Invasion of the Ex-Boyfriends
Chun-Li finished with her chores about the restaurant. The doors were open, and customers were slowly trickling in.
Her mind was abuzz on the level of a beehive in an Earthquake. She couldn't stop thinking about the assignment, Vega's escape, and if Interpol planned on informing her. There was also Juri…it was hard to place her thumb on it. She thought that Juri was dead, honestly. She wouldn't exactly call the two of them friends, but they played when their fathers worked.
She was pacing back and forward in her room while trying to make a phone call. She had to tell Ken to hold off his visit due to work, but nothing went through. All the calls, texts, and voice messages urged him to contact her as soon as possible.
All her frustration came to a stop when she felt a sudden dull strike behind her shoulder. It was a cane.
"Ow!" Chunners grunted and quickly spun about. "What was that for? I'm trying to handle something for work, grandma…" She sighed at the tail-end of her words, knowing she still had to contact Guile, Po-Lin, and others for this serious issue.
Chao just grinned like the Cheshire cat. "Getting slow, Chunny! I was thinking of training, but there is something much better at hand. Ah yes!" She giggled while twirling her cane toward Chun-Li's face. "Something that will put a smile on your face! Across the world, out of town, no one will ever hear! It's great to explore options!"
"…What in the world are you talking about?" Chun rubbed her forehead in annoyance. "Look, Grandma, whatever it is, can we wait it out a little bit? This is important, I have an escaped prisoner to deal with okay?"
"Well…" Chao turned her head slowly to the right. "It cannot wait. He is already here…"
Chun-Li's heart felt like it popped. "He?! Ken is here and he didn't answer my texts, calls, or messages?! What a creep! What a jerk! Stupid blond-headed, shoryuken-abusing, inconsiderate, pig headed motherf-…!"
( Flashback #14: 14? Really? Are you even keeping track of these? )
Darkness.
Nothing but pitch black darkness and a golden rope hanging on the right side of the screen.
A voice came calmly over the darkness. "We're sorry, we are experiencing technical difficulties due to Chun-Li's foul language. We will fill in the next few moments of your entertainment with an important announcement."
It continued. "Terry? Would you please pull the curtain?"
"O-Kay!" Terry Bogard screamed off screen, but his hand swung inward to yank a golden rope that parted the pitch black darkness. Immediately, Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 began to play.
When the curtain parted, there was a large, lavish living room on display. The plush red leather seats sitting either side of a small end table were shown, with a lightly burning fire place behind them. On the seat to the right, the gentleman, Dudley was seated in his black silk robes and boxing gloves.
Next to Dudley, was the brutish, bull-headed Balrog with his lumberjack shirt, black jeans, thick combat boots, and of course his own boxing gloves.
Dudley was holding a pipe in his glove, but turned his vision toward the screen. "Oh, hello friends." He nodded while his grin grew. "I'd like to welcome you to the first episode of 'Chun-Li is having a meltdown', where a guest and I translate just what is happening in her mind. With me this week is Balrog. Say hello."
Balrog just growled like a dog at the screen.
Meanwhile 'Balrog' came as a nametag beneath him. It included the tagline 'Author of 'Bad Ass Motherf%^&er: My Real F%^&in' Life'.
"Ah yes, yes. My brutish friend." Dudley nodded as the camera focused on him again. "This week, sir Balrog will help translate Chun-Li's meltdown for us. He is an authority on the matter. Now, Chun-Li is cursing because of how horribly wrong everything is going. In every movie, there is alas a scene where nothing goes to the hero's plan. Usually someone dies then, but no one dies in this story. They just get really bad owwies."
"Gonna kill this old bitch!" Balrog screamed off screen.
"That is how Chun-Li feels, but she can't exactly say it out loud." Dudley nodded, and then faced the camera again. "She's curious if Ken is just throwing caution to the wind, ignoring her warnings, or maybe he is showing their relationship is doomed already. It can be taken as disrespect. To her, at least."
"You dead, homie! Dead like Jennifer Love Hewitt's career!" Balrog shouted. "You better not be down there 'neither! I'll f^&* you up! Ter-ble! Ter-ble, that's what you is!"
"Yes, yes precisely." Dudley nodded, as the camera not once left his unflinching face. "There is just so much wrong right now. Vega claims to have inappropriately interacted with her while she was asleep."
"That's f^&*ed up!"
