Authors Note: Wow. This might be the shortest fic I've ever written. Also it's not even that good and I think it doesn't even make sense at the end, but it popped up into my hearand I though: "Yeah, why not?". Forgive me.

I'm trying to come up with a longer fic, which will be the ending of Episode 5 from Max's point of view, so please stay with me until then!

And now: Enjoy!

"Come on Max!"
"Wait for me, I have little legs!"

Max nearly fell as she tried to climb over the fallen tree. Chloe was just a few feet away from her, but it felt like she was miles apart from her.

"Chloe, wait.", she said on the verge of tears.

As her feet hit the ground she slipped on the fallen leaves that covered the entirety of the ground. She braced herself for a sudden impact with the ground, but nothing came.

"Like I would leave you hangin' dummy.", her best friend said, smiling at her.

A smile formed on Max's lips as she realized that Chloe had caught her. After she was stable again, she took Chloe's hands in hers and they began to run.

The lighthouse was stunning at the golden hour. Max had read all about it and wanted to see it with someone close to her.

They both watched as the sun slowly set over the sea, drowning the whole town in a golden, shimmering light.

Their bodies cuddled up on the bench that was set right beside the lighthouse. None of them said a single word until the sun was nearly gone. The enjoyed each others company as long as they could.

Since Max had told Chloe that she would move away in a few weeks, the older one wanted to go on adventures with her and conquer the world!

Needlessly to say, that Max welcomed her idea and tried to come up with a plan to sail around the world as pirates. Also needlessly to say, that this was not going to happen.

But they still wanted to spend their last time together as long as they possibly could.

After a while, Chloe broke the silence.

"Hey Max?"
"Hm?" The younger one slowly tilted her head to her best friend and looked her in the eyes.
"Promise me..." Chloe paused and nervously bit her lower lip. "Promise me you'll never forget me, okay?"

Pictures flashed before Max's eyes. Pictures of a rainy, dark day. Chloe, right in front of her, saying something similar to her.

Max knew the answer she would give and gave, but also the pain in her heart that she would feel and felt in this moment.

A tear rolled down her face and was captured by her lips, which she slowly pressed on the ones in front of her. As she withdrew, she heard a small sob from her best friend and spoke the word that she would say again, in another life.

"Never."
