"Aster!" I screamed, looking around the darkness, it was so cold, and I was so tierd. The deafining silence made my head spin. "Aster, where are you? I'm scared." I sobbed, spining, trying to find something, anything, in the never ending darkness.

I sat down, my head falling into my hands, what was wrong with me, of course I didn't want to die. I had just fallen in love, I was in love.

"Please, I want to see Aster." I begged into the darkness.

Aster's POV:

Did I love Jack? I don't know, I bearly knew the kid. But sometimes the way he smiled, and the way he cried, I just wanted to hold him, and protect him from everone.

"But how do you protect someone from themselves?" I wondered out loud, earning a few strange glances from some nurses. I needed to get out of here before they put me in the psych ward. I knew there was a little coffee shop down the street a few blocks. I decided that was as good as any other place.

When I stepped outside the wind was cold, and it bit at my skin. The leaves that clung for dear life to the branches, rusled.

The walk was fast, but calm. As I stepped into the warm air of the cafe, I was greeted by a waitress in her mid-twentys, she smiled sweetly and showed me to my seat.

When she handed me the menu she said.

"Let me know if you need anything else." Then she winked sugestivly, spining on her heel, walking back to the counter.

Was that waitress flirting with me. She was pleantly preety, but I just couldn't get my mind off of Jack.

Was I really in love with the boy. Yes, I was, and there was no more ignoring it. I needed him to know. Just as I realized this my phone rang.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Mr. Bunnymund?" a voice on the other end asked.

"Yes?"

"This is the hospital, we were wondering if you had brought Jackson Frost with you. He seems to be missing from his bed." I felt my heart stop.
"What?" I asked, jumping to my feet. I threw some money on the table, rushing outside.

"One of our nurses went to check on him and he was missing."

"No, I don't have him, but I'll find him." I said, cutting off the call. I rushed back toward the hospital.

I hadn't been gone that long, how far could he have gone?

My unsaid question was answered by a crowd gathered by a tall building.

"What's going on?" I managed to pant out to a bystander.

"There's some kid up on the roof." That was all I needed to rush into the building, taking the stairs two at a time. I slammed the door open, the cold air hitting me.

There, in front of me, Jack stood on the edge, looking at the clouds above.

"Jack..." Jack jumpped, one of his feet sleeping off.

"Jack!" I screamed, running for him, just as he began to slip.
