Chapter 4: Sister of a Lost Guardian

FYI: Mysterie1985 is a spirit that will be revealed.

A week after the threat of the Dark Guardians, the Guardians decided to increase their security; Bunny would only leave his Warren for Easter and decided to shorten his visits to Sophie's grave, Tooth would let the fairies collect the teeth instead of doing it herself just in case, North would only leave the Workshop for Christmas and tried to busy himself in a strange book he found in his library earlier, and Jack would pair up with Thowra as they delivered wind and snow to the world although Jack would make an ice creature to watch over Thowra as he went to the warmer climates of the world.

"I need to have a talk with him." A spirit hidden by the clouds said as they watched the cold duo fly towards the North Pole, which was where they were lodging until Jack was able to make his own kingdom, before hovering to the ground near the lake in Burgess and found the slightly covered-up hole of a certain spirit. They used light from their hand to uncover the hole and flew into it to be suddenly bombarded with darkness and stairs.

"Well well," A familiar voice said as the spirit came into a huge cave with cages hanging from chains connected to the roof, a rusted globe that no longer spun and looked like the oceans were removed out of it, and of course the Nightmares staring at them as another spirit walked through them to see the spirit. "If it isn't the little light." Pitch said as he smirked at the spirit and they stared back in annoyance and anger.

"Yeah yeah, save it for someone who cares," The spirit said as they looked around curiously before looking back at the so-called Nightmare King. "Where is its' source?" Pitch laughed a bit before looking at the spirit curiously. "Who's source?" He asked as he leaned a bit towards the other, making sure that the light emanating from the spirit never touched him. One word. Only one word was spoken and echoed throughout the chamber.

"Bitterness."

"You're getting good," North said as Thowra flew around the workshop, delivering the yetis whatever tool, paint, or missing part that they needed. "Just watch out for-" "Ouch!" "Beam." He finished as he watched Thowra pull himself off of the wooden beam and continued delivering as if he was unaffected by the slight crash. A yeti came up to him and said something which caused North to suddenly look serious and left the wind sprite to himself with the yetis.

As he walked into the Globe Room, he noticed that the elves weren't around. In fact, he hasn't seen any of the elves all day and just thought that they were playing hide-and-seek but now... something was wrong here. The Globe didn't look any different, the lights were still glowing and no shred of darkness went unchecked by the new feature on the Globe.

He was about to leave when he noticed something was off. On the Globe, near the tip top of the North Pole but where his workshop was hidden, was a golden dot.

"Hey Grandfather!" Thowra said as he flew next to the white bearded man. He considered the Guardians as his family: Bunny was 'Uncle Bunny', Tooth was 'Aunt Tooth', Sandy was 'Big Brother Sandy', and North was 'Grandfather'. He just hasn't figured out what to call Jack yet. "Can I feed some of your reindeer? Or help with your paperwork?" Throughout months of living with North after the darkening threat at Tooth's Palace, he's becoming more outgoing and less reserved although once in a while he'll coil back if someone tries to touch him. He's still working on that.

"For now," He said as he put his arm around the sprite's shoulder. "How about we have your first Guardian Meeting." He pulled his arm back just in time for the sprite to jump fifty feet in the air to scream "YAHOOO!" A yeti looked at him curiously before talking to North and pointing at the excited sprite. "His first Guardian Meeting." That was the only answer the yeti received.

"Okay North," Bunny said as he, Sandy, Tooth, and Jack stood in the Globe Room an hour after trying to calm down an overexcited wind sprite, and said sprite was currently held to a chair by Sandy's dream whip until he calms down. "What's going on now? And incase you haven't noticed I've still got two million eggs to finish up." And cue the Easter vs Christmas exchange. Tooth was directing the few fairies that came with her of where to get the teeth while Sandy was, as usual, asleep.

Jack looked from the arguing duo to Tooth chattering away to Sandy sleeping to Thowra tied in his chair as he slowly calmed down. It kind of pained him though, everyone else had a title that the wind sprite would call them. Everyone...except him. The only reason it didn't hurt a lot was because Thowra said that he didn't know what to call him since there's some mixed feelings.

"Are we going to start the meeting or what?" Thowra's voice sounded over the arguing, Tooth's chattering, and woke up Sandy for them all to see the wind sprite completely calm but bored since nothing happened after he was forced into the chair.

"Right," North said as he remembered why he called the Guardians. "There is reason. Something strange is going on." As he spoke, a huge magnifying glass appeared and zoomed in at the glowing dot on the North Pole. "That's it?" Bunny asked in surprise as everyone stared at the dot, unsure of why it was there. There was no child at the North Pole and the last one to visit was Sophie when she was ten.

"It appeared out of nowhere," North stated as he gained everyone's attention. "While I was watching Thowra helping the yetis." Thowra looked at the dot curiously before having a shocked look as he remembered something. "Sorry for leaving early," He said as he started floating. "I just remembered I had to go somewhere important." He then flew out of an opened window, not waiting for any of the other's protests.

"Guys..." Tooth said as she stared at the Globe in surprise. The others looked and saw what she was staring at. It was strange though, the change was small but it was visible that even Bunny stopped thinking about his eggs to see it. Who would've known that it was changing because of Thowra leaving the Workshop.

The glowing dot that was on the North Pole, was moving.

"Heh. What makes you think that I have its' source?" Pitch asked as he stared at the glowing spirit in front of him. "Because you're the first creation it's minions had to transform, you are unaware of your daughter's current condition, and oh yeah..." The spirit started before looking angry. "You captured my brother."

"Leyiha." He said as he remembered another spirit who was with Nightlight when he captured him. The spirit was a girl with pale skin, flowing silver hair that reached the middle of her back, and very pale gray, almost white, eyes that shone like the stars. Her outfit consisted of a pale blue long sleeved shirt, darker blue shorts that reached her knees where pale turquoise boots met the ends, and a very long flowing silver-white cape that was a gift from her brother before he was captured.

"Bitterness needs a place to hide its' true power until it eats enough souls to create more minions," Leyiha said as she looked past the Nightmares and around the cave. "And since you're its' first creation, it had to store its' power with you." Pitch looked at her uneasily before looking at the Ruined Globe and noticed the moving light.

"Bitterness has already created dark versions of the Guardians, including that light," She said, making Pitch look at her in shock. "He told them to threaten the Guardians, and if you don't hand over the power by the Lunar Eclipse..." She paused as she looked at the ground in fear of what would happen if she couldn't stop Bitterness in time. "The only thing I received from Bitterness was that it said to start getting ready," Pitch answered before looking at the ground. "Now I know why."

Both of them looked at the Ruined Globe as the moving light stopped in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
