Chapter 5

Practice went by fairly quickly for Kevin and now he was on the way home eager to start hanging out with Double D. Walking from practice, he decided to tell Nat, Nazz, Rolf in great detail exactly what happen in the locker room between him and Double D after Eddy's ridiculous water scam.

"So wait, you kissed him?" asked a very curious Nat.

"Yea man I finally did it," answered Kevin, "But he thinks I'm playing some kind of prank on him, so now I have to prove my feelings are genuine, I mean obviously I like him or I wouldn't have kissed him."

"I don't know Kev, maybe he thinks this is a prank because of the way you teased and bullied him when we were kids," said Nazz.

"Nazz girl is right Kevin, the head in the sock Ed-boy is only being cautious when it comes to matters of the heart," commented Rolf.

"I guess you guys are right," said Kevin, "But I still don't know how to prove to him my feelings are true."

"You're hanging out with him today right?" asked Nazz, who seemed like she had a plan for her troubled best friend.

"Yes I am," answered Kevin.

"Well here's your chance make sure he has a great time and don't just do stuff you want, do stuff you both would enjoy."

Kevin thought for a minute as to what Nazz was telling him, because truth be told when he asked the smarter Ed to hang after school he never really thought about what they would do. Would they watch some boring documentary, or play video games. At this point the cul-del-sac was coming into view which made Kevin more nervous as he almost reached the dork's house.

Meanwhile…

On Double D's side of things he was actually preparing for Kevin to arrive. He had finished all his homework for the weekend and did all the chores his parents had assigned. Feeling satisfied at his completed work, he decided to pop in an educational movie on the reproductive cycle of various insects.

Thirty minutes later into the movie, he heard a knock at his door. When he opened the door he saw a very nervous looking jock standing on the other side of it scratching the back of his head with a blush on his face. Double D had to admit, although he was weary of Kevin's so-called feelings, the nervous look he received when opening the door was kind of cute.

"Greetings Kevin," said Double D with his trademark gapped grin, "Please come in."

Kevin walked into the house and noticed that it was remarkably clean like the dork spent hours on end making sure every dust particle was gone. He noticed various first place science awards located on a mantel above the fireplace. On the walls he saw many photos of the dork seemingly happy along with various relatives. Then one photo caught his eye, it was hanging above the mantle over the fireplace. It was a family picture that consisted of the dork with his mom and dad. It didn't look like a recent photo nor was it that old; if Kevin would have to guess they probably took it while the dork was in junior high. It was the first time he ever seen Double D's parents. His father looked well educated like a man who was stern yet loving, no doubt where Double D got his brains from. His mother looked like the epitome of a southern bell; she looked as if she was graceful and caring and wouldn't arm a fly. Kevin stared at the family portrait for what seem like an eternity, noticing this Double D decided to speak up, "Um Kevin…" at the mention of his name Kevin was suddenly snapped out of whatever induced trance he was in.

"Oh I'm just admiring this family portrait dork," said Kevin still staring at the picture. "I think it is the first time I ever seen your parents before, you'll look happy."

It was now Double D who was on the receiving end of blushing as he fidgeted with his fingers, "Yes well mother and Father are both busy people, but they make sure they are home every night and every morning to see me off to school."

Finally moving from the picture Kevin took a seat on the couch, and began to divert his gaze towards the DVD Double D put in before he arrived. Double D followed suit and sat next to him, "So what do you wished to spend our time doing?" asked a very curious Double D, who was now beginning to wonder exactly what Kevin had planned when he said he wanted to hang out.

"Should I find a much more enjoyable DVD or perhaps we could play video games or maybe…" before Double D could finish his suggestions, Kevin merged their lips together in a sweet but delicate kiss. Double D, caught completely by surprise with the kiss, gradually melted into it. Kevin lips were warm and he could taste the cherry flavored chap stick that covered his lips. After what seemed like an eternity both boys broke away as to catch their breath and retrieve some air.

"Get your coat dork we're going to the creek," smirked Kevin.

After much protesting about it being fall and that both of them had no business being close to a creek at these ungodly temperatures, Double D finally gave in and followed Kevin to the creek. When the two boys reached the creek, Double D took in the surroundings. He noticed that all the trees had begun to release their leaves signaling that fall was indeed in the air. Has he was marveling at the magic of the fall season he was snapped away from his thoughts when he felt a brush of cold water splash in his face. It was then he noticed that Kevin who was now shirtless and probably pants less, standing in the creek motioning for him to come join him.

"Good Lord Kevin!" shrieked Double D at the sight of Kevin risking the possibility of getting sick by swimming in the creek during the fall season. "Kevin don't you know that you are at high probability of getting sick, why the very idea of swimming in this creek during this time of year would be considered by some the actions of a preverbal mad man."

"Awe dork, come on let loose for awhile it will be fun, I promise I won't let you drown," said Kevin with a sly grin and a wink of the eye.

"Drowning in this creek is not what concerns me Mr. Barr," said Double D matter-of-factly.

"Oh then what is?" asked Kevin

"Well for starters, what if I get sick?"

"Then I'll take care of you," shot back Kevin.

"Although I am sure you are more than capable of taking care of someone in their time of sickness without any evidence that proves otherwise, what would happen if you get sick?" asked Double D.

"Then you will have to take care of me, now won't you Double Dweeb?"

After much thought and deliberation, Double D decided to throw caution to the wind and decided to join Kevin in the creek. Even he had to admit Kevin did look handsome sitting in the water, the way his muscles and toned body moved with the motion of the water would make just about anybody give into whatever deed he desired.

Double D got undressed and entered the creek; the water was cold and made him think twice about joining Kevin in this ridiculous activity. As he entered the creek, he stood in one spot shivering as if he were on the verge of frost bite, "Now what?" he asked.

"This," said Kevin. And at that moment he moved closer to the sock headed Ed and closed the gap in-between them and caught the other's lips in a long passionate kiss. This kiss was different from the first two has Kevin leaned in with his tongue as if he was asking permission to enter the other boy's mouth. Access was granted as both boys' tongue fought for dominance, the kiss had to have lasted five minutes until Kevin decided it was time to let go. Kevin then looked at his dorky crush in amazement at how good the dork actually looked in the creek. It made him want to take him right then and there but he knew Double D wasn't ready for that and he was okay with it.

"Oh Kevin…" said Double D.

Kevin laughed at the sight of the flustered dork, "Got you speechless, huh Double Doofus?"

Double D collected his thoughts for a minute then gave his response, "So this isn't a prank, you…you actually….like… like me?"

"Well yeah dork, I like you a lot more than any person I've ever been with," said Kevin who was now staring deep into Double D's eyes.

"But…but why me Kevin when you can anyone in the school," questioned Double D, "Why do you choose me?"

"Like I said before Double D, I like you a lot and I mean you're a lot different than anybody I've every dated," answered Kevin. "And plus you're just so damn adorkable."

This time it was Double D who initiated the kiss and it was deeper and longer than the three other kisses. Feeling the air getting colder, they decided to break away and collect their things and head home.

"Let's go home D." said Kevin. Double D nodded and began to get out and get dress.

"Oh yeah, Double D there's something I wanna ask you," said Kevin, "Will you go out with me?"

Double D got wide eyed at the proposal and ran and hugged his new boyfriend, "Oh Yes Kevin…a thousand times yes."

Chuckling at the other's reaction Kevin slid his shirt on and cuffed his boyfriend's hand and said, "Let's go home babe."

I'm busy with work and school so I'll try to write whenever I have time too. Oh I'm tired of reading stories where Double D is like an abandon child so I've decided to give him loving parents' haha.
