James had never felt better in his whole life, not even when he won the Quidditch cup as team captain. He was on a high that he never wanted to stop. After all the fretting and planning, the night had gone off perfectly.
Now he lay on a blanket watching the stars. His fiancé lay at his side, her fingers laced in with his own. They had been engaged for only thirty minutes. The best thirty minutes of his life.
He had bought the ring over a month ago. After meeting with her father last week to obtain his permission for her hand, James had planned the perfect date with the help of Teddy and Victoire.
He knew how much Becca loved the outdoors, so he planned a special picnic with her favorite foods. Topping it off with her favorite chocolate cake decorated with the ring box on top of the cake as decoration.
Becca had gasped in surprise and cried as she said yes.
He turned his head to look at her and she did the same. Her eyes shown bright with joy, and he was sure his mirrored hers.
"I love you." He said as he leaned forward and kissed her.
"You better." She said and they both laughed as they continued to kiss.