Dudley continued. "Then there's the mystery about Juri and Crimson Viper…, but Vega is the main concern. If he is loose…Chun-Li and Ken are in danger. Vega is a very dangerous man, after all."
"Ya mama got a neck like Sponge Bob, mothaf^&*er!"
Dudley just sighed, looking to the ceiling with sympathy for Chun. At this point, the camera panned out to show both of them. Balrog was still looking incredibly angry at the camera. Finally, Dudley spoke. "If only things could change for the better." Dudley's butler brought a glass of red wine on a silver platter, but it was denied with a simple hand motion. "As they all say…it all gets better from here. As for Ken…"
"You Owen Wilson lookin' bitch!"
Dudley shrugged. "Well, let's just see if it is in fact him. That's all the time we have right now, thank you for joining us today on 'Chun-Li is having a meltdown'. I'm Dudley, see you next meltdown."
( Flashback? End )
As we return to Chun-Li, we find her chest-down on the floor with one arm twisted behind her back. Sitting on her back was her grandmother, who kept her right arm twisted behind her back tightly. Chun was tapping her other hand on the floor and kicking her feet for mercy.
"Sorry! Sorry! I didn't mean to say that!" Chun-Li struggled to get free, but it was no use.
Chao's cat-like grin spread over her face as she released her granddaughter. "Oh ho ho. We fuss and fight, which is what a family does." She twirled her cane and lightly struck Chun-Li on her side while she was standing up. "I was just seeing if your stress dulled your senses. It did, drastically. Much more training to be done!"
Chun-Li was dreading more training on top of her already stressful life, but she had to take on these events as they came. Right now, Ken was the first task she had to take on.
"Alright," Chun-Li exhaled while rubbing her sore shoulder. "So, Ken's downstairs right?"
Chao turned her back on her. "Now, I never said that."
So it wasn't Ken? Who could it have been, then? Chun-Li's imagination went wild on the possibilities. Perhaps it was Guile or one of her co-workers to inform her about Vega's break out? Maybe it was an old friend like Ryu perhaps? Either way, Chun-Li checked her hair and her clothes to be sure she was at least presentable to this enigmatic visitor!
Once she came downstairs, she found a man in a green polo shirt and khaki pants standing there with a bouquet of red roses in his hand. He had a scruffy black goatee, beautiful dark eyes and low cut hair that spiked backward in the front.
"Shenmue?!" Chun-Li shrieked in absolute horror.
The man smiled with endless love in his eyes upon seeing Chun-Li. "It's been so long, Chun-Li!"
Who is he, you ask? Well, this guy was my last and only serious boyfriend. He was my first for a lot of things; including the first boy I've avoided like he had the plague!
You see, Shenmue is a nice guy, but he's constantly competing with everyone around him, even me! He is never satisfied with anything, and sets unrealistic, stupid, and idiotic standards on whoever's near him! He wanted me to be a piano teacher, can you believe that?!
Chun-Li just laughed…rather nervously while her left cheek twitched with her forced smile. "Uh-huh…huh-huh…heheheheheh…" She felt herself being pushed forward like an ataman by her grandmother. Some of the customers were even staring at her. "Shenmue…yeah…it's been a long time. Are those for me?"
"Yes. Beautiful flowers for a lovely woman." Shenmue smiled as he offered the flowers to her. Once they were in her arms, he placed his hands in his pockets. "I was on my way to work down at the Super Market, but I heard you were in town. I am saddened it isn't a permanent move."
Chun-Li held the flowers to her chest. It was a very polite gesture from… an old flame. "Supermarket?" She always figured he'd follow his dreams to become a musician. "Oh, that's hard work. I never thought you were one to work for anyone but yourself, Shen."
The man chuckled lightly. "Well…I run the place. It's doing pretty well right now since the transition." He pursed his lips together and nodded his head. "I've just been really busy with life. It helped me put a lot of things in perspective."
"Oh?" She was curious, but she didn't want to seem like she was interested in getting back with him. Hopefully he just wanted to be friends. "I'm glad to hear that. If anyone knows about busy life, it's me. Trust me there, Shenny."
Shenmue laughed some at her words…and watched as Chao took the flowers from Chun-Li to leave no obstacle between the two. "Um…well, I have to get going. Maybe we can have lunch or dinner sometime?"
"Uh, yeah! Sure!" Chun-Li didn't want to sound rude at all, so she accepted. "It was great to see you again, Shen…"
"You too, Chun-Li…" He stepped closer and put his arms around her body.
