Chapter 5: Mistakes are Made by Everyone
AN: Here is a little background so Auggie dated parker but when she left for Africa they broke up and Annie told Auggie how she felt when she got back from Stockholm and that was when the relationship started. Auggie still gave her the car but he never went to Africa for Parker but he still had a relationship with her. I just wanted all of you to know that tid bit before read this chapter so you don't get confused.
Annie and Simon had parted ways in Munich. Annie had his cell phone charger. She had yet to change when she landed in the U.S. and headed straight for Langley with Simon's phone charger. Annie entered the building and got the elevator. The elevator stopped and everyone except for Annie and this other woman had gotten off. The elevator stopped on the 3rd floor and the woman got off and a man got off. Annie looked up to see that the man was Auggie.
"Auggie" Annie said before Auggie could guess it was her.
"Annie I didn't know you were back." Auggie said.
"I just got back" Annie said and then Annie got closer to him and hugged him.
"Why do I smell Clive Christian cologne on you?" Auggie asked and Annie then got real nervous she forgot about Simon. She backed away form him and looked at him.
"Oh um my contact was um laying the cologne on pretty thick." Annie said
"Oh ok" Auggie said. Then the elevator door opened and Annie got off. As the door closes Auggie was wondering if what Annie said was the truth. I trust her Auggie said to himself but why didn't he believe her.
Annie got off the elevator and turned around to see the doors shut. She saw the expression on Auggie's face. She wondered if he believed her. She shook her head and headed into her new department. She handed the charger to one of their tech guys and asked him to discretely put a tracker on it. Annie then went into Lena's office to tell her what she was doing. "Do you think he is falling in love with you?" Lena asks her.
"I do actually. He has already called me today." Annie says
"Yeah He called me right before I got in my car to come here."
"What did he say?"
"I don't know I let it go to voicemail."
"Why let it go to voicemail."
"To make him think that I am not waiting around for his call." Annie says
"Smart play Annie. You may go home now and rest up. I know you have been going non stop for three days. You deserve it." Lena says
"Thank you and I will call you and tell you what the voicemail says." Annie says and walks out of the office and to her car. She gets in her car and drives home. When she gets home her phone rings.
"Walker." Annie said into the phone.
"Anderson." Auggie said teasingly
"Auggie what do want." Annie said with some pep in her voice.
"You I want you ." Auggie said teasing Annie some more
"That sounds nice but Danielle has been trying to talk to me and so I was going to be with her tonight but if I am still home tomorrow how about we have dinner at your place and maybe there will be dessert for you." Annie said
"Ok but I have one change to that plan."
"What is it?"
"Dessert before dinner because I have missed you immensely and we never got to have make up sex after our fight. I hear make up sex is the best." Auggie said
"Oh it is I didn't know that."
"Well you do now so how does that sound to you."
"Sounds amazing." Annie says
"so I will see you tomorrow if work permits"
"Yes you will and I love you." Annie says
"I love you too." Auggie says and hangs up. That man still doesn't say goodbye Annie thought as she pulled her keys out of the ignition. As she was walking up to the house her phone rang again and she saw it was a number she didn't recognize. So she answered it.
"Annie Walker." She said.
"Annie it is Simon it seems that my phone charger got mixed up in your stuff."
"Oh I saw your voicemail but I just got home and then work called me for a little bit. Let me check my bag for you." Annie said as she walked into the guest house and opened her and rummaged through it so he could hear her. "Well it seems that it got tangled up in shirt." Annie said.
"Is there any way we could meet up and you could bring it to me." Simon says
"Well I can't today or tomorrow but I could leave early Thursday morning to wherever you want to meet up at." Annie says
"Ok how about Paris."
"Ooh Paris the city of love. Just give where you will be staying and I will be there."
"Ok I will call you tomorrow to give you the final details." Simon says
"See you soon Simon." Annie says
"See you soon Annie." Simon says and hangs up the phone. Annie puts the phone down and starts to unpack her bag . As she is unpacking she hears knocking on her door.
"Come in." She yells
"I thought I saw you come home." Danielle says
"Yeah I just got back and I took the rest of the day off so I could be with you and be here when the girls get home." Annie says
"Ok great so there is no chance you can get called into work?" Danielle asks
"Nope I am all yours. Just let me finish putting these clothes up and I will come into the house so we can talk." Annie says and Danielle nods her head and walks back into the main house. Annie finishes unpacking in about five minutes and walks into the main house to see Danielle cooking.
