Chapter 2

We arrive home 15 minutes later and I can practically hear Lea's mom's thoughts, "Oh good fresh tuna, I now what were going to have."

She take the fish, puts them in the ice box, and tells us to put our new reaping clothes on. I go to my bed room and see a royal blue dress that reaches my ankles, and shoes that our the same color. Lea rolls in wearing a matching dress. Lea's mom yells "Come down the food is done."

I go to the kitchen with Lea, on the table there is cut raw fish with slices of lemon surrounding the plate. I grab a few pieces fish, and squirt them with lemon. I let the sour and savory taste fill my mouth. The taste reminds me of the short time I had with my parents. All I remember about them is that they owned the best restaurant in district 4.

I have not gone a day without thinking what my life would like if my parent were still alive. I would have never would have been tortured with 8 years at community home, spent 6 month searching for a permanent home. And I would not have met Lea I guess meeting her was the only good thing that came out of my parents death.

Before I know it I must go to the reaping. The walk is short yet painful, because this might be the time I walk away from Lea's house, my home
