"They'd feel the same if we were dating." Ally told the blonde off-handedly.

"Me and you… th-that'd be weird…" Austin stuttered, eyes not meeting the brunette's.

"Yeah… yeah… ha… ha… Totally weird…" Ally replied nervously.

The two stared off into space, dreaming of what it would be like if they were to date. They could honestly say that the only major difference they noticed in their daydream was the fact that they would kiss. They already flirted most of the time, and physical contact was almost constant (whether it was a hand-hold, a hug, or if their arms brushed as they stood next to each other). People already assumed that they were together – and those were strangers who just happened to comment when they were in Sonic Boom.

"It really wouldn't be weird." They stated simply and simultaneously.

They turned to each other in shock that both of them were thinking the same thing.

"Hey Ally," Austin started shyly, "what if we did get together? Do you really think it would affect our friendship if we were to break up?"

"I wouldn't think so…" Ally trailed off. "We're more mature than that. We've been best friends for ages. I only worry about Trish and Dez because they don't have as close a friendship as you and I."

"So… Do you want to go out with me? See where the future takes us? We can be partners in a new way. Do you want to be my girlfriend?" Austin asked, over-explaining himself, a trait that he had slightly picked up from Ally.

Ally placed her finger on the blonde's lips.

"Yes Austin, I'd love to be your girlfriend." The songwriter told the singer, whose face lit up with joy.

Austin leaned forward to give his new girlfriend a hug.

"Okay, let's go get the truth out of Trish and Dez!" Ally chirped, grabbing Austin's hand and dragging him towards Sonic Boom.

Austin just shook his head at Ally's determination, and let himself be pulled through the mall towards his girlfriend's family store.
