Draco paced in his room, he was furious, that bitch! He'd taken her in when she was penniless, when Weasly had turned his back on her, and potter was out of the country and out of reach on his private island recovering from the war, he'd married her, given her a home, and how does she repay him, by going out with Weasly the bastard who had left her to starve on the streets.

How many times had she gone out with him? Did she bring him here in his house? The thought was enough to make him even more furious, that bloody bitch, strolling into the house and asking him about his trip as if she hadn't just been with her lover, she had been wearing the blue and silver dress, the one he'd bought her from Italy, and she hadn't worn it once! And he wanted to go to her room, and tear the bloody thing to shreds, because the first time she'd worn it, had been for Weasly!

She won't go out with Weasly again, under any circumstances, he'll forbid her! Did that stupid bitch think he would be okay with her taking a lover, just because they didn't have sex! His thoughts strayed to Ms. Dubois, but no, he eased his conscience , he was a man, men were different, they had needs , besides he was almost always thousands of miles away, away from anyone who was connected to England and him or his wife, while she was here, in the middle of all their friends, family, and business associates, where her every move was watched and judge by them!

She can't take a lover, he won't allow it! Just the thought of Weasly touching her, kissing her, was enough to drive him, out of his room, into the hallway and finally make him barge into hers.

She sprang up in her bed, clutching the cream, rose and silver duvet to her chest; he sneered at the virginal act and barely contained his snarl.

"What do you want?" she asked, his voice the very epitome of calmness.

"You can't take a lover, I won't allow you! And you will not see Weasly again!"

"Why not?" Hermione asked, with a sudden desire to challenge him, she would see anyone she wanted to see, it was none of his business who her friends were.

"Because you're my wife that's why? Isn't that enough?!" he snarled

"And is it enough for you, that you are my husband?!"

"What is that supposed to mean?" he screamed, as she got out of bed and scrambled into her robe.

"Oh please! Did you think I wouldn't, that none of our devoted friends would deign it there duty to tell me, over and over again and that I wouldn't feel disgusted and revolted by it"

"You think my actions, justify yours?!" he asked incredulously

"No!!" she screamed

"No Mr. Draco , I am not like you, I am not an animal that lets himself be driven by his lusts, however they choose to lead him and to whom!!" her disgust pouring from every word and syllable.

"You think I … am an animal!" he bellowed in outrage.

Her anger increased a notch, but she managed to make her voice seem indifferent as she calmly said:

"honestly Draco, I don't care anymore, the last three month of absence were the last straw, I don't see why I should isolate myself from my friends, just because I am married to you, and,……."

"Do I have to remind you that those you call friends dumped you at the first sign of bankruptcy" Draco sneered in aversion.

"That's a cheap shot," she hissed

However, Draco shrugged his shoulders, this was the first time that he'd seen her in a bad mood, and standing up for herself with strength and self-confidence, and he continued without taking his eyes off her:

"But it's true, and what are you going to do about it? Tell me I am a savage, that I am impolite, not like your precious bastard Weasly"

"Ronald is a well behaving gentleman"

"Yeah, and what your definition of 'well behaved gentleman' a man who doesn't eat an olive without slicing it with a knife, or a man that goes to the beach wearing a tux!"

"You are a rude and vulgar man, please get out of my room, I want to go to bed," Hermione said pointing to the door.

"Go… I am not going anywhere until you do exactly as I ask you to do" he said savagely his hands grasping her already bruised arms.

"Do exactly as you ask me to do" she scoffed, "what are you talking about Draco, this is the 21st century, you are not my jailor, I can do as I please"

"Really? I wouldn't count on that if I were you!" he snarled

She tried to get out of his grip, but it was like steel.

"Let go of me, I don't like this conversation at all, I wish it never started," she hissed

"Me neither, but shall I remind you that your absence from the house tonight was the reason it did" he said

"Okay, but I am tired and I want to sleep, can we talk about this in the morning, when we're calmer and more rational," Hermione said with a quiver to her voice, glancing at the bed with a frightened expression.

The spontaneous look upset him as he understood its meaning.

"Oh no…Hermione I would never! That has never happened, and never could!"

"Neither do I " she said coldly, regretting her moment of weakness, "now can you let go of me and leave so I can get some sleep"

He let go of her, his facial expression an excellent example of disgust.

"Of course, but don't you want to know what I got you from France, I thought that was why you married me, to get as much financial benefits as you could" he said in abhorrence.

Hermione did not reply, but she watched him as he walked out of her room, gritting her teeth, and clutching her squeezed fists to her sides, he slammed the door and she flopped on the bed, and threw the pillow from its place to bang against the door.
