Welcome! Today we have the Battle Festival? (Sorry for naming it the Kahuna Battle, Playing the story mode hasn't happened in a little bit. And the question mark is because I still don't remember what it's called .) We also meet Hau, start off the Island Challenge, and meet a backstory Pikachu! Leave your thoughts in the comments. ~ Xepad
Chapter 3: The Festival, the Island Challenge, and HeatSpark.
Elio slowly arose the next morning, recollecting the events of yesterday. He had saved that weird creature, been reunited with Moon, and received a Litten as his first Pokemon. As he walked out of his room, his mother had already placed some eggs and bacon on the table, which he chowed down on.
"Good morning, Elio! Isn't the weather just beautiful?" his mom asked from outside.
"Yeah, Mom, it's great. Thanks for making me breakfast." he replied, munching down on the bacon, and handing a small portion of his eggs to Litten.
That Litten. He was adorable, and it was surprising that the Litten chose him. He would have to give it a name, one that he personally liked. Suddenly the doorbell rang, and his mother walked in from the balcony.
"Oh, Elio, dear, could you go see who that is?" she asked.
Elio slowly got out of his chair and opened up the door, seeing Selene and Lillie, the professor's assistant, waiting outside his door.
"Hi, Sun!" Selene said, waving.
"Hiya Moon, Hello Lillie. What brings you out to my house today?" he asked, walking towards them.
"Professor Kukui wanted to talk to you and Selene before we go to Iki town for the battle festival." Lillie said, moving her large hat to show her face.
"Oh, Elio, already meeting friends I see? You both are so adorable!" Elio's mom said.
"Mrs. Dawnheart! It's so good to see you again!" Selene said, running up to Elio's mother and giving her a hug.
"Oh my Arceus, hello Moon! Have your parents been well?"
"They've been fine. My dad has been busy being the mayor of Hau'oli city."
"Mom, we have to go see Professor Kukui. I'll meet you at the festival." Elio said, heading over towards Professor Kukui's lab.

In the distance, a yellow creature with a small patch of fur on his head was looking from behind a tree.
"Pika-pi!" it said, running up the hill towards the small place of Iki Town. It looked around until it saw a large house adorned with the symbol of Tapu Koko, and ran up to it, accidentally banging its head on the door.
From inside, Hala heard the noise, and he move to open his door, seeing the small Pikachu look up at him in awe.
"Why hello there, little fella, is something the matter?" he asked.
The scruff-haired Pikachu looked down, using his paws to draw a sun on the ground in front of the door.
"Does this have to do with Elio, the newest resident?" Hala asked, trying to figure out the solution.
The Pikachu nodded, looking down with sadness.
"Worry not, little Pikachu, he will be here by this evening for a battle with my grandson, would you like me to introduce you to him?" Kahuna replied.
The Pikachu looked up, smiling and nodding.
/
"So you wanted to give me a pokedex, and you just showed me how to capture a Pokemon... so you want me to help you fill it up?" Elio asked, looking towards Professor Kukui.
"That's right, cousin. I'll meet you in Iki Town when you're ready to come." Professor Kukui said, walking towards the small town.
Elio looked around, seeing that there was a lot to do, and so he began to do work. After an hour, he had already caught a Yungoos, a Rattata- which to him looked nothing like the Kantonian one- and a Pikipek. He looked around and stopped, seeing a Pichu.
"That- that Pichu from so long ago." he said.
6 years prior
"Dad!" a ten-year-old Elio said, looking through the screen.
"Hello, my little Sun, how are you doing today?" his father asked.
"I'm doing fine dad! I saw the Champion Red today when I was having a meal with Blue who had asked me to speak with him on the matters of getting a Pokemon!" he said.
"That's wonderful, Elio! I just wanted to say I'm sorry that I haven't been able to say Happy Birthday, but I have a present I want to give you when I get back."
Elio's father turned and lifted up a little Pichu with a little flap of hair.
"Wow! You're getting me a Pokemon?" the young Elio said.
"Yes, my little sun. And old friend of mine had his Pikachu hatch an egg, and I told him your birthday was coming up. This little guy's name is HeatSpark, and he's going to be your best friend, I assure you!" his father said.
"Thank you so much Dad! Please come home soon!"
Present Day
Elio shook his head. After what happened, HeatSpark was released for some reason, and he wouldn't want to befriend any other Pichu in that case. As he pulled his small baseball cap down, he started to trek up the path to Iki Town. As he arrived, Kahuna Hala, Professor Kukui, Selene, and Elio's mother were all in a circle. Elio's mother had tears streaming down his face, holding a Pikachu in her arms.
"Is something wrong?" Elio said, walking towards them.
"Ah, Elio, boy. This Pikachu came to my doorstep and wanted me to introduce him to you. Your mother took one look at him and started to tear up for some reason." Kahuna Hala said.
Elio's mother slowly placed the Pikachu down, and it turned around, eyeing Elio. Elio's eyes started to blink, making sure he wasn't being pranked.
A small flap of hair, just like HeatSpark.
"Pika-pi!" the Pikachu said, moving up to Elio.
Elio slowly lowered himself downward, looking closer into the eyes of the Pikachu.
"H-HeatSpark?" He said, a tear starting to form in his eye.
"Pika-pi." HeatSpark said, jumping onto Elio.