The warm coil coming around her brought her back to times long since passed. She almost started to melt, but she returned the embrace and gave him a pat on the back. She didn't really like having his arms around her waist, but she was secure with how she felt about him.
Shen pulled back and kissed her cheek. "You should get out of Interpol. You'd be a much better teacher. You should come to the school I volunteer at. We started a mentoring program recently for the kids."
Kids? That made Chun-Li's stomach feel fluttery. She adored kids, especially ones who could speak clearly.
"I…just may do that when I have the time. I really have to get to work right now." Chun-Li did her best to remain polite. She even smiled at him.
"Here's her phone number." Chao handed over a slip of paper to Shen.
"What the hell?!" Chun-Li screamed down at her grandmother with her face turning totally pink.
Shen examined the number as if Chun-Li wasn't yelling at all. "Well alright. I'll be talking to you soon, Chun-Li. See you!"
As Shen turned to leave, Chun-Li was feeling like she was about to grow fangs and chomp her grandmother's head off in public. However, as Chun-Li went to strangle the old woman…she found her index finger pinched between Chao's fingers and thumb.
The old woman extended her pinky…and instantly Chun-Li sweated. "…Not the Wushi Finger…!"
"Uh huh." Chao shut her eyes….then opened one to gaze at the frightened Chun-Li.
Chun-Li didn't want to end up paste on the floor, so she instantly submitted. "Okay okay! I quit! I'm sorry, okay?!"
"You'd best be, Chunnie…" Chao turned her back on her granddaughter now and held her chin up high. "I have informed others of your arrival. It will be so sweet to see old friends and resist temptation!"
Chun-Li wanted to explode right then and there. This couldn't possibly get any worse at all.
If she ran into her…old friends here, she wasn't sure how long she could stay sane. Jian, Quan-Lo, and Jaw-Long were the only people she could think of that she wanted to avoid at all costs.
However, with Chun-Li's luck…she was going to run into all of them today now. After she finally got the call about Vega's escape, she was informed that there were agents on the task, but that she should stay sharp. The fear clung to the back of her throat like peanut butter, and it was slowly suffocating her. She still had to follow up her task with meeting Jiyoon Han in the hospital.
She got bundled up for the weather and called up Po-Lin for a ride to the hospital in the city. Within a half hour, Chun-Li was in the passenger side of a squad car with her partner and well on route.
"Are you okay?" Po-Lin said as she noticed the pale features of Chun-Li. "You look like you wanna…throw up."
"I'll be fine once Vega is back in prison," Chun-Li responded quietly. "Let's just do this and be sure Jiyoon is safe. He may be trying to assassinate her." As the words left her lips, she perked up and shot her eyes toward Po-Lin. "We do have adequate security for Mrs. Han don't we?"
"Uh, yeah. Of course." Po-Lin gripped the steering wheel and stared straight ahead. "Doop doop, be-boop."
"Why are you doing that?"
"Doop-doop-beep-bop." Po-Lin continued. "Hm? Doing what?"
"Making weird nois-…"
"Doop-boop, boop-bop. Bopity-bop bop." Po swayed her head from side to side.
"…You must be lying to me." Chun-Li narrowed her eyes.
"…BOOP BOOP BOP." Po-Lin spoke over Chun-Li with her odd 'instrument' sounds.
Frustrated, Chun-Li palmed her forehead and leaned back in her seat. Soon, her cellphone started ringing. Immediately, Chun-Li picked up without even looking. "Xiang here." She said with an exhausted sigh.
"Chunners, hey there." It was Ken on the other end. Chun-Li felt like she suddenly sprouted wings and flew Mach Seven through the sky when she heard his voice. Ken continued to speak. "I took the jet. Cut the time in half. When can we meet up?"
"Uh," Chun-Li looked for a distraction, but found none. "I'm on the clock right now Masters." She pursed her lips tightly to help relay her 'truthiness'. "Maybe tonight? I'll call you. Where will you be staying?"
"Not sure yet," Ken replied with a slight chuckle. "Actually going to check out some of the fight circuits in the area if I can find any. Maybe hit a gym or two. Sign some autographs, check out the charities out here."
"Sounds like a busy sched-…" Chun-Li paused as she heard a beep signifying she had a call waiting. "Masters, hold on a second, okay?" She clicked to the next line…and before she could even breathe on the other line, she was yelled at by a male's voice.
"PIG!" The man shouted.
