A month later Koga continued to work in the Archangel organization under Z's orders. He had to say everything was going great. Z did just as he said; he coordinated them to respond to crime in a speedy and productive way. Anytime there was an incident that his abilities were best suited he would get a call to act on his special issued phone. He still had no idea who Z was or how he was able to afford all the technology and resources at his disposal.

While things were going well in that part of his life, his main life living with his boyfriend Inuyasha were not so good. Koga noticed that his boyfriend seemed very distant and preoccupied lately, his Inu also came home late usually looking exhausted like he has been working nonstop. He really wanted to know what was going on at his book store and he needed to find out soon.

"I'm home!", a tired voice called. Koga's thoughts were interrupted by his love's voice in the living room.

"Hey Inuyasha, it's like one in the morning!", Koga quickly walked from his home office into the living room where he swept Inuyasha up in hug. The white haired man went a little limp instead of returning the hug.

"Inuyasha you've overworked yourself again", Koga said a little bit of sadness in his voice, he hated seeing his lover torture himself with all this work.

"Yeah well I have a lot of stuff to do", Inuyasha plopped himself on the couch.

"How much work does managing a book store entail?", Koga asked sitting next to him, wrapping an arm around his waist while Inuyasha rested his head on Koga's shoulder.

"Oh you don't even know; there's fiction and nonfiction I have to deal with, and don't even get me started on new releases", Inuyasha sounded more and more tired with each word he spoke, ending it with one big yawn.

"Well I can't argue with that", Koga chuckled at his Inu's explanation, "Seriously though If you need help I can always take some time off and give you an extra hand at the store".

"You just want to have sex in the back of a bookstore", Inuyasha said in a tired monotone voice even though he was joking.

"Okay you got me", Koga laughed and held Inuyasha tighter, "Seriously though my help is all yours".

"It's alright, I can handle it", Inuyasha could be really stubborn sometimes, but that was one of the many reasons Koga loved him so much, "Besides things should be slowing down soon", he said with another yawn. Koga was about to press the issue, but he looked over and noticed Inuyasha had fallen asleep. Smirking at his peaceful expression he picked him up and carried him bridal style to the bed they shared. He laid him down and stripped him of his clothing before doing the same for himself.

Koga spooned behind Inuyasha and just listened to him sleep soundly for a bit. He decided then and there that if Inuyasha was not going to ask for his help then he would have to go down to his store himself and give him all the help he so desperately needs.

A few hours ago

Inuyasha sat in his large control room surrounded by monitors, screens and control panels. He took a sip from his coffee mug as he sighed in frustration. So far the Archangel organization was going great. More super powered beings were joining around the world and together they were reducing crime rates daily.

Inuyasha rubbed his temples as he thought about the draw backs to all this success, the one being the object of his love Koga. He was having difficulty juggling both lives; this was all proving harder than he anticipated, much harder. He loved Koga and he knew he was spending less and less time with him, coming home late, and falling asleep in front of him. Inuyasha could tell Koga was getting upset by all this even though he never let it show, he hated hurting him like this.

"When things start to die down and crime starts to fall I'll make it up to you Koga, I promise", he said to the framed picture of Koga he kept in the Archangel control room. It was a photo he took of his boyfriend just as he was waking up in the morning, the lighting was absolutely perfect, and he looked so cute splayed out on the bed shirtless, with his hair down.

He snapped himself back into work mode, typing away at the key boards to fill out reports and sending orders to the archangels. Inuyasha decided to try and get done early hopefully Koga will be asleep by the time he gets home and he wouldn't have to lie to him about what he was doing, he hated lying to him.

The Next Evening

Koga made the walk down from his nightclub to Inuyasha's bookstore. He decided to leave Miroku in charge while he surprised Inuyasha. His boyfriend would probably be mad at him sure, but he was sick and tired of him working himself to the bone and tonight he would do something about. Walking down the street where he first laid eyes on his beautiful Inuyasha he walked into the familiar bookstore and approached the front counter, not seeing his lover anywhere.

"Hey Shippou, where's the boss?", he asked the red haired boy sitting behind the counter.

"You mean Inuyasha, I don't know you should ask Miss Sango, she would know", Shippou said like any innocent child would.

"Thanks kid", Koga headed to the back office and knocked a few times, the light inside was off which struck him as odd, since the store was still open for another hour, so Inuyasha should logically be here.

"Oh hey you're Koga, Inuyasha's boyfriend right?", a voice said behind him. He turned around to see Inuyasha's friend and assistant manager.

"Hey Sango, I heard you're dating my pervert of a friend Miroku", he said with a knowing smirk. She blushed and tried to deny it, saying they just hung out a few times, but eventually admitted that they were indeed in a relationship.

"He's such a huge flirt, not just with me, with every pretty girl that crosses his path", she grumbled.

"Hey count yourself lucky, out all the women he has flings with, you're the first girl to get him into a serious relationship", Her eyes widened, Sango obviously hadn't thought of it that way.

"So what are you doing here anyway?", she asked.

"Well I was hoping to come in and see Inuyasha", he didn't mention that he thought Inuyasha was overworked and that he came here to help out.

"Oh he left about an hour ago you just missed him, he's probably back at your place by now", she said like it was ordinary. Koga's suspicions were suddenly aroused, but he didn't say anything. "He must really love spending time with you, since he's been leaving a few hours early for a while now", and with that his suspicions shot through the roof and he quickly shifted into his detective frame of mind.

"Oh, yeah he certainly does", Koga fake chuckled before continuing, "Hey before I go do you mind if I go into Inu's office, I think he left his phone here, I tried calling him a few minutes ago and he didn't answer", he smoothly lied to her.

"Sure the doors unlocked, just go in and turn the light off when you leave", and with that she went back to work.

Koga slipped into the office and switched on the light. He realized that Inuyasha was not spending his late nights here working, but instead doing something else. The part that hurt most was the fact that his love was lying to him and he wanted to find out why. He started going through the things in Inuyasha's desk looking for any sort of clue as to what he was doing or where he might be right now, a note, a piece of info, anything. Koga's heart was heavy as he thought of the worst possible scenario, like perhaps Inuyasha was cheating on him with someone else.

After a few minutes of searching he found nothing even remotely suspicious. Leaning against the wall he lightly tapped his head against the surface behind him and accidentally knocked down a framed picture of Inuyasha's mother.

"Oops, shit", he whispered to himself. Koga carefully picked up the picture knowing how important it was to Inuyasha, but before he placed it back on the wall he noticed a secret wall safe where the picture was, it must have been hiding this compartment.

Koga knew he shouldn't open it, but curiosity got the better of him. Luckily for him he knew how to open these small safes. After a few maneuvers with his hands the safe door clicked and unlocked. Pleased by his success he flipped the door open; there was only one item in the safe to his disappointment. It looked like some sort of object wrapped in a cloth, and with his curiosity yet to be satisfied he reached in and pulled it out. Removing the clothe he felt his heart sink, this was beyond anything he could imagine, none of the worst scenarios his mind came up with could amount to this.

In his hand was an object he was very familiar with, in his hand was the white dog mask of his greatest enemy and still wanted criminal Phantom Blade.

I'm so sorry for the huge delay in updating this story, I just got so wrapped up in other stories .

So now Koga knows the truth, it took him long enough to figure it out. How will he react, what will he do? You'll find out in the next chapter. There's not much left of this story two maybe three chapters. I actually have another AU story I'm doing after this story with the same pairing as this one called The Ghost of Ookami Mansion, If you're curious about it, then read the summary on my profile page.

Until next time, Thank you for reading.
