it to the best of his abilities.
That shit is so creepy... Ciel thought as Alois hid underneath a pillow and whimpered.
Ciel twitched, "If you're scared, go turn it off!"
Alois shook his head vigorously.
"And why not!?" Ciel questioned.
"Beeecaaauuse! I want to watch it with yoooou!" Alois admitted.
Quickly working up the courage, Alois found the remote again that he had dropped when the girl started to sing and quickly pushed the Play option on the screen.
Ciel twitched.
Great, now I have no choice but to sit here and watch a freaking scary movie with him... I should've just went a picked a movie instead of asking him to do it... Ciel thought.
Alois grabbed the pillow again and held it tightly to his chest as the movie finally started.
I have this pillow to hug, if I get super scared, Ciel is right beside me! Alois shouted in his mind.
Ciel frowned as the movie began to play.
Curse my father for ever buying this damn DVD... You and your darn Horror Films... Ciel thought as he turned his head to face the screen.
I wont chicken out... They both thought at the same exact moment.
As they were progressing through the movie, another scary part came on the screen.
Getting freaked out, Ciel quickly leaped off the couch and grabbed the bowl, sat it on the tray and took the entire tray into the kitchen as he practically slammed it down onto the counter.
Alois' eyes widened as he watched Ciel leave.
He left me! Nooo! He quickly hid his face back into the pillow he'd been holding the whole time.
At least I still have this pillow... And it wont magically grow arms and legs and just take off on me! Alois shouted in his mind, once again.
Ciel put his hands on the counter and leaned forward; Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath.
I really don't want to go back in there... He thought. I really hate horror movies... Which is why my father always complains when I wont watch something with him, all he ever picks is a horror movie...
Alois whimpered, and Ciel could hear it from the Kitchen, which caused Ciel to open his eyes and lift his head.
If you don't want to watch it, then just turn it off Idiot... Ciel thought, but dared not say it out loud.
He didn't need to feel strangely bad for hurting the kid again, nor does he want to really argue with him either.
Ciel put the dishes in the sink and put the tray away before he took another deep breath and proceeded to walk back into the living room.
Grumpily, he sat back down on the couch and glanced to the screen.
Ciel figured they were about halfway through the movie by now.
Hopefully this last half wont take forever and I can just turn the regular television on and find some sort of show to watch... He thought.
The last half of the movie actually seemed to drag on for forever to both of them.
Alois had tried to cuddle with Ciel but he was just shoved away, which caused him to whimper and hide his face back into the pillow; but he did try and several occasions to cuddle with Ciel from fear of the movie.
Ciel continued to twitch, because every other minute or so, the blonde would try to cuddle with him; and he sure as hell did not like that.
Ciel hated to be touched, he even flinched away from his father sometimes whenever the parent got too close to him or tried to put his hand on his shoulder.
He just wasn't a touchy individual.
But, the movie finally ended and this time, it was Alois to leap off the couch and ran to the DVD Player.
He took out the movie, put it back in it's case before putting the entire thing away, and then Ciel turned the tv back to normal and put it on a random station before flipping through to find something they wanted to watch.
Alois kind of fast walked to the couch and sat back down, a little closer to Ciel now than he had been before because, even though the movie is over and off, he's still terrified and hugging the pillow to death.
Ciel glanced over at him and inaudibly sighed, again.
Awkwardly, he raised his arm and hesitantly put it around Alois' shoulders and gently pulled him closer.
He, too, was still scared, but he'd never admit to it out loud.
Alois was a little shocked at first to see that Ciel had actually pulled him closer, but shook that feeling off pretty fast and replaced it with one of happiness.
He felt like a child hyped up on Candy, he couldn't contain himself as he snuggled into Ciel's side.
Oh, now Ciel regretted it, but found out that he couldn't push the blonde away now that he already accepted him.
So now, he had to sit there and deal with it.
Should've thought that through a little more before actually acting upon that thought... Ciel told himself.
