Charmed Season 9: Our Generation

Powers and Secrets – Part III

Disclaimer: I don't own Charmed! Ok continue….

Patricia and Stephen parted, looking intently into each other's eyes. Patricia's were still red and humid from the tears she had shed and sorrow could still be seen in them, as Stephen's eyes were trying to emanate happiness and reassurance, but guilt and pain were unmistakably evident in his gray-blue eyes.

She moved her hand from his platinum locks to cup the side of his face, brushing her thumb over his cheekbone, he sighed contently taking in the beautiful girl before him, and he couldn't help the chuckle which escaped his lips over the sight of her bright pink hair.

Patricia's eyes filled with confusion as she turned her head slightly to the side, a questioning look on her face, left eyebrow raised, and lips twisted.

"Even at a time like this, you can't put your training to rest, can you?" He asked smiling, but Patricia's brows joined in confusion.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Your hair." He stated tugging lightly on a strand of her hair, bringing it up to her line of sight, rubbing it between his thumb and index finger.

"How?...I…" Patricia mumbled along with some other gibberish and lonely words, her eyes open wide and mouth slightly agape as she pulled the strand out of Stephen's fingers to twirl the tendrils between her own fingers, trying to make sense of what was happening.

"I didn't do this…" She finally managed to get out of her mouth, surprise and confusion growing on her features as her hair changed colors once more, this time to a subtle purple.

Stephan's playful conduct quickly disappeared as a curious yet serious expression replaced it. "Neither did you do that?" He questioned to which she nodded. "You're hair is changing colors on its own accord, as to match your emotions. I thought you said that you had your shape shifting powers under control." He stated trying to comprehend the situation.

"I do. I mean, I used to…I don't know what's up,…but I'm going to figure it out. But, first things first, I've got to get my hair back to normal."

Stephen nodded, and then they both proceeded to try and get it back to her original color, him by counting off ideas and her by using all of her strength to concentrate on turning her hair back, however for some reason she didn't seem powerful enough to do the task at hand, only getting a few odd stands back to their original brown color.

"Argh!" She shouted in aggravation, throwing herself down on the bench, her hair falling over her face, now a livid shade of red, and Stephen did his best to keep the worry from his features, trying to figure out what to do.

"That was quite the tour." Pay stated as they came to a stop before the door the three girls had come from earlier that afternoon.

"And we haven't even seen half of it." D stated awestruck.

"You girls really enjoyed this place." Aaron stated with a smile. "Most students don't survive this long of a tour." He finished.

"Well I say we should head home." Pay stated, while tying her long brown hair into a ponytail.

"Yeah, we still have homework. I can't wait to come back here tomorrow." D declared with a huge smile plastered on her face and Mel nodded her agreement.

"Well, see you tomorrow Aaron." Pay said opening the door with one hand and giving him a small wave with the other, before stepping though; D followed suit.

"Wait here for a second." Mel told Aaron once D had disappeared behind the closed door; he gave her a curious stare, but nodded nonetheless. She smiled and then walked away, vanishing behind the wooden door.

"Your mom's not home yet." D stated once Mel walked out of the door.

"Ok." She replied closing the door and watching it as it started to disappear.

"Would you like us to stay with you?" Payton questioned with a smile.

"No, you don't have to. I have to get started on Mr. Ronald's SA anyways." Mel responded quickly with a reassuring smile.

"Me too." Groaned D in frustration.

"I'm so glad I have Mrs. Steven's for English." Pay beamed.

"Don't gloat." D murmured. "Now I have to go home and get started on that boring paper." She continued in an irritated voice.

Payton rolled her eyes in response "Don't be so dramatic" To which D childishly replied by sticking her tongue out at her.

"Bye Mel." Both girls called out magically leaving the manor.

"Bye" Mel replied to the already empty hallway, before turning back to the wall, which contained the magical connection to magic school, and soon the door reappeared before her, and as soon as it was completely solid she hurried back into Magic School.

Just as Aaron had promised he was there, in the middle of the hall, waiting on her.