"What?!" Chun-Li's face got red as she immediately recognized the voice of Jian, another ex.
"I sent you a friend request three years ago. I'm not good enough for a response?!" He sounded extremely irate. "Oh, but you're talking to that superstar American, huh?! What about us?! We never had any closure!"
Alright, hold it here. Jian…is a very emotional, unstable, and confused guy. He was my first kiss by complete accident when I was fourteen years old. I say it was an accident because I literately turned my head and we were kissing. It was weird, but at the time I thought it was romantic!
He dumped me at least five months later when we got an American exchange student…then he left her for a Hungarian girl, then left her for a Korean pop star, then he was with a plus sized supermodel, and ever since she left him he's been obsessing over me. I changed my number to avoid him but…my grandmother got it for him.
"Jian, there is nothing between us." Chun-Li spoke out loud, not caring if Po-Lin heard her. "You're just over emotional!"
"Over emotional, huh?" Jian snapped back. "What's with you women? If a man is polite, he is boring. If he's passionate, he's crazy. If he stalks you, he's sexy. If he watches you sleep, he is husband material. I keep trying all of these versions of myself to make you love me!"
"Jian y-…" Chun-Li paused. "You watched me sleep?!"
"Only through my sniper rifle!"
Chun-Li was seriously considering having him arrested just for that. "Jian, I'm hanging up now. Don't call me again."
"When you say 'don't call', that means you love m-…"
Chun clicked back over to Ken immediately. "Ken? I'll call you back. I really have to get to work on this assignment."
"Alright Chun. Catch you soon."
After Ken spoke his last words, Chun-Li hung up with a huff. "Today is the day from the depths of the worst part of hell." She whined while she leaned back against her seat. "Ken's here…, Vega's obsessed with me, and now all my ex-boyfriends know I'm in town."
"Well," Po-Lin tried to think of something cheerful to add to Chun-Li's day. "At least you're still you. The day may suck, but you'll always be great." She smiled to her friend brightly. "That's what I say to myself every morning, Chun. I tell myself the truth; that I'm simply amazing."
The words made Li's attitude change a little bit. It was a nice, though egotistical view of oneself. "Yeah…maybe. All I need now is Mai to show up and steal all the attention away from me." Chun-Li placed her fist on her cheek and propped her elbow against the chilly window.
Several minutes later, Chun-Li arrived at the hospital Miss Jiyoon Han was being cared for inside. Much to her disappointment, there were no agents protecting her room. Stepping out of the room was a doctor; a very tall young Chinese man with a shiny bald head and thick eyebrows. Immediately, Chun-Li grabbed Po-Lin and put her in front of herself to avoid eye contact with the six foot six doctor.
"Chun-Li! It's been forever!" Quan-Lo chuckled as he stepped toward the hiding officer. "I heard you were in town, I hadn't any idea you'd want to give me a surprise visit." He turned his eyes to Po-Lin, and politely shook her hand. "I'm Quan-Lo, an old friend. You are?"
"I'm Po-Lin." The girl responded with a big toothy grin.
Okay, you may be wondering what's the big (no pun intended) deal with Quan-Lo and myself. I'll keep it simple as possible. He was my boyfriend when I was ten, but he moved to America and we used to write each other a lot until I got in Interpol. Things got distant and well…weird…so, I kind of cold turkeyed our relationship…er…friendship.
Seeing that he actually works in this hospital was just my bad luck showing it's ugly head again. I don't even know what to say to the guy, let alone while I'm on a mission!
"Uh…" Chun-Li stepped out from hiding. "It's wonderful to see you again, Quan. Sadly…, this isn't…a personal visit." She cleared her throat and tucked her arms behind her back. "I am here to see a patient…Jiyoon Han. It's very important that I speak with her.
"Oh…, no can't do, Chun-Li…" Quan frowned. "Miss Han was checked out just a minute ago by her daughter. I was just checking in with my other patient who shared a room."
Jiyoon was checked out by her daughter? That meant…Juri was there? It was odd that no one was hurt in the process of Juri's visit.
"Oh…" Chun-Li squinted a little as she thought of a way to exit this situation. "Well, it was nice seeing you again, Quan-Lo. I really have to report back…"
"All is well, Chun-Li." Quan smiled as he reached down to take her hand gently. He placed a kiss on top of her knuckles and backed away with a smile. "Come see me anytime. I've missed talking to you…"
Po-Lin was giggling, but Chun-Li was dying on the inside. Why did this have to happen to her? Did she have to be mean and tell Quan-Lo there was absolutely no chance for romance? Where the heck was he when she was actually looking for someone to date? Why didn't she think about him?
