Rebirth
Disclaimer: I don't own Shiraishi nor the Prince of Tennis.
Author's Note: I really am doing well; this must be the third one-shot/drabble in two days. I hope you enjoy this one dealing with Shiraishi Kuranosuke.
Sweaty, searing, this was all he could feel as he sat on the bench in a nearby park on a humid afternoon. How long had he been out here in the burning afternoon? Three hours, maybe even four? He couldn't remember.
Shiraishi indulged in the bittersweet memories of Shitenhouji losing to Rikkaidai in straight sets, and now losing to Seigaku with only one win. Nevertheless, for once, he didn't feel any regret when they lost to Seigaku. Challenging Fuji had an affect on him that he never thought possible. He could see that not only he was fighting to win the tournament, but also fighting with his spirit on the sport he loves.
Standing up unsteady, he heads back to the hotel him and his team are staying before they head back in two days, right after the nationals. Yes, in a few years time, Shitenhouji Koukou will win the Nationals, when we're all back together, all of us.
At first it sounded weird, but I think it came out well in the end. Hope you enjoyed a thought of what Shiraishi could have felt after Shitenhouji lost.