"Back so soon, Mel?" He questioned playfully, a broad smile gracing his lips

"Yeah, and with tons of questions" She responded bitterly, placing her hands on her hips, a thin line in the place of her smile and a hard look in her deep brown eyes.

"I can explain, Mel, really. But…" He trailed off looking around as other students made their way through the corridors. He walked closer to her, grabbing hold of one of her arms and pulling her towards him. "Not here." He stated in a low voice, before taking hold of her hand instead.

Aaron gripped her hand tight within his own, her slim small hand losing itself within his larger tanned hand, to her surprise his hand was callused, the skin hard, chapped and scared, the hands of a fighter, and he was only seventeen, yet it felt soft, warm and caring around her own.

She let out a shocked yelp as he dragged her full speed down the halls of magic school, he dragged them so fast that the paintings, trophies and other artifacts on the walls blurred into a mush of colors. It was a rare power Aaron had picked up on his first week knowing he was a witch, after being attacked by a demon which possessed the same unusual power, a battle where he had almost lost his life if it hadn't been for Wyatt.

At some point they slowed down to a normal running pace, and Mel's eyesight quickly readjusted into focus, and she noticed that they traveled along empty hallways, they walked up a stairway and down a hall before they came to a stop before a big wooden brown door, which Aaron opened allowing Melinda to walk in first, he quickly followed suit closing the door behind him.

The room they were in was dusty and looked as if it had been used as a classroom a long, long time ago, but was now abandon. The chairs and desks were displayed in four rows with five desks each, all dusty and broken or messed up in some way, with chipped polish and covered in ink or carvings from their previous owners.

The walls were painted an off-white color, pealing in some places, with a few empty shelves decorating them; and to top off the old classroom feeling there was a faded big chalk board occupying a good portion of the wall, behind the teachers' desk, opposite to the door.

As Mel took in the scenery Aaron kept his gaze on her, waiting for her to quit looking around and yell at him or question him, but as she remained silent he decided to start the conversation himself.

He cleared his voice, coughing awkwardly, dragging her out of her thoughts and bringing her full attention to him.

"This is an old classroom, one of the first used at magic school, no one really knows why the school hasn't re-used it for some other room, but since the newer classrooms appeared and the school expanded for the first time, the school seems to have forgotten about this classroom and a few others like it, the school at the time was still run by its founder Elder Gideon…"

"Yeah, I've heard of him." Mel stated somberly, she knew from her parents that he had been the founder of magic school, but that he was also a nut job and he had tried to kill her oldest brother, claiming he was doing so for the greater good, he nearly destroyed her family.

Aaron just nodded "Although these classrooms are no longer used for classes, us students usually use them for off the record meetings and stuff." He continued, scratching the back of his neck.

"Ok, enough of this, you aren't giving me a tour anymore." She silenced him in annoyance. "Why did you just disappear from one day to the next? And why is it such a secret that we had to come hide in an old un-used classroom, and you even used your power to get us here? What the hell is going on here Aaron?" She questioned, her voice somewhere between confused and frustrated, as she took a seat on one of the desks, and crossed her arms over her chest, her infamous hard glare, which she had inhered from her mother, firmly fixed on the boy before her.

She had really been falling for the Brit before he had disappeared, his facebook account erased, his number inactive, as if he didn't exist, no way to contact him, and no form of a goodbye from his side either. Of course she had confronted Wyatt about it, several times, but he simply told her that Aaron had been passed down to another whitelighter and that he had had no information about the teen since.

Aaron looked down in search of the right words, he had expected Mel to be angry, and he was counting on her screaming at him, but still it hadn't prepared him for the real thing.

"Wyatt and your father found out soon after they found me that my powers were going to be trouble, but they were nowhere near to guessing just how much." He sighed, still keeping his gaze down. "I'm the most powerful witch out there, as a single being, not as a group like your mother and aunts. I may even become more powerful then Wyatt, because I can pick up any power I see being used or feel being used on me. I'm a danger to myself and others, and because of that the elders had no choice but to keep me hidden, your father offered me protection in Magic School, and your brother, Wyatt, promised to keep me as his charge, for they couldn't risk any demon getting a hold of my power. They call it a blessing, yet I see it more as a curse" His gaze was hard, staring a hole into the floorboards between him and Mel' dangling feet.