Her eyes instinctively scoured his large, warm hand for a wedding ring. There was no sign or indication that one had ever been present, and it set Chun at ease. However, it also stung her heart to even consider anything with Quan, especially when she had Ken…sort of.
"I missed you too, Quan." She said honestly. "I really should go. I'll talk to you soon." She slipped her hand away and quickly tugged Po-Lin along with her. It was going to be a rough day trying to track down Juri Han and her mother, especially when important information about Shadaloo and the location Jiyoon was kept in was now out of their grasp. Chun did not look forward to the conversation about losing the lead to her superiors.
Hours Later, at an extremely High Class Hotel Suite
"I have a feeling the door with Eliza isn't fully shut yet." Ken Masters said as he leaned back on the provided couch in his hotel suite. "She says she worries about me…and she's always going to be there for me." Ken's large palm enveloped his brow line as he leaned forward. He rested both elbows on the upper portion of his bent knees, and held his cellphone to his ear with his left hand. "Then there's my relationship with Chun-Li. I keep getting a gut feeling it's going to end up ending fast. She's really serious about her work, you know?"
"You've got a lot on your plate, Ken." The voice of Mai Shiranui sounded sorrowful on the other end. "Chun's my best friend, and I have it on good authority she's doing all she can to get your attention. Yeah, her work sucks but…" She sighed… "She's trying, Ken. As for Eliza? Even though I never really liked her choice to give your relationship the axes, I think she's jealous. Maybe she wants to make a love triangle; everyone loves a good love triangle." Mai giggled on her end.
Ken wasn't so enthusiastic about that idea. "Yeah, I avoid those as much as possible. I'm just at a crossroad right now. In one hand…, I've got Eliza and strengthening my relationship with Mel…, then there's trying to seriously settle down with Chun-Li. I mean that in a dating sense." He stood up and began to pace the hotel suite a bit.
"Have you tried calling Chun-Li?" Mai asked while Andy was heard in the background saying 'who are you on the phone with?' Mai scoffed and pulled the phone from her ear. "I'm talking to a friend. As if you care."
Ken knew better than to ask who she was referring to. He knew Bogard's voice well. "I tried calling Chun earlier," Ken stated. "She kind of blew me off. It's getting late now; she's probably still working on things."
Mai gave an annoyed scoff. "Then freggin' call her, Ken. She probably wants you to call her to the point it gets annoying. Show her you actually think about her more than you'll admit."
"…I thought that was called stalking?"
"That's called interest!" Mai retorted with a giggle. "It's h-…I'll call you later Ken. Andy's being fussy." She sounded quite upset. "Call Chun-Li. That's the best advice I've got sweetie. Talk to you soon."
After Mai hung up…Ken spent a few minutes just pacing around his room. It was tough to be a bother, especially with a man of his status. Some people expected him to just get what he wanted and move on to the next, but it wasn't the case at all. Even a man with everything couldn't purchase honest company and emotions. The truth was, Ken had a crush on Chun-Li since the day he saw her… and only recently he was able to act on it. He thought about the beauty of her smile, the well-practiced technique of her fights, her soothing voice, and child-like charm. The way her bangs parted so perfectly over her forehead and helped frame her face and slanted, almond-brown eyes.
It was a thought that made his heart palpitate at a steady rhythm worthy of any love song. However, the girl in possession of his affections was so distant to him, he felt. It was nice they'd at least had a date and a budding relationship, but Ken's heart was becoming paranoid. He didn't sense any joy in her voice when he called…maybe it was just a bad time.
He was just thinking too much, really. However the blend of their personalities, intellect, and emotions were enough to keep Ken's attention. He was just…nervous.
Nearly half an hour passed. Ken was lying in bed thinking.
Ken just kept thinking about possibilities…about being respectful to Chun, and not trying to force his presence upon her. He remembered doing that for Eliza, and he saw how they ended up. Goodness, was he ever to stop worrying? His job did ruin his relationship…and he was starting to think ending things may save he and Chun-Li from future suffering.
His phone rang.
Immediately, Ken pulled it up to answer it.
"Masters," He said with a slightly groggy voice. The moon was peeking in the darkening skies just outside of his suite's window. "What's up?"
"Hey Ken." Chun-Li spoke. "Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. How're you?"
