Sorry for such a short beginning chapter! I'll try to make this one longer.

...

"Is he dead? I think he's dead."

"Yeah, most likely-Wait! He just moved!"

"He's getting up!"

Timon sat up, spitting out water and coughing insanely. Looking up, he watched at two blurry figures bolted away.

Strangely enough, they looked like meerkats!

Timon got up and looked around. "Niiiiiiiiiicccccccce..." he muttered. The outlands seemed to laugh back at him.

"I don't think he can see us. Can he?"

"I don't think so..."

Timon turned and, trying to hide behind a rock were two skinny meerkat kits. Their fur was darker, and their eyes had an outsider's dark rings around them.

The moment he laid his eyes on them, they screamed and ran.

"Wait!" Timon yelled, going after them.

Bad idea.

Out of nowhere came another outsider meerkat, older that the kits but just a bit younger than Timon. She attacked him and sent him sprawling on the ground. When he tried to get up again, she actually sank her fangs into his shoulder.

"Hey! Stop that!" Timon yelped, "I wasn't even attacking them!"

The female meerkat stopped and glared at him. "Then why were you chasing them?"

"I-I just thought they could probalbly help me get back to the Pridelands!"

"The Pridelands?!"

The meerkat sank her fangs further into him, and he let out a shout.

"I pull you out of the river, and you want to repay me by going BACK to Simba?!" she yelled.

As if on cue, a roar echoed in the air, and Simba himself, along with Nala, Kiara, Kovu, and Pumbaa appeared. Simba bit down on the meerkat attacking Timon and threw her aside.

The meerkat struggled to her feet, and a look of terror split her face when she saw Kiara's soon-to-be mate.

"Kovu!"

The young lion nodded his head curtly in greeting.

"Bethany."

Bethany, the meerkat who'd attacked Timon, looked around wildly. The lions all around her growled, slowly advancing towards her.

Pumbaa helped Timon up. "Uh, Timon...your shoulder."

"I know, old buddy."

Timon's shoulder was a mess, bloody and lacerated, but luckily, the only thing broken was the skin. He stared at Bethany, shocked. She'd pulled him out of the river?! Why'd an outlander save a pridelander?

And why, if she'd saved him, did she attack him? It made no sense at first, but then it occurred to him: the only way an outlander showed that he/she cared was with violence. The outlanders had never known love. Bethany had attacked him because she'd wanted his thanks...by joining her colony.

Timon stared at Bethany, then turned to the lions. "Let's just go home, you guys."

"B-but Timon!" Kiara almost shouted, "She attacked you!"

"Doesn't matter. Let's go."

Confused, the lions followed they're meerkat friend. Pumbaa shoved his shoulder against him, giving a know-it-all look.

"You like her?"

"Oh, be quiet, you!"

...

Okay, not as long as I had planned, but this'll have to do. :)
