Why is this happening to me?

Kel stared blankly at the wall. Then something broke inside her and she flung one of her lucky cats at the wall. It shattered.

Luck. Fat lot of good it did.

'MITHROS WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME?' She screamed. Then suddenly all she wanted to do was shatter all those cats that were smiling at her infuriatingly.

At that moment she hated those cats. Hated the gods. Hated everyone for their pity.

When she stood surrounded by shards of broken porcelain, all she felt was anger.

'WHY DID THEY ALL HAVE TO DIE?'

Then she collapsed in sobs.

Why did they have to die? Why did you have to take them all away? Gods, WHY?

Then reason began to whisper in her ear, and all the guilt came flooding back.

The gods always had reasons to ruin mortal lives.

And she finished her earlier thought.

It was all my fault.

'Kel you have got to stop being stupid. You've got to move on. Stop being so selfish!' Neal paced in her room and ran his hand through his hair. 'Everyone-'

'Neal.' Kel's eyes were cold. 'Get out.'

'Wh-'

'Get out. Now.'

The door closed behind him. And Kel was completely alone.

It was all my fault.
