The quote in italics is from, quite coincidentally, episode 41. I think Stein has a beautiful way with words.
"I'm looking for my way back. The fog is too thick, and I've lost my way."
She visits him in dreams. Nightmares, really, for that is all she seems capable of offering. She takes hold of him in slumber, intent on watching him squirm.
"I've seen her, you know. I know what's in her heart."
He feels too long for his body, too stretchy. He has no control over his own gravity. His eyes swerve from left to right, but somehow seem to find her at every chance of avoidance.
"The look of self-sacrifice. Of a hopeless love that brings her up and drags her down, further and further into herself until she doubts if she can go on. And then you appear again, bring out the fire in her, and she can see the light once more. You are her hero. You are her tragedy." Medusa painted a look of sympathy across her face. "She would do anything for you, Professor Stein. What do you think of that thankless job? Do you feel gratified? Despicable? Do you hate yourself? Do you love her?" She folds her legs casually and watches him. Insane grins bloom on both of their faces.
"How can you stand your pitiful self when she is around, Professor? How will you ever let her go?"
She takes hold of him in slumber, intent on watching him squirm. And she does it well.
