"Lord help you all If I don't find my silver convertible flats!" Roared Barbie rampaging through her fifth closet or so as I stood in front of my mirror admiring my newly died locks of chocolate with a strand of red.
I'm not sure what allowed for me to have my strands match my natural roots but I was delighted that Barbie even let me pick out a few outfits of my own accord without a word.
The only thing I could think of as to why she was being nice was A) sometime worse was soon to follow or B) Barbie was feeling some sense of guilt in her current stage of soberness.
WAM, went the umbrellas, boots, and contents of the living room coat closet.
"It's odd to see her so focused." I whispered to Stacie as we both poked out our heads from the parlor room.
"its even odder she's not making us clean this up or find those flats for her." She answered as Barbie thrashed our things back into the closet commenting on how we all have to many closets.
"Do you mean her Cinderella shoes?" Piped up Chelsea wearing a gown of ocean blue and with a necklace draped as a crown across her messy strands.
Worried we would be the ones to cause this version of Barbie to fade, I was quick to make her take me to them, certain they were in a obvious place.
Going from the parlor to the kitchen to the back staircase, intended for servants, Chelsea released a started gasp.
Startled my feet bounced as I did my best to not collide into her. "WHAT'S WRONG?" I demanded attempting to rebalance Stacie back to her feet az her arms wrapped around me.
"I LEFT THE SHOE RIGHT HERE!" She exclaimed her little sapphire orbs widened.
Stacie huffed. "That was pretty dumb of you."
"Shut up,it was not! What Cinderella story do you know where she doesn't leave a slipper?" Argued Chelsea.
"This one apparently." Stacie then smirked and before I could prevent it they were going at each other like piranhas.
Trying to detain them and to keep the noise level down, I did my best to end their desires to tear each other to shreds.
"CUT IT OUT! Or I tell Barbie." Was the empty threat that caught em both and allowed me to regain my sanity as the three of us went up the stair case, emerging us onto the work out and entertainment floor of the dream house.
Splitting up we began to seek out Barbie's shoe and room by room we found nothing.
"Chelsea, where were you playing at besides the ballroom and the stairs?" I asked interrupting the new explosion between them that existed over either or not giraffes would use gold or green plates.
"ummmmmmmmmmmmm" was the phrase that rang amongst the thrashing of things from the floor beneath us.
"oh yea I was in the garden earlier when Grace and her sissy Courtney came over..we were having tennis lessons!"Chelsea informed me happily as Stacie sighed and began to lead the way towards the east balcony with the stairs.
Making it past the patio, pool, and dog house. We all froze when we found Taffy with the shoe.
Stepping closer she growled knowing what we had came for.
"Easy now" I coached taking light steps towards her, doing my best to avoid the mud puddle that bubbled near by.
Giving my sisters a mouthed out count of 1,2,3!
I went for the collar, Chelsea went for the shoe, and Stacie went to try to hold taffy in place.
Feeling the links of the chain pulse and vibe as my hands tried to grip the too, I checked on our progress with a discouraged sigh, seeing that Taffy was as wild as a bull as she thrashed and growled about. Soon causing us all to fight in a game of tug of war that ended with us getting free mud baths.
"UGG You stupid dog!" I cried out as my originally planned outfit for the showcase was now in dire need of dry cleaning.
While I was discouraged, my sisters took to the mud like piglets and giggled as they rolled about.
With all the commotion,Barbie came out.
Her piercing eyes glared but soon softened a tad when she pieced together what was going on.
Marching to Taffy she gave our dog a w that demanded obedience and said nothing more as she went back in.
"Are we gonna die or something?" Whispered Stacie as she slowly came out of the mud.
"Makes you wonder...but I doubt it, she needs us" I confirmed extending my hand out to Chelsea.
Taking it, she gooped off the mud from the folds of her gown. "you're wrong guys" she announced.
"oh did a little birdie tell you that?" Asked Stacie rolling her eyes.
"if we have birds for ears." She giggled. "and since we don't... I was in the pantry sneaking a few..I mean I" my youngest sister then spent a few moments deciding if she was going to own her crime or a story.
"I don't have all night you know." I told her Checking how much time we had til my show.
"you have to double dog swear to stick a needle in your eye even if it makes you cry promise to not tell Barbie." She insisted as she nervously looked about.
"ill even pinkie swear on it." I smiled extended out my pinkie
Her orbs then went to Stacie. "and you?"
Stacie began to shrug before I nudged her and gave her a look that forced her alliance.
Chelsea the sighed with relief. "whew okay so I may or may not had been taking cookies when I should of been doing my after school get fit when I heard Barbie talking to a man on the phone in the laundry room." She answered.
"so besides being a piglet you really didn't tell us anything." Scoffed Stacie before the two of them began to bicker causing me as the oldest begin to wonder why did they have to be so loud and irritable all the time.
"Chelsea did Barbie ever say the mans name or why all the sudden she's acting like a well to do sober woman who actually attends half of her jobs?" I asked gesturing for them to follow me around the side of the house towards the front door.
"His name was Darrin, no Eric, no maybe it was David, or Finnegan" she concluded causing Stacie and I to just blink in wonderment at how Chelsea's train made it far past its station.
"and he's coming to the gallery with Barbie tonight." She added as we headed through the grand entry way that might as well been Barbie's hall of fame.
"THE SHOWCASE" I exclaimed realizing how late it was. "WE STILL HAVE TO GET READY!"
Taking both of my sisters by the hand I began to rush like never before to help them get ready.
Forgetting that Barbie was in some weird mood or that she was bringing a friend or perhaps a date.