Ken perked up in his bed. "Oh…, hey! I was just thinking about you, yanno? Sure know how to keep a guy on the edge of his seat Chunners."
"Well, I try not to." Chun-Li smiled on her end while she was standing on her left palm upside down. "You can handle it, Masters. I don't need to get you a tissue for your widdle tears do I?"
Ken was all smiles now. Chun-Li knew how to awaken the humorous side of him. "Me? Nah, no way. You might have to keep that for yourself when you're footin' our next dinner's bill."
Chun-Li gasped while her legs spread out overhead to maintain her balance. "You scoundrel! Making me pay? I don't make nearly enough to afford the places you probably go." While her feet slowly arched forward, Chun-Li crouched down with her legs folded up Indian style. "Heehee…but anyway..." She leaned back with her hand resting flat behind her on the floor. "I was just working out a little bit before bed. I was thinking you and I could maybe go for a walk or something. Talking is fine, too."
"A walk?" Ken immediately started looking around his room for something to wear…but he stopped once he noted the time. "Kinda late, Chun. I don't wanna have to ruin our time together with you playin' Super Woman if a criminal pops up. Talking might have to do…"
Slightly disappointed, Chun-Li continued their conversation as if the offer wasn't even mentioned. "How are things with you? How's your son doing?"
"Mel? Well, he's doing fantastic." The thought of his son brought a smile to his face. "I actually saw him before I left…" He hesitated. "Eliza brought him by so we could spend a little time together."
"Oh…" Chun-Li paused at the mention of Eliza. She was hesitant, and shut her eyes to prepare for bad news. "How's Eliza been doing?" She thought she was going to hear about them getting back together. As sweet as Ken was, she couldn't fault him if he went back to his family. His son needed his father after all.
Ken started pacing his room again, but moved toward his window to look over the snowy city. He could pick up on Chun-Li's tone…, he tried not to leave her on the edge too long. "She had a date recently. She's doing pretty good over all, really. I'm happy for her…moving on is always tough."
"Tell me about it…" She had quite the literal invasion of exes over the course of the day. "Do you think you're moving along alright?"
"I am." Ken lied partially. "I'm doing my best. I closed that door, and I think it was for the best. All those years of marriage are gone…, but mistrust happens."
Chun-Li felt bad about mentioning Eliza now. She tried to change the subject as naturally as she could. "Everything happens for a reason. You both got stronger from the experience. If it wasn't meant to be, it wasn't meant to be."
"How's your grandmother doing?" Ken kept things flowing at a casual rate. "Always wanted to ask about your…grandfather. Is he still alive?"
Chun-Li winced a little bit at the question. "Yeah he is. They split up ages ago. She'll kill me if she heard me say that." She cleared her throat. "But anyway! I'll get right to the point. I wanted to tell you if we got a chance to walk, but…it's a bit dangerous in Hong Kong right now."
Ken feared he'd hear something like this. Already his heart was sinking from the thought of Chun-Li wanting to end things. "Oh…" He said with his tone trailing off into sorrow.
"It's…work related." Chun-Li frowned as she listened to him. "The last thing I want is for you to be hurt. I think you should probably…head home. I'll see you before you go, though."
"No." Ken spoke up. "I can handle myself, Chun-Li." He spoke firmly, full of all the confidence he had in the tournaments. The determination and stubbornness in his voice could have easily been mistaken for anger. "I'll see you some other time. Get some sleep. See ya."
When Ken hung up, Chun-Li was stumbling over her words trying to get a single word in. "Ken, wait!" She sighed as the phone hung up. She tapped the phone against her forehead repeatedly in annoyance with herself and her situation. Another bad day had come and gone for her. She simply just let Ken do what he wanted until things got too bad. She was nervous and scared though. Interpol had no Intel on Juri's location, nor Vega's. Nowhere was really safe…but somehow Chun-Li, her bed, and sleep all found one another. She rolled onto her side and placed her palm on the other side of her bed.
It was cold…as it probably always would be.
A/N
Could this be a rift forming between Ken and Chun-Li? At any rate, sorry for the rate. I'm updating these as fast as I can with everything that's happening around me! Keep the reviews coming and I'll keep updating as interest continues in this story of Chun-Li and Ken.
Also, I hope the plot isn't taking away from Chun-Li and Ken's development. I'm kind of writing this as if it's a television show, but if the plot with Vega and Juri is taking away from the core relationship I may have to make adjustments.