Oh my god, I'm so happy! Alois was positively wriggling beside Ciel.
Ciel flipped through the TV channels and tried to find something mind numbingly stupid to watch after what they just endured during that Horror Film.
Hmmm… Adventure Time? That would probably hold the blondes interest…
…Wait… What? Why do I care what holds his interest?... Pfft. Whatever.
Ciel didn't dwell on it for too long and just reclined comfortably back into the plush cushions of the couch and left the station to play the ridiculous animated television show.
Alois gasped "I LOVE this show!"
"You would..." Ciel mumbled to himself.
"Huh?"
"Nothin'"
Ciel grinned privately as Alois shrugged his shoulders and turned back to the television.
They ended up sitting there for about an hour and a half, just watching Adventure Time.
Ciel, for some reason, couldn't bring himself to change the station after the first two episodes finished running because the blond sitting beside him was just so excited that there were more episodes on after that one.
So, Ciel had to sit there and deal with it.
Once the short marathon of Adventure Time was finally over and there weren't anymore running afterward, Ciel pulled away and got off the couch.
Ciel could feel Alois' gaze at his back, so he turned to look back at him as he raised an eyebrow, "I'm going to make dinner." He stated as he left the blond sitting there on the couch all by his lonesome.
Alois blinked and turned around on the couch with his hands on the back of it as he watched Ciel walk into the kitchen.
Before Ciel was completely out of the blond's sight, Alois caught himself looking right at Ciel's butt as he was walking away from him.
Realizing it now, Alois giggled and sat back down on the couch properly as he picked up the remote and began surfing the channels again for anything else to watch while Ciel was busy in the kitchen.
It only took Ciel 30 minutes to completely prepare and cook dinner as he called out to Alois to come and eat.
Ciel had already set the table for the two of them, they were on separate ends of the table because Ciel didn't Alois close to him anymore because Ciel was getting these weird feelings in the pit of his stomach; and he didn't like it.
Alois and Ciel both got their food as they sat down and ate in silence.
Neither of them said a thing during dinner, they kept to themselves the entire time, and would for much of the rest of the evening.
It was a companionable silence, content to just be in one anothers presence.
Once they finished, Ciel got up and proceeded with doing the dishes as Alois put his dirty dishes into the sink for Ciel to do as well.
Once everything was loaded into the dishwasher, he ran it to be un-loaded in the morning before school, or he'd do it after he got home from school, if he felt well enough to go.
Ciel went to take a shower once the kitchen was clean, once he got out, Ciel basically went on with the rest of his night as if Alois wasn't even around, meaning he was studying or doing homework that Alois had brought over with him when he decided to take it upon himself to come take care of Ciel.
Alois just sat next to him quietly, having nothing much to say, the excitement of the day having died down
Once it got pretty late, Ciel decided he was done for the day and wanted to go to bed.
He put everything away and got up off the floor as he walked up the staircase to his room, Alois following quietly behind him.
Ciel gave Alois a pair of his pajamas, not really giving the gesture much thought, and they both crawled into Ciel's bed.
For some reason, Ciel didn't seem to mind it at the time.
Alois had the tiniest of smiles on his face until he fell asleep with comforting warmth beside him.
He knew that Ciel wasn't putting too much thought into what he was doing, just going about his life as normal and making up for the extra person in it, but… It was nice for somebody to care…
'Kay, so, we're both terribly sorry we haven't been uploading chapters as often as we had liked too. We've been busy, haven't hung out too much and when we did we never got around to working on the chapters even though we stated we should. It just... never happened the way we would have liked to.
And since we're running out of Undertaker scenes, we need to come up with a bit more, since we actually have two pages of random Undertaker scenes... xD So we have to do that, we haven't started on the next chapter which we're going to do tonight. (It's currently 12 minute to 2 in the morning. xD)
So, here's this chapter, we'll hopefully get the next up and running in the next couple of days and we'll do our damnedest to make it pretty long. So, look forward to that!