"Smells good what are you cooking? Annie asks
"Chicken Quesadilla's I have been in the mood for Mexican." Danielle says
"Sounds delicious. So what did you want to talk to me about." Annie says
"Well the other day Michael was in town and I was expecting to have the divorce talk but instead he sat there and begged me to take him back and he looked so pitiful and apologetic so I decided to give it another try with him." Danielle says
"Oh my god that is amazing. I am so happy for you." Annie says
"But there is one other thing." Danielle says
"Ok what is it?"
"Well Michael also got a permanent job out in California so we are going to be moving in a couple of weeks." Danielle says
"Oh " is all Anne says and her face falls "I am happy for you and Michael, but I am going to miss you so much." Annie says as Danielle puts their lunch on plates and she hands one to Annie and they both sit at the table.
"So when do you move?" Annie asks
"In about a week." Danielle says
"What about the girl's school?"
"Well Michael has already been looking and we found a good private school for them to go to and Michael is going to enroll them when the time gets closer to us moving. Hey you can stay in the guest house still but we are going to put in on the market. I think by the time we sell this place you are going to be moving in with Auggie." Danielle says
"Yeah I don't about me and Auggie anymore."
"Why what happened?"
"We had a fight a huge one and we apologized for it but I saw him for the first time today and it was tense. I mean he called earlier to make plans for tomorrow but it seemed like the normal us was forced." You know what I mean." Annie says
"Yeah I do actually but you and Auggie are meant for each other Annie and he loves you I know he does. Couples fight if you didn't I would be worried but you two will get over it and move on like normal couples."
"But I lie for a living and so does he I just don't know if the trust is there any more. I love him and I am afraid of hurting him Danielle. I am also afraid he will leave me."
"He would never leave you Annie unless you force him to leave you." Danielle said. After they ate lunch Annie and Danielle just talked and got caught up with everything that happened in past couple of weeks. Three o'clock had come quickly and soon enough the girls were running into the house to tell their mom about their day at school. To their surprise they saw their Aunt Annie their too and they squealed in delight and told both of them about each of their days. Danielle got up to fix them a snack and Annie helped the girls with their homework. Soon it was dinner time and Annie was playing with the girls while Danielle cooked. After dinner the girls got ready for bed and Annie and Danielle sat down and watched a movie with them. The girls fell asleep around ten so Danielle and Annie woke them and helped them up the stairs. After the girls were in bed Annie and Danielle shared a quart of ice cream for old times sake and then Annie decided she was tired and went to the guest house to go to bed.
Auggie had gotten home at around six. When he got home he went straight to the fridge to get a beer and he turned on mingus and listed. He finished his beer and got up to go change when his phone rang. He answered it before he found out who it was. "Anderson" Auggie
"Auggie it is so good to hear your voice." Said Parker
"Parker what's going on?"
"Well I am back in D.C. and I wanted to know if you wanted to get together?" Parker asked
"Umm." He had to think for a second. He didn't know what to say he never really told Annie about her. He was in uncharted waters but he decided that no harm could be done with just hanging out with an old friend. "Ok sure where?" Auggie asked
"Well I am at this place called Allen's. I don't know if you have ever heard of it." Parker said
"Yeah I go there all the time. I will be there in fifteen minutes." Auggie said. Then he hung up the phone and called his car service and they were there in five minutes. It didn't take long to get to Allen's and when he did Parker came up to him and guided him to where she was sitting.
"So what brings you back to D.C. so soon?" Auggie asked
"Well Eritrea is wonderful but I decided to take a little time off I was getting home sick." Parker said
"Oh so are you going back?"
"Not for another month or so. What about you what have you been up to?"
"Nothing much really I just go to work and go home or come here and drink with friends for a little but other than that I do nothing."
"You're such thrill seeker." Parker said
"You know me so well." Auggie said and they both laughed. They bought a couple more drinks. Auggie had four beers and about two shots of tequila and parker had three beers and four shots of tequila on top of two margaritas. Auggie was on his way to getting buzzed but Parker was a light weight and was slightly below being drunk. Auggie decided to call it a night and so did Parker. They both got in a cab together The cab arrived at Auggie's first Auggie and Parker got out. Parker was just saying goodbye but when Auggie went to hug her She kissed him and She deepened the Kiss. Auggie didn't move. Parker backed away and Auggie didn't know why but he brought parker closer and kissed her again. They both went up to his place and Parker grabbed him and kissed him more passionately. Next thing Auggie knew his shirt was off and they were on his bed.