"So you disappeared without a word?" Mel question, trying to understand why he would have hidden this from her, she had thought they were friends, that he trusted her.

"It wasn't planned, Mel!" He shouted back, shocking and petrifying Mel in place as he casted his ice cold gaze upon her, he obviously regretted his outburst as he glance back down.

"No one knows why I'm this powerful, it has no explanation; it makes no sense. My mother's an average human being; no trace of magic blood what so ever. My father died, but from what we found out he was just an average witch. It just happened and it screwed my whole life up!" Mel had no clue of what to do, he was pouring his heart out to her, but she had no idea how to respond, no course of action.

This was a completely different and unknown side of the Aaron she knew. Gone was the playful, cocky, know-it-all, composed Brit and before her stood an emotion ridden boy who sounded desperate for an outlet, for an out reached hand, yet his outburst turned him scarily unstable.

Silence prolonged for a moment as Aaron took a seat on the desk before Mel, back facing her, the only sign she had that he was still ok, was the rise and fall of his shoulders as he breathed.

She kept waiting for him to talk again, but he didn't restart, so confused she got up and reached out to him, and cautiously, almost scared, she placed a hand on his shoulder.

"I didn't say goodbye, because I didn't know it was one. It has been months since I last spoke to my mother. But it's necessary, to keep her safe, until I have my powers in check, and until I learn how to keep myself, and those I love safe from demons, from myself. I have to stay hidden here." He stated in a low voice not showing the pain he felt but his determination to overcome this situation.

Melinda moved so that she was standing before him, resting both hands on his shoulders, in a form of comfort. "I swear Mel, if I had known that the last time we spoke would have been our last time in a long time, maybe forever, I would have said goodbye. But I simply didn't…" He shook his head, his gaze still fixed on the floor, his hair moving as well, covering his face from her sight.

"Shh…" She soothed him, silencing his words, and lifting his chin so that she could see his face, and he could see her. "It's ok, I'm here now, I'm your friend and I will stand besides you, and help you with whatever I can."

His eyes lightened up "Thank you, Mel." He stated throwing his arms around her and pulling her against him in a tight hug, at first she blushed unsure of herself, but she then responded to the hug, burring her face in his chest, hopping he hadn't seen her blush.

Meanwhile in the gardens Patricia was still quizzical on how to get her hair back to normal on her own, and she was starting to feel weak, due to overuse of her powers.

"Tricia, please, stop. You're tiring yourself out." Stephen stated, pulling the exhausted witch into his arms. "Let me fix this, please."

"It just makes no sense as to why I can't get my powers under control." She stated angry with herself.

"Maybe you're just trying to hard at the moment, let me help you today, and we'll figure it out. Yeah?" He questioned to which she nodded in defeat.

He smiled pressing a soft kiss to her forehead, he then waved his hand over her hair, and her multi-colored locks quickly transfigured back into their original brown color, and he brought a strand before her eyes to which she sighed in relief.

"And now to test it" He stated, and then before she could question, he captured her lips with his own, hungrily, and it didn't take long for her to respond, as they parted Stephen smiled. "Still brown" He mumbled against her lips, resting his forehead on her own, and she let out a breathy laugh.

"I'm hitting the books all night until I figure this out." She mumbled back, gazing into his gray-blue eyes.

"I couldn't imagine you not doing that, but for now…" He trailed off bringing his lips down, back over her own.

Now, I know I haven't updated in a long time, for which I am sorry. It's just that I lost everything I had already written for this fic when my laptop caught a virus, and it took me a very long time to get everything together again, as well as fight off my writers block. Sorry.

Hope you enjoyed this chapter, so tell me what you think about these new characters! Love to hear what you think.
