Natsu
Natsu stood in shock for a whole ten minutes, listening as Gray poured his heart out to her. This was the first time his had been completely honest and vulnerable to anyone, let alone her.
Silently she laughed to herself, as she realized her obliviousness to Grays true feelings. The signs had been loud and clear, plain for everyone to see but she had been blind.
She felt ashamed of herself all of a sudden and she began to wonder what the feeling she had in her stomach was about. It was a nervous, flighty feeling, almost a nauseous feeling in her stomach, that made her stomach twist, her heart pound and her palms sweat.
And then she realized this was how she had always felt around Gray. Under the façade of comradely and friendship, these feelings had followed her every encounter with gray, without her even knowing!
And then it had all made sense, why Gray could make her smile for no apparent reason, why she had secretly been annoyed at Juvia for even glancing at him, why, deep in her heart she felt there was something not right with her and Laxus.
The reason why her heart raced when she fought with Gray and she had always noticed his moods and feelings, even superficially, was because she was in love with him too.
The feelings she had mistook for hate and rivalry, had been feelings of love, just distorted by her idiotic brain.
She looked at Gray, who was looking at her with embarrassment and fear, fear that she may not reciprocate his feelings. She had been so cruel without even realizing it.
Gray
After he had come clean about his feelings, they sat in an awkward silence, as he waited, heart racing for Natsu's response.
Suddenly, Natsu burst into a fit of laughter, causing Gray to jump in confusion. What was going on in her head now, he wondered? Was she just laughing his confession off, maybe? No, gray thought, more like she was going to reject him gently and try to stay friends. It's probably too much for her now; she's just broken up with her boyfriend.
Gray, you idiot! He chastised himself for being so inconsiderate to her feelings. She needed a friend right now, not another asshole to break her heart into a third piece.
Just as he was about to apologize, he felt Natsu's body crash into his own, her arms seizing his waist. Gray froze in shock, as he felt Natsu's lips collide with his own.
This is what he had least expected.
Her lips were soft and tender, her tongue begging union with his. Moaning, he opened his mouth, allowing the kiss to deepen, as her tongue eagerly explored his. "I love you, Gray Fullbuster and you're a fool for not telling me so". His heart soared and he blushed "I love you too".
Her arms tightened around his waist and her hips grinded against his, causing him to harden with desire. Natsu felt this and giggled, reaching down to unbuckle his belt.
Or she would have if she hadn't have lost her self control and accidently breathed fire, mid kiss. Natsu squealed and pulled away reddening with embarrassment.
" uggggggghhh…. Yea sorry, sometimes that happens, when im fired up" natsu coughed, looking anywhere but him.
Gray laughed, liking this bashful side of her and teased "nah its , good. I froze my mouth before any damage way done".
Natsu's eyes narrowed slyly and she dove for him again, about to kiss him again, when they were interrupted by stifled laughter from the doorway.
Both their heads shot to look at the source of the noise and they saw the whole guild perving from the doorway.
"what the fuck do you thing y'all are doing" Natsu roared, spitting fire at them.
"We're just seeing if a full blown confession penetrated that thick skull of yours" Cana replied, as the rest of the guild fell about laughing.
Natsu blushed, embarrassed and ashamed. Gray looked at Natsu, his heart still giddy from moments ago.
"well now you guys have satisfied your curiosity, clear off" gray growled grabbing Natsu's waist and kissing her passionity in front off the whole guild.
Wolf whistles and cheers rang out and Gildarts shouted
"You two really need to get a room"
"We're in one!" Gray shouted across the room.
" then put on some clothes gray, I know its hot and all but we don't need to see how happy you are to see Natsu" Gildarts joked pointing out Grays nakedness, something neither of them had noticed until now.
"MY BOYFRIEND IS HOT THE WAY HE IS, GILDARTS, STOP BEING SUCH A COCKBLOCK" Natsu hollered, using her dragon slayer magic to scare them all away.
When they were all alone, Natsu earlier comment about them being together hit him.
" do you wanna…go out with me?" Gray asked, still in disbelief that this was happening.
Natsu laughed and joked "well we could spend a couple of weeks beating around the bush, being miserable if you want. Or we could, you know, just be together and be happy. Because we love each other and I don't want to be another second away from you, if possible".
Gray smiled, a real smile and bent down to kiss Natsu, relishing the fact that she openly welcomed him.
