Roxanne/Lysander

"I'm sorry, but I want to start dating other people."
Seventeen-year-old Lysander Scamander kept hearing his former girlfriend's words in his head as he watched her board the train home with her new boyfriend. Roxanne Weasley was all smiles as they laughed and joked. Lysander just felt like there was a lead balloon in his stomach. A feeling that hadn't gone away in the month since she had broken up with him.
Last fall, when they had started dating, she had been so excited at the idea of doubling with her cousin Dominique and his brother Lorcan, but Lysander was starting to realize that without Dominique here next year to double with, Roxanne wasn't interested in seeing him alone.
Roxanne had moved on to her new beau quickly, but even with Lorcan and Dominique's encouragement Lysander didn't have the heart to start dating anytime soon. There was one major flaw for Lysander.
When he said "I love you" to her, he really meant it.
He still does.