Elio grasped his arms around HeatSpark, pulling him into a tight hug, a tear rolling down his eye.
"Should we get the festival started, Kahuna Hala?" Selene said, looking from Elio to Hala.
"Yeah, grandpa! I wanna battle Elio now!" a boy similar to Hala said.
"Ah, yes. Elio, Hau, it's time for your battle with the festivities. Please step up to the platform." Hala said, turning towards the platform and walking to the back middle edge.
The boy, who introduced himself as Hau, stood in the left middle and Elio stood on the right middle of the center area.
"The Alola region is made up of our four islands." Hala started.
As Selene sat through the speech, she eyed Sun, who had HeatSpark laying on his head. What was HeatSpark's relation to Sun and Sun's mom?
"Elio! Hau! Bring forth the power of your Pokemon!" Hala finished, allowing Hau and Elio to bring out a pokeball each.
"Pichu go!" Hau said, summoning a small Pichu.
"C'mon out Litten." Elio replied, his Litten making a noise as he came out.
"You first, Elio."
Elio looked at Pichu, studying it for a second.
"Litten use Ember!" he said.
"Li-Litten!" Litten spoke, conjuring up a flame in his mouth to spit it out.
As the fighting started to drag on, Selene looked at both Pokemon with Lillie, who had a worried look on her face.
"I'm worried for them all, you know? All of those Pokemon could end up getting hurt." Lillie said.
"I know, but that's the concept of battling, Lillie." Selene said, turning towards her.
"Pika-pi!" HeatSpark spoke as it pulled Selene's leg.
Selene looked down, seeing HeatSpark looking with worry.
"What's wrong, little guy?" Lillie asked, kneeling down.
Pikachu pointed to Sun, who was busy battling with Hau. Selene looked closely, trying to figure out what exactly was wrong. Her eyes started to scrunch closer, and she gasped a little.
"He only has Litten to use. But- he had to have caught at least some Pokemon." Selene said.
"Popplio, use Water Gun!" Hau said, seeing the Litten was caught in a spot he couldn't move.
"Poppli!" Popplio said, launching a stream of water at Litten.
"Litten!" Elio said, seeing Litten get knocked down.
"Litten is unable to battle, Popplio wins this battle!" Hala said.
Elio looked down at Litten, who was closing his eyes do to needing rest.
"You did your best, Litten." he said.
"Lit-ten." it said as it was returned to his Poke Ball.
"Pika-pi!" HeatSpark said, going from Selene's leg onto the platform in front of Elio.
"HeatSpark, what are you doing?" Elio asked.
"Pika!" It said, getting ready into a fighting position.
"It seems that this Pikachu wants to fight on your behalf. He gave me his pokeball when he spoke with me." Hala said, tossing Elio a unusual PokeBall.
As Elio looked at the Poke Ball, he admired it's features. It wasn't the standard Poke Ball, it was one with a yellow coloring. It had red circles on the front and had a small black valley-like mark on the back, referencing the way Heat's tail was.
"Hau, is Popplio healed up and ready to battle?" Sun asked, looking at Hau with a potion to Popplio.
"Yes, and Popplio and I are eager to test your bond with HeatSpark." Hau said, making a goofy smile.
"Popplio, use Pound!" Hau said, ushering his hand forward.
"Heat, dodge it and use Quick Attack!" Elio said.
"Pika!" HeatSpark said, dodging the Popplio's pound and ushering forth an attack Popplio couldn't react to, knocking it back.
"Popplio, Water Gun!" Hau said.
Popplio's water gun hit HeatSpark, knocking him back a little. He slowly shrugged off the water coating his fur.
"Use Thundershock!"
As the Thundershock hit Popplio, Popplio became shocked and launched backwards near Hau's feet, in the fainted facial expression.
"It seems Popplio is unable to battle, Elio is the winner of the battle!" Hala said, sending his arm up into the air and moving it towards Elio.
"Yay! We did it!" Elio said, hearing Heat speak in glee.
"Sun, Hau, you did great!" Selene said, running up to Elio and grasping him in a hug.
Elio gave a slight chuckle and darted his eyes down as Selene pulls away from him, darting her eyes away from him as well.
"Elio, it's time I set you forth on your island challenge with this Z-Ring." Hala said, showing Elio a white band with a small indent in the side.
"Thank you, Kahuna Hala. But what's the island challenge?" Elio said.
"Four Islands, 11 trials, to show the bonds between your Pokemon and you!" Professor Kukui says.
"Sun, this is great! We can go on this trial together!" Moon said, jumping in the air.
"Row-let." Rowie said, flying out of her Poke Ball.
"Yeah, we can go on that adventure we said we'd go on so long ago." Sun replied.
"Come on, Sun. Let's go celebrate. Do you think your parents wouldn't mind you staying over, Moon?" Elio's mother asked.
"Most certainly not, Mrs. Caliente." Moon said, smiling.
And so Sun, Moon, and Sun's mother walked back to Sun's house for the last night of Sun's residence in his house.
Sorry that this is a little late. I'm going to try and do at least 1-2 chapters a day. Also, that might not start out for a while because of issues that happened yesterday. Leave your thoughts in the comments and the next chapter we begin the Trainer School and entry into Hau'oli City! ~ Xe
